I used to own a 1997 hardbody. That thing was indestructable and also cheap and easy to wrench on. I miss it. I own a 2013 frontier, hopefully it lasts just as long.

Nice man! This video is great! Love the detail!! I have a 95 Nissan King cab Hardbody and I bagged the front about wow 2 years ago. I have been wanting to do the back but I don’t want to move the fuel tank to the back of the frame like so many do. I have been looking for a way to do it. I am interested in the rear kit for this. I want to no =t have to cut the bed but the longer I think about it the more Im thinking “screw it” just cut it. The front I did a RohdeFab front LCA triangulation kit. Best kit on the market for the hardbody’s. It gets rid of the tension rods. I did have to cut the front wheel tubs and make my own. And I also got a 95 Geo Metro brake booster which is much smaller.
@@DinasGarage nice! I was really happy with how the rear suspension turned out- it drives great at around 50psi, with about 90-95 in the front. I was prepared to triangulate the front if it needed it, but with the drop spindles we didn’t see any binding with the factory setup. Nicely done! There is a ton of work in this 1 video! I was considering buying those drop spindles, but it looks like the bump stops don't line up with a arms. Is that an issue with those knuckles?
@@NissanNut74 you’re talking about the steering stops? We cut them down on the new arms to prevent rubbing on the bags, but otherwise I believe they’d hit the stops at full lock.
Thoes kinda notches were trim to fit like old universal kits there was a lot of cutting involved but if you were doing a full sized truck you had enough to cover the top and bottom
There is a local exhaust shop in my area that works magic. They can make a v6 sound good. Even my 2.3 Isuzu will get head turns at idle. Everything thinks it’s v8 swapped.
Inspired by your video as I recently bought a 2001 frontier crew cab I also want to bag and do similar set up. Sad thing is I have not found any specific bag kit for it so may have to also modify any other kit for hardbodies
Looks damn good...but I think it's less about the particular vehicle and more about the 'lowered look', making its comeback. I lowered my Trailblazer 7 years ago and created a more aggressive stance with the right tire and wheel selection. Then just recently noticed that the area I live in has since become saturated with lowered vehicles of all types. There are still plenty of lifted vehicles running around but I've definitely noticed the recent trend towards lowering becoming more popular.

@@alonzosalinas3834 the official word is that you should definitely run shocks at all 4 corners with any suspension. But air bags have a bit of a damping effect to themselves- especially a bag with a thicker sidewall like the Slam Specialties model we ran on the front of this truck. When he brings it back for us to fit the new wheels I’m going to get some rolling shots driving around, to show how great this thing rides. You’d never know it doesn’t have front shocks.
Cool little build. How good does it drive without front shocks? Is there any reason you didn't put shocks in the front? Also, here's some useless information for you nissan d21/hardbodys over here (Australia) come new from the factory with a full boxed chassis.
@@runninlow9609 that’s an interesting fact- I wonder if the Australian market demanded the extra ruggedness? We were working to the customer’s budget, so I told him we’d skip the shocks and let him drive to see if he felt they were necessary. When this truck comes back to fit the new wheels I’ll do some driving around on video- you absolutely wouldn’t know it doesn’t have shocks. The rural roads around my area are terrible and this truck drives great. Slam Specialties air bags have thick side walls that add a bit of a damping effect to cycling motion, and in this truck’s case it’s all it needs to feel smooth and controlled. I know that wouldn’t pass tech in Australia, but we get away with it here!

Must not be factory paint with that amount of flake at 23 minute mark… and love that someone’s trying to help the hardbody guys as far as parts… lack of part for a diy is why I have yet to bag mine!

@@adamrensch8971 absolutely! I won’t have the truck back here until late next month when the new wheels are done, but basically you have two lines running to the valve from the front of the truck. Behind the passenger front suspension, you’ll find a three-way tee that connects the front brakes to the rears- disconnect the line that runs to the rear from that tee and plug it off. The other brake line that runs to the back can be connected to the brake hose that goes to the axle, and the rest of that valve assembly can be tossed! I hope that helps!
Checkout Rhode Fab for Hardbody custom parts. I miss the Hardbody days but my favorite bagged Nissan Hardbody style is the 4 door Pathfinder. I've only seen one in Mini Trukin and is why I bought a 95 but it was 4WD and got the offroad bug. I'm gonna buy a 4 door 2wd and start over.

Sometimes I sttrap frame to the arms of the lift for safety
