I love it too lol. I feel (ik this is bad) that he’s right though. She’s going to seperate from her husband, and that’s when she’ll be able to find someone new. Then she can have her moment
As someone who got married at 19 (divorced at 20), that was hilarious. I swore up and down I would not be the statistic. But I was. Fully aware that it can work for people, but with all those red flags... Shayne has a point!
45:20 update is basically just that she told him she didn’t want the father to check her and he slapped her. She then ended things after that and she was safe at a friends house.
@@kitsunite197 tbf I understand if they didn't want to read the real update for the physical abuse alone, they have covered some pretty nasty stuff on this show but maybe this is deemed worse
45:26 - For people wondering about the update: Basically she stood her ground & told him no, & he slapped her, so she obviously left him - Said she left & was staying with friends - It was also 5yrs ago for those wondering Poor girl... but glad she got out early ❤
2 things I noticed about the second story; 1. She had a bunch of gifts from her coworkers/employers which meant that this wasn't an impulse decision to quit on the day. If she got gifts she probably handed in her (at least) 2 weeks notice and she was probably a centralised member of whatever place she worked at and she just dropped that. 2. Not long after OP left he gets contacted by his son asking why they're divorcing and breaking up the family. She wasted NO TIME in telling their kids that daddy doesn't love them and is changing their lives forever. Manipulation at its finest.
This. I feel like they are missing the point in how manipulative and completely disrespectful she is being throughout this whole thing. She does not get to make unilateral decisions for their marriage.
@@jaylynn8630agreed. it feels like they think the blame is on the both of them. i don't think an impulsive wrong decision (fleeing from the house) is comparable to a thought out plan which disregards your partner's explicit wishes ("I don't want you to be a stay at home mom" "well, fuck you then"). they even went so far as to call him controlling for that, I disagree on that
@@fi592y’all are cherry picking what they’re saying hard. They’re saying they didn’t communicate what they wanted from the marriage. Also leaving your kids is nuts, and he didn’t even call them back after the message of the crying. Obviously she’s manipulative they even said this but the dude LEAVING his kids is an asshole for leaving his kids. Both are at fault for not communicating what they wanted out of a marriage she’s at fault for strong arming him and doing stuff on her own which Courtney said.
As an adult, you do not bring children into adult problems. She clearly doesn't have the children's best interests at heart. Selfish woman through and through.
the trad wife story has a LOT more to it. He has a medical condition as well, and high stress makes it worse, he already works a lot and this is putting his actual literal health at risk. It's way worse then this bit you see here. The second update literally starts with: 'I suffer from a genetic heart condition that puts me at risk to stress induced cardiac arrest.'
This is what I was thinking, there has to be a reason why she can’t be a trad wife. She’s in the wrong but to me it was weird that he didn’t wanted her to when she “doesn’t” need to work. Now with his health issues males sence
@@marilishr5978he mentioned that he can support the family on his own but what he probably means is just they won't be going into debt but with his wife working also, they can provide a better life for their kids and plan family trips, nice birthday/Christmas presents, etc
It’s also just an aesthetic. It’s not actually what being a traditional wife is where your husband has little to no respect for you and you have no say in your own relationship because, traditionally, REAL trad-wives were just property.
Shayne is literally the nicest guy and when he said the line “She’ll have the experience of a real wedding the next time” was BRUTAL! 😂 I love it though.
In response to the tradwife story - it could be 100% me, but I've noticed a trend in some of the reddit stories commentary that puts a lot of responsibility on a person to essentially have a "better" reaction to being wronged, and effectively taking heat off the person doing the wronging...like yeah, the kids did not at all deserve to be caught in the middle of that, but the wife immediately telling them that he's divorcing her, and having the son call him? That to me reads as manipulation, after she already went behind his back to quit her job.
ya i've noticed that too. I think the cast likes to play devils advocate sometimes because reddit stories are kinda like thought experiments and it can be fun to think through all the sides. However I do think in that story the husband should have made sure his kids were ok because as a parent your kids should always be your top priority and sometimes you have to put aside your own (justified) feelings to make sure they are safe.
No, I agree. This reminds of a similar situation I've had recently with my friends. With some people like that, it seems like you can't do anything right. If you try to defend yourself you're a bad person and they try to pin it on you by saying you overreacted, but if you remove yourself from the situation in order to try and avoid arguments and to have some quiet time to compose yourself, you're still a bad person because you ran away from the problem and didn't give them what they needed in that moment?? I think what the Smosh cast said was understandable and I don't think they are trying to actively find ways to make certain people feel bad like some people are suggesting, I think that's just what they thought at the time, but you are valid in feeling the way you feel about it.
