    This is a really nice video. Additionally, I really hope that you in the future can show us how to disassemble the pumps from the car without having to use FAST. European owners have to do it themselves or pay someone to do it for them.

      @@thornaxx5939 From what I have heard, FAST is not needed. You can purge the air in the lines by setting the HVAC heat high and fan speed high. I hope to video a tech replacing my water pump in about three weeks.

    Great video! Saw a similar one recently, but it lacked the guide.
    I love our cars, but the more I see if these types of issues, the more I question the overall quality of the car...

    Always love your video even I'm not going to do that.

      Totally understandable!

    Thanks, very informative! Did you also spray the capacitors and other components at the center, on the top? That’s probably a good thing to do right? It’s a must to leave the pump opened so it can dry out for 24 hours?

      I didn't do the tops of the capacitors as the recall is for the R11 resistor. But while it's open, sure, why not. Yes, I would leave the pump open to thoroughly dry out.

    Excellent video, I have a question: Are all these pumps subject to recall/replacement or just the one you refurbished? Thanks

      @MTNRanger  5 днів тому

      Only one of the four pumps in the car is subject to the recall. In addition, only some of the pumps have the defect; most likely 90-95% are fine.

    Did you also de-solder and pull the board on a different one? I'm wondering if that wouldn't be a better option for a good coating application. Do you happen to know how many spots need to be de-soldered? I presume it's not just two...
    Edit: great video - thank you! Very glad this kind of content is available for the Fisker. I signed the papers on mine today.

      @@tmarbut I mention in the video that it is an option, if one chooses. The person that first developed this technique tested both methods and determined that going through the windings is easier and the results were similar. why not just get it replaced with a new one?

      @MTNRanger  6 днів тому

      I mention in the video that I have an appointment in a few weeks for a new pump. Stock of the replacement pumps are uncertain after the recalls are fulfilled. For cars with low miles, this is a good way to get use out of the existing pump. I'm keeping my refurbished pump as a back up.

      Great video! Does it make sense to sprey a second time?

    • @MTNRanger
      @MTNRanger  6 днів тому

      @@geriskater2657 I would focus on the area behind the two capacitors, that's where the resistor R11 that fails is located.
