- The Audi CEO is doubling down on EVs. The problem is that Audi's E-tron vehicle remains overpriced and lackluster. Their electric cars are a far cry from what made the brand great to fans in the first place.

I misspoke and said "1100-thousand" for the e-tron GT... I actually meant one hundred eleven thousand. What are your thoughts on Audi EVs?
Audi was many of us' dream cars, once.
And now we are left speechless by Audi and this time, not for a good reason...
They just lost everything because of ELECTRIC-HYPE!

Audi is a perfect example of what happens when government dictates production. In Audi's case, they are loosing over a century of innovation and evolution that still stands as the engineering pinnacle of the ICE automobile. I find it tragic that all of this knowledge will end up in the dumpster of the green agenda. Meanwhile, consumers are left holding the bag of either lack of affordability, or pushed onto a technology that not only is not ready for prime time, but will cause regression in human progress. Time is proving this simple truth.
What innovation exactly??? Installing defeat devices? Colluding with other carmakers?

Audi left engineering excellence behind a long time ago. My 2019 Q8 was in for engine issues, electrical issues, transmission issues, several times. Maybe I was just unlucky but for the near $100k value, it was a big disappointment. Been with Tesla since and not planning to go anywhere else.
It's funny to me that your 2019 Q8 can be outclassed by the newcomer Tesla which says a lot about how far Audi is dropping the ball here. I think Tesla has the best EV ecosystem but they have their own set of problems depending on the model.
@@carsofmedicine For the price of the Q8 we bought two model 3's. It's also a question of expectations. For $45,000 buyers are more forgiving than at $100,000
It’s crazy because ICE Audi’s have all sorts of electrical issues. My friends with Audi’s have a ton of problems with things inside their car not to mention whatever else is going on mechanically. My only friend who truly loves Audi has her husband wrench on it so they don't have to take it into the shop unless it's electrical (which still happens and leaves her without a car). When I was shopping for an EV this last winter I wanted an Audi Q4 e-tron because I didn’t want a Tesla lol. So I did a bunch of research and from previous e-tron owners, the message was clear: STAY AWAY.
If you thought the electrical issues with ICE Audi’s was bad, the EV’s are worse. And since everything is electronic in the e-tron it compounds how bad it is. So, we stayed away from Audi because so many owners online only kept theirs for a year because it was a hot mess. It doesn’t seem like it’s getting any better either. They also have terrible resale value because of it so if you buy one, you’re not getting much out of it when you have to fix everything over and over again.
EVs = no oil changes, fuel filters, spark plugs, timing belts, etc, bringing you into the shop anymore, but those electrical gremlins will still earn the service department their revenue, lol. Also, agree that the resale value and depreciation of these things are wild. I can only really see lease deals followed by second-hand buyers as the business model

I loved my 17 a4 the b9 series were amazing super reliable bought minewoth 45k drove to 190k no issues what so ever before accident. the ev might be 💩but the newer s3, rs 3 gives me hope!!
My 18' S5 just rolled over 92k miles. Hoping it can hold out another 100k and maybe (fingers crossed) the RS6 prices will be reasonable by then LOL
I think the S3/RS3 is great, but I would need more space, knowing that I came from an A3.