I do know what you mean, however, these are also more than anything hypothetical thought experiments in practice, and I think it's genuinely important to react well to these sorts of situations. Irl, I would absolutely understand someone not reacting well, and I would understand that that moment isn't necessarily the time to criticize, but understanding how one could have done better in a situation is valuable.
19:36 him asking what are you gonna do all day is totally valid, and Courtney tried to paint that as controlling? That was nuts and yeah sometimes these stories just aren’t that complicated
Rock in the hand and the snake in the bush. People will let go of the stable rocks in their life to "gain the loss" of negative value. Another way of saying, getting along with a toxic person is more important than having a stable relationship with a stable person. If you bet on the snake and it bites you, then it's understandable. If the rock grows legs and runs off, it's so shocking. People can't understand what happened.
On the trad wife story, in no way was it appropriate for her to convey to her child that daddy was divorcing mommy when he was out of the house for a day. That was emotional manipulation.
When I was pregnant with my son, I walked in on his father in bed with another woman and I left him. 30 minutes later he had his first son (not mine, but I treated as mine up until that point) and had his 4 year old crying in a voice memo on the phone asking me why I’m taking his brother from him. Really reminded me of that time in my life. I still hold guilt for leaving that little boy, but when it isn’t your child there isn’t much you can do
I got married young, to someone I'd known 11 months, and we've been together for over a decade and a half. My first thought was STILL, "That won't last." LOL
They even said it in the story, the problem wasn't that they married young it was that they rushed it. I think the op said it was after 5 months of dating. The reason being that op's sister wanted her father, who was ill, to be there. Which is understandable, but still a bad idea.
In regard to the Tradwife story, the wife also told the kids immediately after, no waiting at all. She couldn’t just wait until morning to come up with a better way to break the news to her kids or try talking to her husband again? She did that shit on purpose. She wanted the husband to feel like the bad guy to guilt-trip and manipulate him. Huge red flags right there.
My hope is that the messages can be used a evidence of alienation or emotional manipulation to grant OP custody, but considering he didn't even text his kid back, I fear neither of them are going to be great parents moving forward.
well, the husband was the bad guy. A grown man who is a father doesn't just storm out and leave his kids behind because of a disagreement with his wife
Yeah, she did not care how much trauma this would put on the children. She wanted them to cry, to plead, to guilt OP into coming back. When my parents divocred (and it was a bitter divorce), they told me together, calmly, and never used the 'your mum is leaving me' guilt trip
@@rickyricardo9710the wife literally quit her job without discussing with her husband, thus leaving the entire financial load on the husband even after he told her his thoughts on that. She didn’t discuss any further. She literally gave him the silent treatment. And then after the fact, talked shit on her husband to their kids when they are at the age that they know what’s happening. Sure he shouldn’t have left, but his wife literally manipulated him and went behind his back for who knows how long.
It was seriously beautiful. I imagine them walking down the aisle, with this experience having brought them closer together. OP in her wedding dress lit up with the joy of her special day, arm-in-arm with her beloved sister in gold/silver.
okay a little update on the tradwife story if anybody was curious: the guy did end up going back home for awhile and tried to be comfortable with this new arrangement for the time being. his wife promised him that she’d be looking for a job, but she never did. she quickly started neglecting the household chores and her own children. so on top of being the only one working a job, he was now having to cook dinner and take full care of his kids once he got home. one day he came home to his daughter crying in the other room and his wife doing nothing about it, which caused him to finally snap. he told her he was going to divorce her and she absolutely panicked and only started looking for jobs once he said that. he told her that he wasn’t going to fall for that manipulation and that he was leaving her. she ended up telling everybody that he was going to leave her and fully neglect the kids (which is not true at all), so everybody is against him. his own mom is threatening to disown him and his kids refuse to talk to him. he’s going through a really hard time and is really close to ending it all. i genuinely don’t think she ever wanted to be a ‘trad wife’ i feel like she just wanted to stay home and do nothing. i really hope it gets better for him 😭💕
@@Rashadmckai think you’re right about these being filmed a month in advance (might be wrong) but even then that means they just chose not to read the updates because they were written about three months ago
