You can run two guitars into the Axe without any problem. But there are not three inputs, so you would have trouble doing the bass as well. You can't actually have any "loss in tonal quality" in the Axe with "too much" stuff. You either have great tone up until 100% CPU or you have no tone when you hit the high CPU warning. So it sounds fucking awesome all the way up.
man, that combination must feel like magic huh? awsome vid man! i appreciate someone on the tube to do a brief runthrough of the presets, instead of playing some crappy solo album bs that sounds like every other blues/fusion artist.
Okay, here's what I recognised... Jason Mraz - I'm Yours The Who - Pinball Wizard Van Halen - Running With the Devil Cream - Badge U2 - Bad Metallica - Fade to Black Yngie Malmsteen - Trilogy Suite Vertical Horizon - Everything You Want Metallica - Battery Again, there might have been something I was familiar with, but I just didn't recognise it here.
As always awesome presentation. What I would like to know is: How is the AXE2 performance when sharing one axe for an entire band of two guitars and one bass? Is the processor speed sufficient to do that without noticable loss in tonal quality? I've tried to find some information on that, but no answer so far.
What is your amplification soothe for the PA speakers? Ive been going back and forth on the axe, between frfr and a guitar speaker/head setup for a couple of years, with varying Satisfaction.
Nice to know. But how is the average CPU consumption for like adding an amp model plus a cab? Let's say I want 4 amps and 4 cabs in my patch. Two for the "stereo" guitar, one for the rhythm guitar and one for the bass. Afaik, the Axe2 has two seperate processors; one for amps and one for effects, so I assume adding some effects to the chains doesn't really matter in this case.
As always, awesome playing! I need to know more about your Strat...I see it's a real Fender, 21 fret neck...what model? American Vintage? Contemporary Mexican? True single coils or stacked humbuckers? Thick sound!
For the three input setting, I saw a video where someone used the left and right inputs as mono channels and used volume/pan blocks to seperate them into different chains.
is this thing as good as an amp? I mean, if you dream with having the ultimate rig, would this worth the buying instead of a mesa or marshall or whatever?
John Rider You can buy a powered speaker, a head and cab, or a powered full range monitor. You can really do whatever you want. But you need some kind of power for a speaker. The Axe is "just" a preamp.
I've got an amp-fx and want to run it as my live rig through a cab. Any suggestions on a power unit? I'm having a difficult time finding a power amp, and any help would be appreciated.
Yes, yes, yes. I`m running my Axe Fx 2 into 2 Alto TS112A PA speakers and the sound is much better than my old Mesa Roadster. I don`t know how that makes sense, but it just sounds better. I was jamming with my friend who`s a drummer and even he noticed how much better the Axe Fx sounded than my Mesa. In comparison, the mesa felt 'stiff'' and boring. Easily the best piece of gear I have bought.
Where did this guy get 3000 dollars to plunk down on this ?I need to figure out how that works first .Arent we in a collapsing economy or is it just me?!
sounds great. it Has to be able to DO high gain rythm before I would buy. ALL the other presets sound great. heavy rhythm....not so much... sterile...... digital.....

Two FRFR wedges, in stereo. MFC-101 foot controller with Mission Engineering SP-1 and EB VP Jr. for wah and volume, respectively.
I will be posting an Excel doc with every song listed next to the preset number when I get all the parts up.

I use Mackie studio monitors for amplification. So yeah, it's made in the Axe-Fx basically.
Do you know the title of the song played on 0:55 ? I've heard it in so many movies but I don't remember the title! Cool autowha effect also!
Marvin Gaye - Let's Get in On.

Axe Fx is such a cool unit.
Are you using a cabinet? Dont tell that the feedback can be made in the axe fx...or maybe tell me, i would be really happy haha
Sweet demo!
If you buy this can you just buy a speaker cabinet to go with it or do you have to buy a head and then hook the axe to the head?
