I really do like Optimus and Rodimus Prime, their my fav leaders, and i'm hoping to get core class Soundwave and Bumblebee

Best figures of WFC: Siege Omega Supreme, Siege Jetfire, Earthrise Optimus Prime, Earthrise Skylynx, Earthrise Runamauk and Runabout, Kingdom Cyclonus, Kingdom Rodimus Prime and Kingdom Galvatron.

I can’t believe it’s over. It was one of the best toy lines I have ever seen in my opinion.
Not a great hot rod, but engineering wise I think the leg kibble, though not good looking, is actually clever engineering. Definitely different for most carformers.
The fact that this was originally scheduled for legacy scares me in terms of what to expect from the line. Even stylistically I don’t love how hotrod looks here
It wasn’t originally scheduled for legacy, it’s getting a repack (just like blaster) in legacy
The funny thing is that it looks like it's from the G1 Marvel comics
Can definitely tell he was meant for Legacy.
He looks like he's following the stylised, blocky Legacy design rather than the super accurate Kingdom/SS path.
Yeah, it somehow reminds me more of Cyberverse Hot Rod than the original

Seems the core class autobots so far are a bit underwhelm compared to the decepticons. Still for a $10 its alright.
i'm probably still gonna pick him up cause I love this scale, but damn this kinda makes me feel uneasy about the rest of legacy.
I really don't think he needed a faux chest for the size, especially if they're just gonna put the actual front on the back of the legs of all places. Sword's fine, but i feel like its slightly bogged down by the need to have compatibility with the larger figures.
proportions and lack of leg paint seems to be a weird trend with cheaper hot rod figures. I wish if anything, they found some way to either use the actual hood of the car for the robot mode or at _least_ compress it into the legs proper

Pretty good looking for a tiny Hot Rod! Looks like the engineering for this core class line continues to impress! Can’t wait to get em’.
My main problem with Core Class Hot Rod is they overdid it with transformation that it effects the robot mode. If they made it simple, it could've look way more better.
Agreed. But for a bot that small, I think that they did a pretty good job. Not to BEST core class figure that we’ve got, but he’s not terrible by any means.

This figure gives me a nostalgic feelings. Seriously, this Hot Rod was supposed to be released sometime in 2010, but it's released now... and that's what I love about it.

This looks like a prototype for a deluxe size figure for the Cyberverse line/rookie fans, I can easily see this being upscaled at some point with a few changes made to the design

I got the figure, but when I transformed him, I ran into the same problem with the tabbing in the car mode. I'm happy/disappointed that it wasn't just my copy
I kinda wish the guys that made the third party lockdown (Peru-kill) would remold lockdown slightly to make a movie version of the G1 Hot Rod
This may be a silly question, but is there a site you can go to that tells you all the figures released for a particular line of Transformers and what the new line will be?
been waiting for this one to come out. I'm a massive Hotrod/rodimus collector. there have been alot of terrible hotrods through the years, especially in the bumblebee/cyberverse lines but i picked them up for my collection and displays. I'll definitely be picking up a few of these for my MISB/MOSC displays and collections. We wont be getting anything better that ss86 Hotrod or Kingdom Rodimus Prime anytime soon, MP releases included.

The stubby forearms are actually the best part, they allow his arm enough rotation to pose him with his sword resting on his shoulder which looks sick.

Does anyone else think of Lightning McQueen when they look at this Hot Rod toy in its vehicle mode?
Maybe not the most well-engineered figure out there but honestly the transformation looks like fun. And ultimately that's the main thing I care about with Transformers in the long run.
It's giving more Rodimus than Hot Rod only because of the way he scales with Optimus. This is why I miss the legion class cuz they used to scale perfectly with the original commander class

This looks like it was made by a different company altogether in comparison to the other core class figures in the WFC line (which in my opinion were are good as, if not better than some of the larger figures) It still looks kinda cool in the packaging though

Holy Primus, the War For Cybertron trilogy is finally over. It's like yesterday when they toyline started and two years later the line is officially done. Its been a good run WFC Trilogy, now here comes Legacy!

If and when I get this guy I’m definitely doing an overhaul on the paint job.
without the giant yellow spoiler , the vehicle-mode looks a little like Technobot LIGHTSPEED.
Man now i want a new set of Technobots lol
I think the spoiler could be used as a weapon or atelast to combine weapons

Appreciate the honest review. It's not a great figure but the car mode isn't bad. Easy pass for me since he just doesn't seem to fit into the rest of the core class.

But I agree, he definitely is not on par with the others. I'll get him because he is the only core class sized hotrod that is g1ish.
Yeah I gotta agree this feels like a rush job to give more figures to a line that frankly I would have preferred focused more on the beast wars figures. And since it's likely to show up again for legacy, a line which is already letting fans down on some designs. It's not looking good for that line.
When I first saw the thumbnail I thought that the sword was just a part of his arm. Like how Shockwave's left arm ends in a cannon.
Sadly an end to a good wave of figures (in my opinion) while I have not collected every figure of the WFC line, the ones I have a really good, can't wait till Legacy comes out. And can't wait till you review them

I may be mistaken but wasn't Hot Rod originally like Ultra Magnus where you combine him to Rodiimus Prime from his vehicle parts

Man, getting this guy in hand, you can really feel how much the lack of those front pegs hurts the figure. It's so difficult to get his hood to actually sit somewhat flat, you just gotta squeeze and fidget until you hopefully can get it to work. Also very concerning (and confusing) how the backpiece that holds the spoiler is cast out of soft plastic... Given the horror stories I've heard from people about the blast effects, it's very concerning to have a piece made out of the same kind of plastic as an integral part of the figure.
I wish they just used the budget on body paint instead of the 3 accessories

plastic has gotten more expensive core class figures should all be around the same price and scale
this is why you get hollowness its alot less of an issue now then it was before when size class used to be about height alone
Yes that's hot right figure does suck. I just seen him on the shelf I picked him up. It would have been nice if they were easier with transform as well. They do stand up nice and that's bout it.

Kinda a neat, kinda fiddly transformation
The robot mode kinda looks like how a Transformers Prime era version of Hot Rod would look...but seeing that spoiler in vehicle mode, that spoiler looks like it jumped out from Transformers Animated! 😆😆😆 Though I see they're still insisting on that way too dark gray paint for the face, just as they did with SS86-4 Hot Rod, which is annoying. Ditto for the use of a fake chest like SS86-4 & PotP.
The way the hood & canopy are engineered ain't great, but, it is pretty unique for a carformer.