The tradwife story boils my blood. The son shouldn't have even been able to leave that voicemail because the wife shouldn't have told him his dad was abandoning them. She's so manipulative, and from the updates I read, she didn't want to have traditional roles. She just wanted to be lazy, not work and live off of op which is extra shitty to decide solo especially while he hates his job too and has a heart condition. She's the definition of someone not being a partner in a relationship. What the fuck?! The hymen story is so disturbing on so, so many levels. So glad the reddit comments told her to run!
@davidorozco6989 I feel like they usually show bias against asshats actually, but opinions vary I suppose. Eta - by they I mean these 3 specifically but I do tend to agree with their takes most of the time. Obviously other cast members and guests have different views and your not gonna agree with someone on everything 🙂
@@orozco6989i think it depends on who’s in the video not everyone at smosh is gonna have the same opinions or bias’s or views of some stories and there have been some bad bias’s in these videos but thats just gonna happen when you put your immediate opinion out on the internet
RE: The guy who didn't want to babysit his nephews on vacation. If there's one thing I've learned in my life, the "keep the peace" mentality just enables toxic behavior. Good on him for standing up for himself and the parents for changing their perspective.
as an aunt of 3 girls and a baby boy, i felt that story. whenever i go to my sister's house to hang out with her and her kids, i have to play this parent role. i have to change the baby, feed, burp, put him down for a nap, play with him, love on him, while my sister scrolls on her phone. its a lot, and he's a good baby, but she has a 4 year old daughter too. so now i have to play with her, make her dinner, potty train her, bathe BOTH of them, its a mess. her and her bf do nothing when im over. i dont mind watching them every once and a while, but im NOT their parent, im their aunt. i love them with my whole heart, the problem isnt them, its my sister.
Exactly. Like no one would assume instantly when Dad has to go do something that it means their abandoning them, it’s clear manipulation from the wife.
I went to comment exactly that. Could the father have handled this more elegantly? Sure, yeah. But the wife speedrunning telling the kids about the divorce is absolute garbage behavior.
All these reddit stories where the parents/families want the OPs to just endure poor treatment to "keep the peace" always makes me think of the Ultron quote from Avengers 2: "You're confusing peace with quiet." These OPs have already lost their peace in these situations. When their family members tell them to "keep the peace" they're really saying "suffer in silence" in a way that lets them feel like they're not being selfish and it's disgusting.
2nd story. The father did not abandoned his kids. He was so angry he left. He was mad at his wife and it sounds like she enabled the kids to message him. He left his kids with his wife. Thier mother. Parents are only human and need space at times too. The wife sounds like a badd trip
@DannyT-is-free You’re missing the point. They basically arrived at the conclusion “it’s complicated”. This was 1000% the wife’s fault, especially once you factor in the updates, and they still ran damage control for her with the vague “communication” excuse.
That hymen one is wild! Not only is it disgusting and horrific in many ways, but dude didn't bring it up to her until the day before their wedding?? I'm so glad she left him.
I mean technically OP said he mentioned it way earlier but she assumed it was a joke. these are the sorts of 'jokes' you need to clarify are in fact 100% jokes.
I love how arasha is always so empathetic to the emotions behind people’s actions. Not okaying what they’re doing necessarily, but just understanding that the emotions are valid. She’s my fave on these
So if anyone wants to know the update. Basically she told him no. He said if she really loved him she would do it and accused her of lying about being a virgin and slapped her when she said no again. She left and broke up with him. And was chilling and eating pizza. Dodged a huge bullet there.
The update on Story 3 actually made me so emotional, the two of them reconnecting, and talking to each other and her picking her sister to be the one who walks her down the aisle because their dad couldn't be there. I was crying :_:
This is a reminder for people who have... distasteful family members. The quote is actually "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." Meaning the relationships you cultivate and forge are stronger, and more important, than the ones you are forced into through family ties.
This is a good quote to remember. If you like your family it might be because they (and you when older) cultivated a healthy relationship with good dynamics and respect. Theres no need to be just because theyre family.
Unfortunately no thats not the original quote the claim of that comes from like the 1800s the real quote is much much older That said the revised version is much better and more accurate
So it means the exact opposite? I used to think that "blood is thicker than water" meant family bonds are stronger than friendships. I like the new quote though, it makes more sense, reminds me of another quote "family are just friends you don't get to choose".
@@alistairmurray626 the old quote is the correct one but the new one is better The idea of this new version being the original comes from the 1800s compared to the og quote which is far older
This is the quote I live by. Chosen family > blood family. Always. Though I know I'm fortunate enough to be in a position I don't need to rely on my family, so I don't have a problem cutting then off if it comes to that. However that might not be the situation for everyone else.

