I have bread van that I converted to a stealth camper too. With the same idea of an outward appearance of a construction vehicle, with a fictitious company name, ABC Contracting and Consulting. My van got broken in to a couple of times, by people looking for construction tools. So I changed the name to, ABC Sewage and Septic Services. Nobody has broken in to it since.
Sorry that happened. My brother in laws work truck was broken into and all tools stolen. Very expensive loss for him. And it was around the covid Era. He was devastated. We all got together and each gave money to him. He eventually repayed everyone. His company is doing well and he had a baby girl. How precious. He went through struggle but he has overcome💕 maybe you should be featured on this channel? I'd love to see more of these vans.
As a 30 year UPS veteran I can honestly say this is my dream stealth camper. I could drive that and live in that until I turn into dust. This is by far hands down the coolest conversion I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing
Absolutely, I’ve worked almost two years as a UPS shifter, loading, unloading and washing their fleet. I could live in one for the rest of my days but they won’t sell them since they had a truck used in the committing of crimes years ago. So they send trucks to the crusher …. What a waste! Cool conversion - love it!
Yay ladders to steal. Jackpot ladders to use while stealing the solar panels. That thing wouldn't last 2 days in California without getting stolen and stripped. 😂
When the word “stealth” comes into play, exterior is everything. And this van lives up to it’s title. The ‘sewer-service” was a very clever solution. With your permission, I will use that for mine too. Thanks for sharing 👍
I can't compliment this build enough. It would be my dream RV. My dad drove a bread truck for over 25 years, and I'm seriously considering using one to convert. Great build, great guy, great tour!
My Daddy drove a sandwich truck "Made Right" for several years; he actually bought one years later and we converted it into a camper! It slept 6 people, had a fridge, stove, dinner table, sink and lots of storage (this was in the 80's). We used it mainly for going to craft fairs. My Memom (his mother) earned most of her income by making things to sell at fairs. Wonderful memories 💖
I love this! My dad converted a garden center Chevy Step-Van, in the 1970's, into a camper, too! It wasn't quite as nice as this, but it served our family of 3 for many years of fun.
Nice build! Great interior size and layout! The exterior paint job looks really good and is giving me the confidence to paint my tiny toy hauler home when I finish the interior reno. Brilliant installation of the solar panels. There's nothing that would give the living space away. Thanks for the tour, I really enjoyed it.
Out of all the builds I've seen this one ranks @ the top. When he crawled into his garage area and was able to sit up I was like "whooooa that is so cool" and he still had a lot of extra room to store more stuff. Nice, neat & very well organized. Awesome idea with the extension ladders. I do wish he would've elaborated a little on what the fabrication/covering material is on the roof. Looks very durable. He thought of everything and I was waiting on him to say some outrageous costs, but $10k made me smile. Heck yeah! New subscriber also. Your channel popped up on my radar. Great content!
i have always enjoyed watching bread style truck conversions, they are more spacious inside than most people realize so there is more room to build ..great job.
POSSIBLY the Best build ive seen(definitely up there at the top) and I've probably seen a couple thousand by now researching for when I do my own build.. Fantastic, the guy has thought of and included EVERY possible necessity/need while on the road! Attention to detail, second to none! Brilliant 👍🏴🇬🇧
i bought a 5-window minibus that the previous owner took out all the seats (good for me), but my regular insurance company insured it as a "commercial vehicle for personal use." That was being honest with the person I spoke with and telling him that my intention was to build it out as an RV/skoolie for myself. I was told that once I finished the build out, to submit the cost of the build and they would revisit the insurance, possibly changing it to an RV insurance policy. I think if you speak with the right person at most of the large, named insurance companies (Allstate, Geico, State Farm, etc.), they will be able to write an insurance policy that will work for you before and after your home on wheels is completed. Just my own opinion and how it worked for me..
What a beautiful "bread van"! You did a great job, congrats! BTW: I agree that the 5.9 Cummins and the Allison Trans is the way to go. I have owned 2 Cummins 5.9's and have been very happy with them.
Great idea with the solar panel mounts! I was going to sell my aluminum ladder but I think I’ll keep them for my build 😁…Great tour and awesome build … Thanks for sharing ✌🏼

When I was growing up in the 80's my dad converted a potato chip step van. We called it the swat van because when we would go camping between 4 and 10 kids would come climbing out of every window.
Maybe not. There's a big theft industry around construction, and vehicle break-ins are the most common opening fir that. Bad guys drive around looking for marked trucks and vans and things like this knowing how to get in quickly. They might be surprised to not find tools but they'll take what they can get and be rolling away within 3 minutes with everything they can grab. Should have left it looking like a bakery truck or a catering truck; stealth remains without indicating easy value for thieves is on board.
Great idea. I love the way you turned it in from a work truck to what you have now. This is a nice build! Not sure the jump seat would be comfortable for a long trip but, if it works for the wife that’s all that matters. I never thought about doing a build in a step van but it does give you a ton of room to work with vs. a regular cargo van so that’s a definite plus. We don’t have kids that travel with us so, we could use the extra bed space for a nice lounge area. Thanks for sharing your build and giving me so many ideas for how to design a space this size!
With those jump seats being sideways, the effectiveness of the seatbelt will be diminished, there will be no head/neck support to arrest the whipping motion of your head in an impact, and said head is quite likely to bounce off the adjacent wall and potentially cause a regrettable injury. May I take the liberty of suggesting a front facing arrangement? Also all of those cupboards would empty out and the contents would turn into missiles in an accident.
