Great accurate review. I will say the developers did a great job coming up with an original game. It seems like sequels and remakes are all to common. It was very refreshing fighting as a 17th century ghost buster.
Thanks for the great review, i dont know how you are so prolific, i couldnt play games at the pace you do. I end up not finishing a solid amount of games i start because they just dont always hold my interest, your reviews help me narrow things down. Great job! If you turn night mode on it fixes the gunshot sound issue you were having while still allowing the sound cues to help you by not needing to lower the sound.
I trust his reviews. They're always dead on and unbiased. From what I've seen, this is a game that could use a few quality of life patches and updates then pick it up on sale for under $30.
@@mgxzazfbyjuchrisclarkvpz236 No, some aren't worth the bandwidth to download them and yes, I'm cheap in a time when they're charging $80+ for games that are often unfinished or lack any depth or imagination.
@@mgxzazfbyjuchrisclarkvpz236right..I'll just hold off and get it when it goes on sale for like 10 or 20 %.. I'd get it full priced but I don't feel like it is a gotta get asap .. but looks fun and interesting so def gonna get it one day
If you really want to play something and have the funds I say go for it but for everyone else who isn’t sure I guarantee the game you want will go on sale within a year and sometimes it might even be “free” with a subscription if you’re patient but there’s nothing like playing a game on launch so I guess what I’m tryna say is idk
Absolutely a buy for me; thanks for a thorough review. Not bothered so much by enemy variety or sound issues (if I can control it); the story, environments and combat look like my cup of tea. I would agree that grinding for materials to upgrade is a downside - I'll conserve them. Was also on the fence, but now I'm in.
One of my biggest annoyances was not being able to just run past enemies when you just wanted to get somewhere. You have to stay and fight until they are all gone
I wasn't sure until this review. I like the morality choices part and the visuals, I suck at hard combat so if the combat isn't too bad I'll be ok. Looks fun.
We love such games, give us more like this. Really enjoying in beautiful story, straight romance and decisions, excellent RPG, I don't sleep whole week because of Banishers playing. No problems this is what we want, just give us more such like beauty.
Ah cool. Thanks for review! Glad I waited for it. I was in the mood for something light and fluffy and, now I know, this isn't exactly what I am looking for. But maybe another time. THANKS COWBOY!
The choice and consequences in this game are excellent. You will definitely be fighting yourself over what to do. Game runs great for me on high settings at 1440p using a RTX 3060.... averaging about 65-70FPS. I would absolutely recommend this game!
Hey dude i am following your Bloodborne walkthrough and this review popped. I love the style you present your thoughts. Excellent review in my opinion. I am currently considering buying the game. I love story driven games(like bloodborne :D). Anyways thanks.
Awesome review! def plan on playing this at some point this year lol also do you plan on playing/covering the full release of Last Epoch next week at all? I’m so hyped for that one since this will be my first experience with the game
Seems like if they added a “disassemble” option to gear so you could get a portion or all of the resources you’ve invested in them back, it would make the gearing/build stuff less tedious to grind for.
Honestly i think a flat "upgrade" for each slot would worked better where you can freely change the gear around I may all have the same upgrade that that slot has reached
Does anybody know how to use the gun on a PC? I have the keybindings set up to fire and aim, but pressing those buttons does nothing. How do you use this stupid gun?
Story and characters are important. A unique AA game is always good. Also a good review, I feel I can trust you on gameplay being fun or not. I can't trust most reviewers judgement on that.
This looks excellent, as we expect from games 2024. maybe it's the most beautiful among all in February and March, respect that style we want and straight romance
I picked this game up because the trailer for it sucked me right in. I started it last night and it's so cool so far. My Wife also thinks it looks freaking awesome. So far the only complaint I have is I wish the combat animations had more variety instead of just doing the same movement over and over again. Also coming right off of Lies of P the combat doesn't feel as good. Like the melee doesn't feel like it connects as realistically as something like God of War or Lies of P or Elden Ring. It's still a fantastic game and I can't wait to play more.
Don't Nod has always put story ahead of actual gameplay, so I'm not surprised to hear the combat is dull and repetitive. I may play this once it goes on sale, but I could always replay something like Ghost of Tsushima in the meantime.
@@FightinCowboy Under the section labeled "Lack of Enemy Variety," you said you wind up fighting the same four specters, which is not a lot, and how fighting the same enemies over and over again gets monotonous. You then talk your way through the same method of fighting the same enemies over and over again, and how it takes away from the activities in the world, so you decided to focus on the haunting cases instead.
Seems a great improvement from Vampyr which is great. I loved Vampyr and now Banisher has a better and richer combat system, plus the moral dilemma of the story is good too. Thanks for the detailed review!
Hey man, whatever happened to ACG? I dont see his reviews anymore, hes still got the podcasts, but I just cant get into any podcasts. I've tried lol Either way, great review and thank you for all the information. Ive watched multiple already, and i gotta say, yours is best. Thank you I say that, then to to his page and see it, it didn't notify me.
Actually I was hoping for something closer to A Plague Tale in scope and tone, a map marker riddles open world is a bit of a turn-off these days. The hauntings and story focus still sound good though and I have a heart for AA games like this. Will get it in a drought, thanks for the review!
I'll wait for a sale on this one. Looks decent but who really has the time anymore for games like this? Being open world can be a big selling point if it has density and purpose. Looking at this I'm thinking...."Why did this need to be open world?" Seems like maybe going the "open zone" route like in Dragon Age Inquisition might've made more sense. This does look interesting though.
Please do more reviews. Your type of reviews are very good