The rest of the updates for the brother removing himself from babysitting on family vacation are EPIC. They end up actually going on a vacation. OP gets his own room on a floor separate from his family and doesn’t let his family know which room is his. Sister tries the entire vacation to offload the kids on him, and he just refuses to let that happen. Finally BIL finds out that his wife has been doing this as well as the fact that OP never actually agreed to do the babysitting many times in the past. Sister had told her husband that she had been paying OP and that OP wanted to do the babysitting. BIL genuinely thought just this time OP wanted to enjoy his own vacation, but obviously found out his wife had been lying to him. BIL puts sister in her place and basically threatens to leave her if she doesn’t just take the responsibility as a parent to their own children. BIL and sister were fully in charge of their kids the whole time after that, and BIL is actually a very engaged parent.
@@MrJpaynebb they have to consider time. They would only be able to do one or two stories if they did the whole thing. They’d probably just want more stories rather than long ones
As a full-time stay-at-home mom, it's a lot harder than the "trad wife" trend shows it. I totally agree with what they are saying. The way Tik-tok presents it is so idealized and not accurate. Also, it HAS to be a mutual decision. The only reason I can be a SAHM is because my husband gives me the support and help that I need and I trust him to share my struggles knowing he won't judge me for not "working". It's difficult, and unless you are together on the choice, then it will break you.
Exactly, stay at home mom was already a term... just seems like a way to mask their true intentions which is "I dont want to work, i want to sit at home all day".
Exactly! As a SAHM, I'm drowning in my to-do list while also trying to give my kids the attention they need. I'm actually excited for my youngest to start kindergarten, so I can start to catch up.
with the house wife one why did the wife even MENTION that he wanted a divorce to the kids? she 100% told them so they’d get upset and try to convince him to come back. super manipulative.
My problem with the tradwife story is she basically said "I choose for you to support me and our kids financially 100%" which isnt right. Having an excess of funds is a good thing always.
@@orozco6989 More on the update, she did it to be lazy. She didnt even hold up her end of the bargian of being a "tradwife" that she forced. She was ignoring her kid. She wanted him to put in more than a 100% because working that much would kill him, and she didnt cook, clean, or take care her kids, which means he would to do his own chores himself while actually potentially working to death, while so contributes nothing.
Yeah i dont know why the smosh members were acting liek it was more "equal" than it really was. Yes, the dude was wrong for leaving but cmon what the wife did is super not cool
Also, i wonder why the smosh memebers go so easy on the women posters but kind of question the male posters. Like making more suggestions, saying oh he could have done this, or whatever, whereas for female posters they seem to be more cut and dry with the judgement? Not sure tho
@xxaavviieerrrrr yeah I'm not surprised at all divorce crossed his mind, major breach of trust and then a good bit of manipulation to boot. They'll be divorced in 5 years with this dynamic regardless.
Man, when Shayne said “In families, if they’re single they’re treated like they don’t matter” hits home. I live 8 hours away from my parents, so when I take a vacation to go home to visit, I want to spend time with them and relax. But I’m always getting roped into chores. Last time, I helped my dad haul a ton of stuff to the dump, repainted parts of the house, and helped replace a ceiling fan. Meanwhile, my sister and her husband live less than 5 miles away from them, my parents cook for them and watch their son several times a week. I asked my parents why sister and brother-in-law don’t help and I got told, “Well, they are just so busy, we don’t want to bother them”.

