The Bass are HUNGRY on the Des Plaines River! (August 2024)

- It's been a while since my last outing to the Des Plaines River so I figured I would pay it a visit and wade to a spot that I have not had an opportunity to fish yet this year due to the water level simply being too high from all the rainfall this year. The bass (both largemouth and smallmouth) were more active than I thought they would be. I spent most of my time throwing around a Ned rig and a top water. Had a few pop off but was able to land most of them. I even had a chance to explore a new stretch of river too. Hoping to have more outings like this the remainder of 2024!
Well done. Too much fun 😎✌️🎣 Happy Fishing 🎣
good work
Love this video. Huge trailer on that Ned.
@kerrywedge6977 I know, I normally use those for Texas rig but I had to make the most of what was in my tackle box. It worked so can't complain
Greet video i just sub😎
Wow, that was a successful trip.
Tx for sharing
Can't beat that!
Watch for a muskie now and then!!
Hooking'em!!!
Ive fished this river, about half an hour south of where you're fishing, for about 5 years now. How do you figure out this river for pike/bass/saugar and such? Like how do you know what lures to use and most of all, HOW DO YOU AVOID ALL THE SNAGS
@DPR_Fishing Trial and error is usually the ticket to figuring out which lure to use. I've done well with topwaters, swimbaits, spinner baits, inline spinners and of course Ned rigs over the years. And trust me, I've lost TONS of lures and rigs over the years. Since I wear waders I can sometimes just walk over to the snag and free it
I got an extra kayak, live 20 min from Allison Woods if you ever want to join
@@christopherzimmerman6257 thanks, will definitely let you know!
