Thus far my favorite 'tours' are with Logee's. Byron is great on camera, great with the interview, and so casually knowledgeable about the plants he cares for that it's easy to understand and absorb what he's speaking.
True, he's so knowledgeable & a good communicator. I 1st saw him on a Martha Stewart show. He made fairly regular appearances - and looks about the same today as he did back then, which must've been over 10 years ago. What a great place. So glad she did a tour there. I keep wanting to go.
Many folks I've interviewed have such calm, soothing voices. The King of Smooth Voices, Chad Husby, will be making an appearance again on the channel soon.
The flower he gave her has such a lovely fragrance and is called Manoranjidham in Tamil. We have a belief that if u think of any fruit and then smell the flower you can feel that particular fragrance.
I drove from Portland Oregon to Philly, Penn to pick up my daughter, she won't fly, in !980's. We headed to Vermont to pick up a school friend going to college, and made a stop at Logees…..it was so special. Brought lots of begonia's home.
I really love this tour. Most of the plants they have are from South East Asia. I definitely recognize most of the plants. They are abundant and naturally growing here in the Philippines. 😍😍

Possibly my favorite of logee's greenhouse tours! I feel like Byron was really enthousiast and opened up to you like never before. Extremely touching to see him like that! A very peaceful and very very interesting and informational tour! Those backstories make the plants even more interesting, if that's even possible hahahaha
I think we really warmed him up after a couple days of filming....By the end he was very tired, so we're so grateful he took the time. Glad you feel as if he responded well.

Many plants that he mentioned are popular here in Indonesia! And the best part is he look so interested to that plants, while we people here begin to forget that kind of plants. Appreciate him so much! Good job sir!
I remember the first time I went to Logee's, walking down those stairs in to the greenhouse is like walking into a fairytale and candy store all rolled in one. I need more plants.
Byron I could listen to him all day long talk about plants and give their long Latin name! Anyone who's been lucky enough to work and those greenhouses beside him are some of the luckiest plant people in the world. Plants have always fascinated me all my life... And now that I'm 71 I'm trying to share things that I've learned through the years with other people in the plant community. I'm warning about plants that I never knew existed and my problem is I love to propagate plants and then what do I do with all these plants I've brought into the world I don't have enough space for all of them. So last fall I put all my cuttings into two hanging baskets of my pothos syngonium and philodendron. They have made beautiful hanging baskets there their own little jungle. It's a great idea people and I like growing plants that trail as the understory. For a couple years on my gardenia trees I have five but I'm not sure if some of them made it through the winter they may have dried out too much... I had strawberry begonias growing. But I think I forgot to water and I did them in and maybe the two gardenias I had them growing in. I do videos and post them trying to share my knowledge. You do a great job Summer.... keep up the great work you are another person that's so full of knowledge I love listening to you rattle off the Latin names. I have a hard time just remembering the regular common name
His energy is healing and loving. So much so I can feel it through the TV screen. Not many people around these days that still emit this kind of energy. I always say, some of the best people are plant people. True salt of the earth in human form.
This is fascinating, i like this guy and his perspective on plants and the history of his family's company. This is the first time ive heard someone talk about the 70's houseplant boom by experience. The recent years must've been pretty surreal for places like Logee's. Thanks for the tour, all three of you, stay safe.
I love the Logee videos. Byron is an excellent speaker and I could listen to him all day long :)/ As a beekeeper I love the plants with unique flowers that have triggers or hinges that must be activated by the bee. Honey bees aren't as strong as bumblebees so they wouldn't have the weight to open the trigger of some flowers. Often though once a flower has been opened a few times its trigger opens easier. We have some flowers that when a bee pushes the trigger the flower slaps the bee either on the back or head with a pollen stamp. I'll see the returning bees with a perfect rectangular stamp on her back and know that particular flower is in bloom.
I wish we could have done a beekeeping video. It wasn't the right weather for it though. Too cold when we were filming. He was very excited for that though!
Great video. He has such a passion and he’s so calming to listen to. I just realized he’s missing a pointer finger. My dad was missing his pointer finger too. Crazy.
This is my favorite plant tour so far.. Byron's voice is so soothing.. You can easily feel his passion and love for his plants with the way he talk and how his face lights up each time he stops and talks casually about every plants.. Its very inspiring
Every time I have a hard day i come back to this video, Byron and Summer's voices are so calming, i could listen to them for hours chatting about these wonderful plants

I've been to Logee's once so far and plan to go back when things open up. It's a wonderland. When I was there they had an orchid cactus (epiphyllum) with a gigantic, bright red blossom. I'd never seen one before and it was stunning. I also loved the bougainvilleas and bought one. It's been touch and go for me. It's never been consistently happy, but I'm experimenting to improve things. It has had moments of glorious blossoming, but mostly not at all. I think it's a food thing, which I'm getting better at doing. Never had a pest problem with it, or the baby I made.

I absolutely loved this whole tour. Imagine working in your own little botanical gardens. I have a wish list from Logees. Such a magical place. Thank you Summer.

I've so enjoyed this particular one so much. My favourites: the yellow ones and the last ones, the purple that has such interesting structure. The chemistry also was so enjoyable to watch.
Wow I know that green flower tree . My grandpa planted it in our garden Vietnam. The scent is amazing. I think we call it the princess flower tree . It has huge trunk which grows direct. It is our tallest tree. This brings back wonderful childhood memories ❤️
I don't have a favourite plant, they are all absolutely fantastic. I always live your interactions of asking questions and the enthusiasm of Mr Byron. It's so lovely to see that. While you were talking about the smells of the plant I smelled my own jasmine. I just love your field trips
This was so wonderful to see. You're the perfect interviewer for these greenhouse & grower visits as you're genuinely enthusiastic, have a pleasant personality, ask smart questions & make good comments. You really know a lot about plants yourself. I'm wondering if you just learned due to curiosity & an interest in house plants, or if you may have taken courses or even pursued a degree in horticulture, & if so, where? I live just over the line from Logee's, in MA, & have wanted to go peruse those greenhouses for years, but have not made the trek yet. Maybe this year. I guess now that's the only greenhouse open to the public. Still could spend over an hour there. I really enjoyed this, especially after wanting to see it for myself for so many years. I have long been getting newsletters from Logee's, & often go to their site to see what they have available for sale. Their prices are a bit high, but plant prices have gone up everywhere these days, even for common house & garden plants. Their stock is exceptional, & I have enjoyed the videos at their website. Think I'll check & see if they have any new ones.

I loved this video. Thus far, my plant collecting (& Plant Tube viewing) has mostly revolved around foliage plants, so this was a nice change of pace and invitation to give flowering plants a closer look. My faves were Jasminum sambac, bougainvillea (a fave from my childhood), and the Petraeovitex bambusetorum (that growth habit is a dream). It was also wonderful to get a sense of Logee's mother, stock, and standard plants as well as see how long-lived some of our houseplants can be and the stories and memories that they can carry with them.
Woah. New plant mom here and am kinda floored to see Logees all over UA-cam. I was there a few weeks ago but didn’t know they’re kind of a big deal. I can definitely see why though. So awesome to see the behind the scenes.
Thanks for this great plant tour it’s massive and lots of rare plants similar here in the province of Philippines , I love the jasmine we call “sampaguita” our national flower which has a very sweet fragrance and also this flower I’m proud to say that it helps a lot of poor families to earn from it by selling it on the street by tying the flowers one by one selling it on bundles which we usually put on our grottos and saints.