Shayne came close towards the end, "who knows what she's telling [the kids]", but didn't hit the mark. huge respect for the sister in the 3rd story for coming clean the second she realized that what she was doing was wrong and hurting someone else, it takes a lot to admit something like that and the way that story ended genuinely made me want to cry just from how sweet it was and im not typically one to cry at just a story like that

The tradwife theres an update. OP reveals he has a hearth problem one of the reasons he avoid conflit and why he don't want to work more, for health issues, and also wanting to expend more time with his kids. Them he was pressured to try the tradwife with her, she did nothing in the house and spend all day on the couch. He then initiate the divorce, the wife manipulate the kids against him, now they dont want to talk to him, his whole family is against him. Dont know why they did not read the update.
I knew I wasn’t crazy! I remember this story, there are multiple updates. My memories kinda foggy but I think the wife continued to be abusive, leaving the husband to do house work as well. The OP, I believe, had to record her saying she didn’t care about him or the kids to reveal how abusive she really was.
There’s actually many more updates to the story with the brother and sister with triplets. If I remember correctly they go on a trip and the brother pays and travels himself. He doesn’t tell anyone which room he’s in or even what floor, the staff are told to not give out his information. Sis still had plenty of tantrums and was miserable because no one babysat.
It all comes out and he keeps posting everything every time they are brats to him. They see the posts and get upset that he's posting. He agrees that he won't post if they don't give him material. It calms down. Turns out sister is just a brat and her husband HAS been helping the whole time.
The sister even spends hours following OP to find his room. Also the mother's manipulation comes out, how she always got OP to "keep the peace". I think the husband ended up forcing the sister to pay OP all the money she kept for herself.
As a SAHM of 12 years with 2 kids, TikTok has glamorized it so much! I do not have that aesthetic home that is so pretty and organized. I do not take my kids to the park everyday. I clean and homeschool and cook and clean and help manage bills and clean and homeschool and keep everyone alive. It is a job. I’m the last one to bed and first one up. It has its beautiful wonderful benefits, but it also has its difficult side.
One thing people don't often talk about with the trad-wife trend is how dangerous it can be. These women are entering relationships where the power is all at the hands of the man and they are "supposed to submit" to them. It can straight up lead to abuse (financial, emotional, physical, etc), like, one of these famous trad-wife influencers recently came out telling her story about how this dynamic is super romanticized in social media and she ended up in an abusive relationship because of it.
It boggles the mind that people would willingly give up financial, social and emotional sovereignty because someone on tiktok said it would be fun and easy and sooo 50s Americana, ignoring that the 50s was rife with normalised domestic abuse and giving up that sovereignty is a really massive deal. Being entirely beholden to someone else's employment is bonkers. What if your husband gets made redundant or let go in an at-will state? At least in a two-earner household you've got a mild level of protection against that, with the other partner still earning whilst the out-of-work partner looks for a job.
There was a reddit story about a woman who was with some guy for like 30 years and he always refused to get married, and then he proposed after 30 years and she broke up with him and she seemed absolutely clueless to the fact she was completely dependant on him and had no work experience or money.
Internet literacy is very important. Those woman often have jobs that aren’t just influencer jobs, one of them was even a parralegal and most of them don’t have kids.
The people who enter these dynamics are the type to not thinking will happen to them. I feel like she was banking on him sharing completely (and not abusing his power) so she can have the "benefits" influencers presented to her.
You would not believe the number of people who keep falling for it despite how many women have been abandoned and left with nothing. Men are very fickle and the stories of them abandoning their families are NUMEROUS. They don't even care about their kids or the situation they put their wife in they just move on and nothing changes for them.
My mom was a stay at home mom/wife with 5 kids and she did so much. We had a massive back garden where my mom grew loads of different fruit and made tons of jams too. My dad had 2 allotments and grew all the veggies (he was also a gardener) and mom made her own pickles and chutneys etc. I don't know if you'd call my mom a tradwife or not as she did all the childcare, housework, knitted all of our jumpers and made almost all food from scratch, but she used to earn her own money too. She used to do alterations/repairs for the local dry cleaners, she'd knit and crochet jumpers and cardigans to order and she also made novelty cakes to order too. Either way, both of my parents were very happy and it worked well for them. It must be a two-way street and discussed openly and honestly xxx
Stay-at-home mom here (of a 2.5 year old and a 1 year old) and the Trad Wife trend is absolutely glamorizing it all. Before we even had kids, my husband and I agreed to me being at SAHM because that’s what we BOTH wanted. I just really appreciate that you guys acknowledge that being a SAHM is a lot of work (especially when your eldest has a rare genetic disorder who needs to see specialists often) and it’s rarely ever aesthetically pleasing. I absolutely love what I do every single day and it’s hard work that I wouldn’t trade for the world! My husband even is in full support of my little Etsy shop on the side to help raise awareness for my son’s syndromic disorder (Cri du Chat Syndrome) and that donates to an organization (5p- Society) that does a lot for the community! It’s just so important to talk with your spouse especially if you don’t agree on something. There’s always a compromise somewhere!
For those curious about the update they didn't read: OP told her fiencé she wouldn't do it, he got angry at her, accused her of not being a virgin and slapped her. She left him after that. There's nothing more of the update.
19:36 yeah but what is she going to do all day? Imagine if anyone else was just like hey I don’t wanna work anymore. I’m just going to stop working and not have any income. You wouldn’t be like.“OK cool follow your dreams!”
That brother babysitting his sisters triplets story has way more updates and gets nuts. One crazy thing that comes out is that OP's sister was getting money from her husband to pay OP for babysitting but she was pocketting the cash.
I eloped at 19 years old😂😂 Me and my husband got married in my childhood best friend’s grandparents’ front yard, in a white sundress, and my childhood best friend got ordained the day before so she could marry us😂😂😂 About 7 years later my SIL had more of a wedding with a full wedding dress, decorations, bridesmaids and groomsmen, and all of both of their families attended; I wouldn’t have DREAMED to ask her if I could walk down the aisle for “my special moment”🙃🙃🙃 I do want to do something special, but we’ve been saving for our 10th anniversary next year to do so. It still won’t be huge, but it’ll have our families and I’m making a beautiful, crocheted, black wedding gown. The audacity of some people blow my mind.
Crocheting a Black wedding Dress? You are Soo cool!! It took me such a long time to make a shirt I cant imagine a gown. I hope you have an anniversary of your dreams next year

