Beautuful results and very good explanation ! I’m about to make a chocolate cake and I need to pump it a little bit. Since I have isomalt sugar at home, I will definitely create this beauty too… or at least I will try! Thank you, have a happy weekend!🌺🌸❤️
Sorry I just saw your question! I have not tried, but I would think that maybe you would have to hold it in one spot too long and it may melt it? If you have tried it and it works, let me know ok?
Thank you;) if it is left in a cool dry place, it should last for quite a while. I leave them a little on the thicker side to be safe;) Humidity is the enemy.
Thanks for the tutorial. im from an asian country but mine was broken in to small pieces after few hours... 😥 should try another one and keep inside refrigerator...
@@madushanipeliarachchi6483 Hmmm my guess would be that maybe you needed to let it rest for just a minute before drapping the mat? If you let it cool down just a bit, it may stay a little on the thicker side and be stronger. I am afraid that the humidity from the fridge could melt it. Unfortunately Isomalt doesn't like the fridge in my experience;(
Help Mary ! I was trying to figure out how to do the "torn buttercream " and gold highlighting similar to this cake. I see the "torn" look with wafer paper but looking to do all buttercream! Do you have a video I'm not finding? Thanks a million ❤️
It may be just my tv, but your video loses sound right after the isomalt dries and you remove the mat. What are you using the torch for? Does it make the bowl more clear? This truly comes out stunning!!
Actually the isomalt needs to be hot or else it won't move. But be very careful as it can cause some severe burns if you touch it. I would suggest using heat resistant gloves. The only reason I didn't is because they were at work:(
How do you prevent it from being sticky? Because it’s summer where i’m from and i figured that if i place it in the fridge, it becomes foggy, so I just let it sit in the counter, but when I do, it becomes sticky. I don’t have a torch right now, so any tips?
This cake is beautiful! I am going to attempt to make this for my sister's birthday. The question I have is the amount of karo to use. You indicate 2 tbsp but it appears you actually put 4 in the pot. Please clarify this for me. I did a test and unfortunately it broke as I could not get the glass to release. Also, mine did not run very well, I used my torch and that helped. Please advise
You bet! It should last quite a while in a cool and dry environment. I am not completely sure exactly how long. I don't keep them around for more then maybe 3 days.:)
Hi! I find that the corn syrup keeps it more clear as it dries;) i not sure why it would be sticky? Maybe let it dry longer? Are you in a very humid climate?
@@sophisticakesbymary Well, I live in the north of England, it might be humid, I'm not sure. Can the corn syrup be replaced with glucose? I have tried different ways to make it not be sticky but everytime it is. Never put it in the fridge so that is not the issue. Thank you for taking the time to asnwer me
@@aldinyz hmmmm. Maybe too much water? I have never used the glucose with it, but it may be worth a shot! They are fairly similar. I do use glucose in the sugar sheets instead of cornsyrup and it works in that.
Tap water contains impurities that makes the isomalt look cloudy or discoloured. Apparently, using deionised water is the trick? Here in the UK we don’t have corn syrup so use glucose instead 😊
Love your video. It helps me a lot. But if I may suggest, please lower the music, because it's too loud. I prefer to hear your voice. Thank you so much 😁🙏
Yeah UA-cam won't allow the music to be any lower when you use their music for videos. Unfortunately that is the only way to be sure you don't get copyright strikes, so I have basically stopped using music unless I am not talking. I also can't change it once it has been published;(
Incredible...just beautiful. How much diluted fluid to gold luster do you use?
I don't actually measure, I eyeball it. I would start with about 1 tsp dust to 1/2 tsp liquid. Then adjust if needed.
ingredients:
•isomalt crystals (1 cup)
•torch
•color gels
•clear corn syrup or water (2tbsp)
•toothpicks
•tall glass cups
•heat resistant silicone mat
Thank you for sharing 🙏🙏. Where did you buy the silicone mat ? Thank you
I made an isomalt sail following your video and it turned out amazingly!! Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
Hi! Thank you for sharing.
Why do you add corn syrup to isomalt? Thank you
Passei muitos dias procurando essa obra de arte ❤
Hi. Your cakes are beautiful. I am trying to make this for an event. What do I do if u don't have the torch? Is there any alternative? Thank you.
A wonderful touch of elegance to top a cake 🎂

Amazing! I'm going to have to try something with Isomalt! Thanks for the tip about using corn syrup!
You are so welcome!
Estoy tan agradecida de haber encontrado tu canal. Muchas gracias por compartir. Saludos desde México ❤️
Hola México :) ¡Me alegra que me hayas encontrado también!
Beautiful!!
Your tutorials are amazing.
Glad you like them!
Thanks for sharing, I love the blue color. Can you put the blue color in before you take it out of the pan?
You sure can!
Beautiful beautiful beautiful 🤩 thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing your masterpiece, it’s absolutely beautiful!
Awww thank you so much:)
Hi Mary, instead of corn syrup I can use glucose syrup instead?
I beleive you can;)
This cake is amazingly beautiful 💙🤍💛
Love your videos. Question: will a heat gun work the same as a torch for clearing up the Isomalt?
Sorry I just saw your question! I have not tried, but I would think that maybe you would have to hold it in one spot too long and it may melt it? If you have tried it and it works, let me know ok?
@@sophisticakesbymary Thanks for responding. I did try it. Heat gun melts the drip. Have to be careful not to make holes. Helps a bit but not ideal. 😘
Greetings, did you use one cup of isomalt and 4 table spoons of corn syrup or did you use 2 cups of isomalt?

Hold on, I can't seem to get it to work🤪
Gold Highlighter Luxury Cake Dust, 5 grams, USA Made

Did that go thru? I am horrible with this!
@@sophisticakesbymary :-) don't see the link, but I google 'gold highlighter luxury dust' and was able to find it on Amazon! Thank you so much!

Hola mil gracias por compartir, una consulta yo no tengo el termómetro como podría saber si ya está listo el isomalt para hacerlo
Can you please tell me where to purchase that flexible silicone mat? Mine is too heavy to drape.
Beautiful sail. We don’t get corn syrup in England. What other substitute can I use?
Thank you;) I wonder if golden syrup would do the same thing? I think it is the same;) You can get that correct?;)
@@sophisticakesbymary can we use glucose?
Honest answer,,,,I don't know! I have never tried it and I could not find any info for you on google;( I don't see why it wouldn't.

Does anybody know if I can keep the isomalt sail on top of the cake in the fridge? or it needed to be placed just before the event? Thank you
I have never put one in the fridge so I am not sure. They do tend to cloud over so I would just leave it at room temp and place at the event.

Thanks for the glucose idea!
Bello, solo que hay una parte del vídeo donde no pude escuchar. pero voy a intentar hacerlo 😍

Can i put it inside the ref or room temp only?
Isomalt does not like the fridge unfortunately:( It can melt, so cool dry room is your best bet;)
What is the tool used for checking the temperature called?
That is an instant read infra-red thermometer.

Can i use sugar?
I actually don't know for sure, but I would think so! I have never tried to work with sugar beyond using isomalt.
How to storage it?

You can but I probably wouldn't. Isomalt is technically candy, but it can upset stomachs.
