Jeep Grand Cherokee AC/Heat FIX (Blend Door Actuator Explained, Hack and DIY)

- In this video, I finally show you guys how to fix the AC/Heater with the Blend Door Actuator for my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK. (I also show you guys a quick hack for the blend door actuator if you don't buy a new actuator.) This is a problem if you lose your heat in your Jeep Grand Cherokee or if you Jeep is stuck on heat and the AC is no longer working. It took me a while to figure out how to fix this issue along with diagnosing the problem. When I first bought my 2005 Jeep WK the heat was stuck on all of the time, I thought my AC was broken so I tried to recharge it. It turns out the AC worked fine, but the heater actuator was stuck on all of the time. Hopefully, this will help anyone looking to fix their AC or Heat in their Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Thank you for taking the time to make the vent door actuator video. I couldn't see the name of that part that the gear slides into. That was the part that broke on the passenger side of my jeep. Also, there's 2 actuators on the passenger side. One is by the console, opposite the driver side one and the other (I assume) is the air intake located behind the glove box. Thanks again and hope my comment helps someone looking for answers.

My new york brother i hate to say it but you will have to take the dash out in order to fix that problem. Just like doing a heater core job.. its a nightmare as to for i have done about 6 of them already....🤯 idk what year yours is but i doubt its any different then the other jeeps
2005 Jerp Grand Cherokee shows there is only 1 temperature blend door actuator.. Does anyone know if that is correct
What the white part called cause ts broke on me
If the actuator was busted on the driver side or if the shaft was broken, what would make the blend turn to a neutral state when turning off the car?
Because it works on resistance. High when it's cold, hot when warm. When you turn the vehicle off it kills power to the acentuator and it will return to it's home position. Breaking off the plastic shaft will leave it in home space; therefore- cold air. Heat is available, you just can't get it to where you desire. You could move the valve manually for a quick fix

See i don't have a heating problem my issue is when I turn jeep off o hear like a closing noise coming from the passenger side dashboard i only here it when im done driving and car is off
Mine was doing the exact opposite...mine was stuck more on the cold side...
Mines 2008 grand cherokee. It just stopped only hot. Neither wirk but ac was just charged. Mechanic said I got to take dash off😢

My AC works on driver side but is Room temp in all other vents. Any ideas?
It’s usually low on Refrigerant or it’s a blend door actuator issue