I feel dumber listening to their opinions about the trad wife. The wife is in the wrong. Period. You don’t quit your job and tell your spouse that they’ll get over it.
@skintagathahotness8456 they've done this on several reddit posts that they read. The woman will clearly be in the wrong, but the group tries talking themselves into believing the guy must also be wrong somehow.
@@deviatetaco3757 Where are y'all getting that they made the guy out to be the bad guy? The worst they said about him was that he shouldn't have ghosted his kids, and that for some people being a trad wife is what both people want. Oh god I remember reading about the tradwife story on BoRu, and it was so sad. I feel so bad for the guy, and his ex is such a manipulative…and the fact that the courts basically ruled in her favor. It just got my blood boiling from all of the injustice this poor man has to go through.
He was seriously put in such an unfair situation, and the comments from the Smosh cast felt genuinely kinda disrespectful, it really upset me how it was continuously the husbands fault for “not trying harder” but the wife quitting her job was just a quick lil footnote to them.
@@AVesselOfFleshto be fair tho it’s not a good idea to leave ur children with a manipulative mother without informing them first. she is going to brainwash them
"Ya'll just want a peep show, GET OUTTA HERE!"-Courtney, bringing that Danny DeVito energy. LOVE it!!! 🤣...I guess the reason why I don't usually totally get the sibling stories with parents involved is because with every one I hear I just hear both my parents saying "Work it out yourselves. You're told old to be asking us to take sides." My parents are divorced, and have many differences, but I can guarantee unless it was something that involved our safety or health, my parents would both remain neutral and tell us to figure it out amongst ourselves and refuse to get involved.
Idk how Arasha could say there was ‘so much fairness on both sides’ in story 2, when it seems that the wife was consistently pushing her husband and being unwilling to negotiate, then gaslighting him about the no sex thing which is insane, and then straight up quitting her job all of a sudden without telling him which is a HUGE deal when u have kids to support, and then immediately try to get the kids on her side telling them about him wanting to divorce her instead of even waiting a moment to inform their kids about it. It doesn’t seem she spent a moment considering her kids, who could use the money to go to school which is so expensive, she only thought about the lifestyle she wanted.
Man wanting the woman to have her hymen checked by his family is literally asking her to be sexually assaulted by his family. Disgusting, horrific, and unacceptable.
So he wants to inspect his sons future wife's hymen..dear lord if they ride a bike or a horse.. my daughters popped slipping on grass..Boom down on her bum .. blood freaked her out for a sec but I told her it can break other ways
Another quality episode of “Shayne Reads Reddit”. First and foremost, both Arasha and Courtney calling out the Hymen is a myth stuff… *chef’s kiss!* As a guy, even I know, that OP basically dodged an SA Attempt! Secondly, the brother threatening to unalive his brother, and changing the locks?! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?! Lastly, I absolutely do NOT blame the brother who told his sister that he wasn’t gonna be a babysitter for her 3 kids for free. I’ve been there with my sister, and after 1 year, I was like, “Nope! Screw that!”
For anyone wondering about the update they didn’t want to talk about summary is that he didn’t trust her when she said she was a virgin and after she said that if he respects her to trust her and he slapped her. She broke it off right there and that was all that was written.
The IRONY of wanting to be a tradwife, while trying to force your husband into the lifestyle is crazy to me lol. You wanna be "traditional"? That means submitting to your husband and doing what he says. She's clearly not ready to be a tradwife if she has no consideration for a husband's feelings. 🤷♀️ (Not like I like the lifestyle myself but people like what they like).
I'm pretty sure that in the trad wife story, the mom was the one who told the kids that their father wanted a divorce and put them on the phone to use as tools of warfare. I think it's unlikely that they'd be knowledgeable enough to know why he left or that he was going to be gone for a while.
it has been said that she has helped into looking into stories to add as well. so they probably both do it or sit and read them back and forth when they find good ones... which i find more wholesome lol

