Kevin Spacey Speaks After Jury Acquits Him of Sexual Assault

- Kevin Spacey was acquitted of sexual assault on Wednesday after the Oscar winner’s testimony as a witness in his own defence spared him a possible prison term and gave him a shot at a career comeback.
Speaking outside of court, Spacey told reporters: "I'm enormously grateful to the jury for having taken the time to examine all of the evidence and all of the facts carefully before they reached their decision, and I am humbled by the outcome today."
The not guilty verdict was delivered on Spacey's 64th birthday.
Three men accused the Oscar winner of aggressively grabbing their crotches.
A fourth, an aspiring actor seeking mentorship, said he awoke to the actor performing oral sex on him after going to Spacey’s London apartment for a beer and either falling asleep or passing out.
Spacey had faced nine charges, including multiple counts of sexual assault and one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.
The accusations date from 2001 to 2013 and include a period when Spacey - after winning Academy Awards for “The Usual Suspects” and “American Beauty” - had returned to the theatre, his first love.

How do you know the accuser isn’t telling the truth? Only 2% of sexual assault cases actually get a conviction because they are so hard to prove, and this is a historic case so it’s even harder. And no, most people don’t make this up. Not saying he’s guilty, I’m just saying how little actual rapists/abusers actually get convicted. So no, we should not start suing people for speaking up. It would only punish the innocents.
Kevin Spacey is another victim of the court of public opinion. I find it reprehensible that an innocent person's life and reputation can be turned upside down, and careers damaged so readily, by those who are too quick to jump on the rumour mill, and become judge jury and executioner without bothering to investigate any aledged " facts" first!
I am so glad that Kevin Spacey was acquitted ❤ And I am one of millions of his fans, who is looking forward to his return to making great movies again.

It's not the Me Too Movement. There have been many people who have been abused for real and never got justice in situations in which there was and is an imbalance of power. It's those that take advange of such a movement, for their own ends, that are guilty of wrongdoing. Anthony Rapp begin what began a snowball effort against Mr. Spacey. It's important that the public allow legal proceedings to take their course without presuming someone is innocent or guilty. Regrettably, we have always lived in a society that rushes to judgement going back to the Salem Witch Trials.

At the flick of a switch, the greats can fall, it’s like innocence or guilt plays no part at all as the deciding factor where the all powerful media is concerned. I don’t know how some journalists do their jobs and sleep at night after they’ve shredded someone to pieces on the strength of dubious accusation and before proper judgement has been passed. What a horrible world we live in, thank God this innocent man has the strength to deal with this catastrophic farce with grace and dignity despite losing a great deal. 🙏🏽

The difference in OJs case is that OJ was not proven innocent. There just wasn't enough evidence to get a conviction and thr trial became about race relations rather than solving 2 murders. OJ was then found legally liable for the murders after.
Kevin Spacey was found not guilty and was actually innocent of the accusations against him such as grooming under-age boys, forcing people yo stay, rejecting any declines on his advances and so forth.
