      This is Insanity, you put a ton of effort (thanks!) to help people get the type of sounds they want hear. It has now 8 likes and that's wrong. I don't understand people at times, a short stupid comment will get a ton of likes but something that guitar players need only 8? Truly appreciate that you put this up since it helps so much !!

      Raymond Upenieks No worries, man. You are right about my motivation - it was to make it easy to find sounds you like based on the artist and see the amp / present used. Worked for me 😊

    Cooper,
    1. what's the feel playing through this digital processor? Feels like playing through a real amp? (I used a digitech gnx4 many years ago, then a boss gt 10, never enjoyed the feel of the sound.. it never felt real.)
    2. Is there any lag when switching between patches?
    3. How does the feel of this compare to an amp like Hughes & Kettner Grandmeister 40?
    Please counsel.

    • @coopercarter
      @coopercarter  5 років тому +9

      1. Feels great
      2. Less lag than switching channels on any of my tube amps. Seriously.
      3. Feels just like it. You'd never tell the difference blindfolded.

      They're all Ernie Ball Music Man guitars. You're either talking about the JP6 or the Valentine, with the gold pickups, which is actually a Bucker and single coil.

    Very nice work, lots of effort put into this, BUT every single sound is a bit harsh with the highs (which makes it sound digital) ...
    I would add a high-cut filter in the general settings.

    I've played the lll and the Camerons are just monstrous. These tones are dialed in for this vid... but tweaking will ensue and bring these tones to places where your musical ear requires them. Fractal has eliminated the barrier, throw away your amp collection and invest in Boston Dynamic because the next phase of evolution is here

    Why if the modeling of Fractal amplifiers are so good, I still see the best guitarists in the world using their amplifiers? Orange, Mesa, Bogner etc. Including newer ones like Jake Kiszka by Greta Van Fleet, Scott Holiday by Rival Sons, etc.
    I'm not talking about the effects, just the amp models, cabs, etc.

      A ton of best guitarists use modelers though, most of them simply aren't in the types of genres that would actually benefit from a truly analog rig (ie: Zeppelin-esque classic rock, noise music, shoegaze etc)
      They're mostly in rock, metal, pop, fusion, and jazz, genres where you don't necessarily need any of the intense feedback or unique noise/sound generation capabilities that only a fully analog rig with a decent pedal and cab setup can give

    ok sense alot of comments but feel this needs said. impressive set of simulated amps that's a given. my problem with it is the additional cost compared to the Axe FX 2 I don't see it justifiable yet. I think it needs work before it has what should be there for the price. I think I will stick to getting the FX2 until the amps are cleaner. to me they sound too grainy fizzy and for the price I expected better sound quality over the FX 2 XL and it just isn't there and another comment hit the nail on the head as far as the clean tones I still feel the Line 6 Helix and Kemper are more believable so far maybe it's just me but this is my take all around on this ; quit spending time working with the trillion metal artists it's been worn thin and too many have got that part very very well and your price on the FX3 for metal tones isn't doable in any way and the clean tones aren't there yet so not for me yet not that it can't be. Fractal Audio you need to sit down with a blues man and have him run it through and ask what is missing for you ? I am a blues man and there is alot missing as of yet and over $3000 just isn't anywhere near worth it and I feel many artists that aren't metal shredders are going to be disappointed buying a used FX2 and all the additional preset packs you can a much more reasonable purchase so far. your playing was great just too monotonous would have preferred all original or on the fly to show what the Axe Fx3 can bring out of us this video says to me I will just want to play what has already been done and if we do that we don't end up making much money lol

    My question about this is what about latency? It’s digital so there has to be latency. You see people making a case for these fractals sounding just like tube amps but as a musician I’m more concerned about latency and the tiny drop in immediacy between hitting the strings and the sounds being produced

    • @coopercarter
      @coopercarter  5 років тому +1

      Good question. The latency is *very* low. I would say imperceptible. This unit is used live by many many very discerning, world-class guitarists who will tell you they can't feel a difference between this and their amp. Try it for yourself. I imagine you'll be pretty impressed.

    No one is even thinking about the Axe-Fx, we are all amazed at your versatility. I do have to comment on the AXE-FX though. The gain sounds are very, very good. Even though they have come along in their ability to create realistic clean tones, they are not yet close enough. All the clean tones sound like a simulator.

    • @MICKEYISLOWD
      @MICKEYISLOWD 5 років тому +1

      @@Nb0ssProductions They are not indistinguishable from the originals.And, furthermore the higher gain settings have a nasty nasal bump that is not possible to EQ out of the sound. Some of the Marshall mid gain sounds are good enough while others are way off.
      The Kemper really is indistinguishable from originals when recorded and doesn't suffer that mid range honk. Check out the Kemper vrs Axe Fx videos and there you will hear what I am talking about. The Kemper suffers in the FX side of things and so a high quality FX would be desirable IMO something like the T.C Gmajor or newer because when you have stella tone you MUST have the same in FX.
      If Kemper upped their game in the FX area then that would be perfect, Also there is the issue of how it feels to play through a digital device...I have a Carvin BelAir all tube twin combo and the tone of this thing blows everything out of the water and it makes the guitar 'feel' super silky which no Digi device can even get close.