The nerve to slap her!!! The whole thing is so gross. I’m so glad she got out of there.
Is the update still there or is it removed? I couldn't find it!!
2 things I noticed about the second story;
I think the biggest issue is her bringing the kids into it. That says so much about her characters. :/
the trad wife story has a LOT more to it. He has a medical condition as well, and high stress makes it worse, he already works a lot and this is putting his actual literal health at risk. It's way worse then this bit you see here. The second update literally starts with: 'I suffer from a genetic heart condition that puts me at risk to stress induced cardiac arrest.'
yup, i think all these stories have full update chains to conclusion
Omg she's aiming for the insurance money or some shit

THANK YOU! FINALLY SOME COMMON SENSE!!!
I still hold guilt for leaving that little boy, but when it isn’t your child there isn’t much you can do
This! She had no right to. But after reading the updates on Reddit, she used that manipulation all the way, the son is fully against his dad now 😭
it sadly only got worse in the updates posted by op afterwards
That's what I thought. Low-key she seems awful. Manipulative to her kids and husband
I got married young, to someone I'd known 11 months, and we've been together for over a decade and a half.
My first thought was STILL, "That won't last." LOL
My dad's parents were the same except they're over fifty years now. And I also thought the same.
Same story with me, met my husband at 19. Still together. But that couple absolutely won't last
They even said it in the story, the problem wasn't that they married young it was that they rushed it. I think the op said it was after 5 months of dating. The reason being that op's sister wanted her father, who was ill, to be there. Which is understandable, but still a bad idea.
Married at 17, engaged ten months, married 15 years. Same 😂

