- Hello ! In this video, I complete (using TAS) 1-3 and its secret exit following the TJC rules. You can find these rules in the description of my 1-1 True Jumpless video.
In this video, I use the same methods of gaining height as seen in the previous levels.
Since Mario only has 2 lives, I keep him in a bubble until the end of the stage, while the others do the work.
I make my way through the levels and up to the yoshis. They don't serve a real purpose other than allowing me to do a cool 1-up trick that is actually useful because of the lives limitation.
Here, the path branches. On the normal exit, I continue and get to the last gap, where I have Luigi and Mario on a platform, and I need one of them to be on top of the other in order to complete the stage. However, the gap is pretty large, so I first send mario to the bottom ledge and place it at the very edge of the platform. I take a maximum running start on the platform as luigi and start falling. But this is not enough to make it on mario's head ! So I make mario crouch to reduce his hitbox, and only then can Luigi bounce on Mario until the flagpole.
For the secret exit, I get up to the high ledge, and I make Mario wait in the little alcove for the bubbles to come up. I then stack them all, make my way up and send toad to the top using a stacked bounce. from there, I can finish the level without anymore troubles.

Only 3 episodes in and we already have a time line spilt, the lore of the no jump challenge is getting deeper.

Especially when we find the secret power of toad: switching place instantly. It hyped me so much I could not have noticed that they can also kill enemies when they are two by going under them, can't wait to see the next episodes

The fact that yellow toad gets killed by the camera automatically zooming in at the end of the level is hilarious.
2:51 I think you've got this backwards. Yoshi dies in the pit while Toad lives, not the other way around.

If there's one thing this challenge demonstrates (other than the TAS community's determination to complete arbitrary challenges), it's how *insanely* long that timer is.
Seriously though, if you can stall on it that much why even bother? Lol
The secret exit looks pretty dangerous, since there's nowhere for the other two to spend their last lives they'll be stuck with only one for the next level.
he cant even use the cannons, in order to use cannons you have to get every player into the cannon, and seeing as there are no enemies or pits to die with in any of the cannon levels its impossible for all of them to get into any of the cannons, so he pretty much has to play the entire game
@@eugenekrabs141 Oh yeah lol. Actually it seems impossible to even get ONE of them into the cannon. Given that the layout is literally just an upward slope.

even though he cant use the cannons he still got the secret exit just because, i love this series
he might be able to do *something*, but i dont remember anywhere you can die on cannons, havent played in years

3:52 my entire life, I thought that touching the fire that yoshi shot would still kill you!
Before, we used to drop Yoshi so the player could get on the other side of big gaps
Today, we use the player to get Yoshi to the other side 2:54

I’m sure there might be a few that would require the helicopter power up and couldn’t be reached by stacking
You'd prob need the propeller suit for some of them
But motion controls are not allowed, so the propeller won't actually be of any use.
The bah’s and the enemies dancing to them alone make new super Mario bros’s theme the best

this is so cool to see, every single part in the level is super organized and planned to a perfect execution in the TAS and the fact that you manage to get so high with so many restrictions

This challenge makes you realize just how absurdly long the time limit is for these levels. Great work as always!
beating the level after the secret exit will be pretty rough due to everyone but yellow toad having 1 life
he cant even use the cannon seeing as all players have to get into the cannon and there are no enemies to die on or pits to fall in, who would have guessed that the hardest level in jumpless would be the one its legitimately impossible to die to in the base game
IRC, you can loose all lives, and then you get 5 back next level.
@@bugdracula1662 yeah, that’s what they’ve been doing in the last 2 levels, but since the secret exit has 3 characters on 1 life and one dead, next level will have 5-1-1-1 lives

@@busofselfdoubt but also exactly 99 coins, so if he times the first coin he collects just right, he can use deaths to his advantage and *still* have multiple players

Love this series. Extremely interesting and not something I'd ever thought would be as entertaining as it is.
One thing, please check your audio levels before you finish the editing process, this is EXTREMELY loud lol. I had the misfortune of having the audio slider maxed out and.. yea GG ears. They could probably be -15db and still be perfectly fine.

Normal route Mario’s journey is said to be one of the greatest legends of all time after spending many years in bubble prison he was finally freed and he made the sacrifice so his brother Luigi could go and save the princess (and that’s the story of how Mario died because the gang didn’t feel like jumping)

fun fact: this isn't needed. you can actually jump by pressing the A button, or the 2 button with no nunchuck, making this much easier. hope this helped!

Mario's 1st death is at 559, and he isn't revived until 271 (Normal) or 294 (Secret).
Luigi finishes as lone survivor on normal at 255.
Luigi finishes at 182 on secret.
Time Mario was in bubble in Normal / Time in Normal overall: 288/345 (~83.4782608696%)