Most games are worth it "under $30". That doesn't say much unless you're just being cheap.

I meant the enemy variety makes it dull, the combat itself is actually quite decent considering it's not something I'd ever expect from Don't Nod.

I usually enjoy Cowboy's reviews but i aint gonna sugarcoat it this review very much felt like a on fhe fly rushed out one.
Ironic considering I felt I rushed it initially and so I re-recorded my review to get this one
@@FightinCowboy well shit that is ironic 😂, 🤷🏾 even the mighty cowboy is still human no biggies.
Cowboy are you going to review FF7 rebirth? At least I know you will give an unbiased view.
Yes
That’s great I’ll look forward to it, any idea when we can expect it to drop?
I don't know why, but I read the title as Ghost of New Elden Ring. I need sleep.
Dope Nod is a crazy dev studio name lol
It’s don’t nod …
I want to support just because it’s not $70. From the look it looks like they could have charged more.

Good video Cowboy as always bit I’m going to go to pass on this one e unless it goes to game pass
This feels a bit like a slightly tweaked Witcher clone. Thats not a bad thing.
Thanks Cowboy.
i get 'Detroit Become Human: Action Edition' vibes from this game

Have to add to a list. Got ff7r2 and dragons dogma 2 coming up.
Yeah if ya like games similar to cowboy you definitely won’t get any bullshit from his reviews and I like people like that
Hi cowboy - Please don’t misunderstand me. Is this a sponsored copy review?
No, anything sponsored is very clearly labeled as such. Sponsored reviews also aren't a thing on this channel.
The battle is average, but the story is amazing!😂
Maybe on a 80% discount I'll get it ☺️
I must be in the minority because I really enjoyed Remember Me.
Well, there is two of us. Lol.
At first I was hooked but I'm bored with it. It's very repetitive and alot of reading and dialog and running back and forth for collectibles
I will pass on this one, DD2 on the way
This seems heavily influenced by god of war, def gonna buy
Can't decide whether to buy, it looks like god of war combat and i never enjoyed that
AA games never seem to have enough enemy variety. Actually, some AAA games have this problem too! Very disappointing when a game lacks this.
This is a ps plus game if I’ve ever seen one
14.33 dodge that arsehole 😂.. been waiting for someone to say how this game runs etc.. as wasn't sure if to buy it or not .