@@THEDubbleHelixx yeah…not much of a silver lining in that situation.
well, the husband was the bad guy. A grown man who is a father doesn't just storm out and leave his kids behind because of a disagreement with his wife
Yeah, she did not care how much trauma this would put on the children. She wanted them to cry, to plead, to guilt OP into coming back. When my parents divocred (and it was a bitter divorce), they told me together, calmly, and never used the 'your mum is leaving me' guilt trip

okay a little update on the tradwife story if anybody was curious:
the guy did end up going back home for awhile and tried to be comfortable with this new arrangement for the time being. his wife promised him that she’d be looking for a job, but she never did. she quickly started neglecting the household chores and her own children. so on top of being the only one working a job, he was now having to cook dinner and take full care of his kids once he got home. one day he came home to his daughter crying in the other room and his wife doing nothing about it, which caused him to finally snap. he told her he was going to divorce her and she absolutely panicked and only started looking for jobs once he said that. he told her that he wasn’t going to fall for that manipulation and that he was leaving her. she ended up telling everybody that he was going to leave her and fully neglect the kids (which is not true at all), so everybody is against him. his own mom is threatening to disown him and his kids refuse to talk to him. he’s going through a really hard time and is really close to ending it all.
i genuinely don’t think she ever wanted to be a ‘trad wife’ i feel like she just wanted to stay home and do nothing. i really hope it gets better for him 😭💕

The most gross part of the trad wife story to me is that it seems like the wife immediately told the kids that he was divorcing her
Yea because his actions aren't the worst part lol
such a red flag honestly
And having the children send a voice message crying to him?
All these reddit stories where the parents/families want the OPs to just endure poor treatment to "keep the peace" always makes me think of the Ultron quote from Avengers 2: "You're confusing peace with quiet." These OPs have already lost their peace in these situations. When their family members tell them to "keep the peace" they're really saying "suffer in silence" in a way that lets them feel like they're not being selfish and it's disgusting.

Unfortunately no thats not the original quote the claim of that comes from like the 1800s the real quote is much much older
That said the revised version is much better and more accurate
So it means the exact opposite? I used to think that "blood is thicker than water" meant family bonds are stronger than friendships. I like the new quote though, it makes more sense, reminds me of another quote "family are just friends you don't get to choose".
@@alistairmurray626 the old quote is the correct one but the new one is better
The idea of this new version being the original comes from the 1800s compared to the og quote which is far older

The rest of the updates for the brother removing himself from babysitting on family vacation are EPIC. They end up actually going on a vacation.
That brother in law sounds like a legend.

As a fellow SAHM, thank you!!
This! It's not just baking and looking pretty, most of the time I'm an overstimulated hot mess 😂
Exactly, stay at home mom was already a term... just seems like a way to mask their true intentions which is "I dont want to work, i want to sit at home all day".
Came here to say just this!
Also OP had heart problems and couldnt work more (Updates)
The silly part of me is insisting that this is the perfect time to implement the fake dating trope 😅

The Tradwife story though, I can't believe nobody's pointed out that she weaponized their son against him. Shayne came close towards the end, "who knows what she's telling [the kids]", but didn't hit the mark. Yeah he bailed on them too, but how and why would the son be calling him saying the stuff he said, unless mom fed him some part of the story and put him up to it?

The tradwife theres an update. OP reveals he has a hearth problem one of the reasons he avoid conflit and why he don't want to work more, for health issues, and also wanting to expend more time with his kids. Them he was pressured to try the tradwife with her, she did nothing in the house and spend all day on the couch. Poor guy That's devastating
It’s likely the update wasn’t posted at the time of filming, thank you for summarizing it in the comments!

Also the husband gave her money to pay the brother for babysitting, and she would buy them a pizza and take the rest of the money
"Stacey is going to get her opportunity when she gets married again" I FELT THAT.
