In the 5 or 6 weeks I've been wearing barefoot shoes, not a single person has said anything to me about them. I wear them whenever I leave the house, whether it's just to walk around the neighborhood or go grocery shopping or whatever, not a single soul has said a word. Maybe no one's really noticed, maybe no one cares. If someone cares that much about the shape of the toe box on your shoes, they gotta change their priorities. XD
@@justanotherpiccplayer3511 I'm now almost 5 months in, still nothing. It must not really be a big deal. I even got the Be Lenka Winter 3.0 boots and those are clown city. 😂 What shoes did you get? Did you stop buying weed for a month? 😂
I got the Saguaro Luck I shoes a week ago and they're pretty nice as a casual shoe. Gotten a couple compliments already! I can also say the Earth Runners are great. Can't say whether grounding really does anything, but I try to put them on whenever sandals would work. Love these when going on easier hikes or errands. They're good for running too, but I prefer my Xero HFS for runs.
I have flat feet and was always told I need feet support or inserts in order to run, I HATED that and I picked up the Vibram five fingers and started slowly running farther and farther. It's been 7 years and although I don't run in the five fingers anymore or even have them, they allowed my feet to strengthen to the point where I can run in any show. Honestly, they are great shoes and the feeling of walking or running in them is truly awesome.
Thanks for sharing! I have flat feet too and I wore custom insoles for a few years to create an arch, after a while I realised the arch is actually pushing the legs outwards and causing a lot of joint pain in the hips and knees. I am slowly transitioning to barefoot shoes, and I noticed I don't have joint pains anymore, but I get a lot more muscle soreness around my feet as I am activiating all the muscles that has been dormant for years!
One of my biggest fears is me being wide and flat footed and buying these shoes. I walk all day every day as delivery driver for Amazon and I wear wide shoes to give me a bit of room. Do you think those would be a good beginner walking shoe?
@@kalithechamp1412 I walk about 18,000 steps a day but I’m sure you do more as an Amazon worker and I wear Vibram shoes almost everyday. They are my favorite barefoot shoe…if you are new to wearing barefoot shoes I would advise you to break them in. Wear them in the house for a while first, then maybe on your days off, they take a little time to get use to. Also Vibram shoes aren’t always sized perfectly in my opinion. Look into them but I’m sure once you find a good fit you will like them.
yea go for it :D personaly i didnt transition coz the muscles build fast even more if you walk everyday, also why pay a pair and change in some months. so gotta say i had quite the lot of soreness but kept wearing them and up to some point it went away. been 3 years now id say big changes can be seen on 1 / 3 months then a year then 3 :D gl
I have had five fingers, vivobarefoot, and Altra Escalante Racers and these are my goto's 5F - So comfortable. Nothing has come close. Walk/Run Amazing. People give you looks. VBF - Every day. Great durability. Easy to wear without being stared at. AER - I only use for running. Wide Toebox. Super comfortable.
Too many athletic shoe makers don't even make wide sizes. That's one reason I'm a fan of New Balance. That being said, I'm planning to get into a barefoot shoe to see how that works for me. Thanks for the recommendations.
Bro you couldn't even tape the insoles of nikes to the bottom of your feet can call them barefoot. Every Nike has no toebox a significant drop and too much foam.
Hello, my friend!!! I’m so sad, because I don’t speak English quite well to understand all of information! But I will try again, because your video is interesting and very important! Thank you👍🏻
7:10 a different knot is helpful to keep these laces from being untied. Going through the hole 2x (one loop or double bunny ears) creates a much better knot. It’s called a “double slip knot” and works well with keeping leather laces on boat shoes tight as well. And easy to untie with just a pull on either end.
Man I’ve tried them all. I gotta recommend Lems. Nice casual styles that are perfectly inoffensive. Wide toe box. Normal sizing. Decent colors. And very comfy for long days!
Speaking of being protected from glass. I used to wear converse all the time, and I could feel the ground. I remember that it was super weird at first. Anyway, I once stamped my foot right onto a piece of broken glass. Thing is, I at a nightclub, and I was quite drunk at the time. I didn't notice that I'd stabbed myself until one of my friends asked why I was leaving bloody shoe prints around the place. I've just started looking into minimalist shoes again after spending many years in boots. I joined the military, and they're not particularly keen on wearing converse haha.
I've been wearing bf shoes for about 3 years and I don't care what others think about it. I get the many different looks and comments about them in my hometown, but it is what it is. I like them for what they r and what they do for me.
I love wearing Vibrams in the house and during my indoor workouts. I wear Xero Mesas when wearing sneakers and Jim Green Barefoot Rangers when the situation calls for boots. Along with strength training and stretching, my plantar fasciitis is gone, and even my family made a passing comment about how developed my calves have become.
I am always on the fence about barefoot shoes… I have seen them for years.., and starting researching them seriously about 2-3 years ago.., sooooo 😮, I still have yet too buy a pair
One brand that he didnt review that i love are Xeros. Theyre at the middle price point between the amazon pairs and vivos at around $80-$130. I alternate between my xeros, vivos, and altras frequently depending on what activity im doin.
Great run through on the State of Barefoot shoes! My current shoe rotation is: * Vivo Primus Lite III for lifting/hiking * Feelgrounds Droptop Luxe as my casual shoe (classic white leather slip-on sneaker!) * Vivo Magna Forest + microspikes for snow * Hoka Mach 5 Wide (I wear a size 10EE in these, and size 10 in all others) for running. I'm also a bit heavier than I would like before I transition back to running in my barefoot shoes full-time, so using these for now. The EE width is wide enough for me even with feet swelling from running, and these have a very marginal heel drop.
I don’t like “sandals”. I’m a flip flop guy. It’d be dope if they created a fly flip flop version of any of these I’d love it, especially the grounding jawns
My favorite pair is vivobarefoot geo racer knit. It’s discontinued right now but I found a pair on revivo. I’m not a fan of new sock like tongue they’re putting now. Thx for the nice review
For running on regular shoes, amongst all the brands I tried so far I found the Hokas have the wider toe box (considering the specific models I wore from each brand..) I have the Hoka Mach 5 (not barefoot at all, one size up) and the toe box is really comfortable comparing to other brands I wore for running (asics, nike, adidas, saucony, fila, mizuno, northface..). My saucony was so tight that I gave them up after just a couple runs.. too sad coz the shoe midsole technology was really magnificent (the Triumph) The Hoka’s are quite expensive tho.. which I really don’t like 😂 but it was still a great deal to run in such comfortable toe box.. Back in the days I had the Nike’s Free 5.0. My first minimalistic run experience and to this day still my favorite running shoe I ever wore.. sadly Nike changed their minimalistic shoes too much (and got the price too high)
For the laces just put a little bit of them on those shoes you talked about getting in those laces your brain will automatically remember and will eventually tell you hey there is a task you need to complete it's not done yet so you will finish it that's a nice trick you can do for everything.Just start and then your brain will do the later
I found a pair of vivo barefoot shoes in a charity shop for £4, they are exactly my size and they look pretty new! Always wanted to try the barefoot shoes for the toe box and knew that that was my only chance coz I can't afford them full price and bro they so comfy
