A "Transformer that can't" has always been a concept ive wanted for a long time. No kibble, no compromise, just screen-accuracy that made it possible. And then RED existed 😭

I disagree. People are immediately turned off by a Transformers character not being able to transform but buy a ThreeZero MDLX figure or a Yolopark model kit and I'm sure they'll change your mind.
The problem with modern Transformers thag dont Transform is that Transforming technology has gotten so good that its kinda not needed, you can get accurate figures that also transform
@@fanboyofabandonedthings481Unfortunately though a lot of unofficial figures are also starting to have some major design and material flaws. Also a lot of super specific tiny flaps that are only there to barely make a visual difference for the sake of "perfection."
@@OtakuUnitedStudio yeah I’m not denying that, im just saying that in numerous cases, both official and otherwise, have massively improved, and are more desirable than overpriced statues with no poseability!
And then there's Super 7 who just needed to make a few tweaks with the accessories and they could have had Masterpiece Actionmasters, but apparently that would make too much sense and money.
Another reason that the R.E.D line flopped is because a lot of them were uh, not good. They had odd color choices, bad plastic, malformed accessories, loose joints, and posed a lot worse than a good chunk of modern mainline figures. Yes, most of them had the accuracy part, but they felt like leftover plastic and the fact that there were more posable, better quality, transformable, and sometimes more accurate figures out there, whether official or third party, definitely made them flop.
It never fails to amaze why they decided to design such visually heavy transformers for 5 movies straight when the goal of the brand is to sell toys. Toy designers that had to fit those designs into functional toys must have hated that.
I wish they did a Beast Wars version of Action Masters... I mean, Optimus Prime getting in a truck to drive it is one thing, but image Optimus Primal inserting himself into _another gorilla_ as a play feature! It'd be just like my first trip to the zoo.
@Democracylover710 I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. But on the off chance that you aren't. I think this man saw a gorilla creating another gorilla in real time
A notable example of a Transformer with no alt mode is Revoltech. Their Prime doesnt transform, but boy does he compensate with sheer articulation. Before newer figures, even third party struggled to macth the sheer poseability he has.
fun fact about Action Masters, the energy source that explains the lack of transformation “Nucleon” is referenced in Fall of Cybertron in the game’s sniper rifle being named the “Nucleon Charge Rifle”
10:53 lol I remember my parents buying the RPM optimus truck to use as a cake topper for my birthday back in 2009. I guess that's one good use for it 😂
FYI, there are both official and non-official TF toys that can be both accurate-looking as a robot figure and clean as a vehicle nowadays... Some examples in mind would be Masterpiece Movie Series Starscream and Unique Toys Challenger.
Unique toys has sone insane engineering feats Nero gave a transformation sequence to galvatron and the movie just had him explode Also cell people find it challenging but the fact they got cell into a ball with the only compensation being sone knee kibble is insane (and even then the small panels are actually quite nice) the arms are an issue though
It's funny that Action Masters were more like Microchange, where a lot of the stranger TFs came from.. meanwhile here some of us are saying 'hey Diaclone had a better and more versatile premise..'
There was a small line of PVC figures (Prime, Bee, Megatron, Soundwave & Shockwave) at Walmart sold loose with just a tag attached to them. You also see some of this style of figures at the numerous dollar stores during Xmas. These figures are great to randomly place around your space. Also, usually cheap so safe to put on a work desk and not fret over in an office setting!
Most collecters consider transformers that don't transform sacralige, but a lot of those same collecters will get one that does, never transform it once, leave in a cool pose on their shelf for the rest of it's life, never messing with it, and complain when it's inaccurate or missing articulation. Al G Rhythm absolutely blessed this video, damn! Congrats on 10K man, you deserve it! I love the MegaSCF Line, I did a video on an Optimus Prime I got a while back and the packaging has the funniest Engrish on it I've ever seen from a Takara Transformer product. "THE TRUTH WHO THE EYES MET BEFORE" and "FULL PAINTED" come to mind. lol Great vid as always man!
I'll be honest, I can see something like the Action Masters Nucleon being interesting for a cartoon.. or a game. Something like "A combiner, and there are no humans around, let's switch to Nucleon power and go all out!"
To be fair, there are loads of transformers that don't transform that are great! (e.g. R.E.D.,YOLOPARK,REVOLTECH), and plenty Transformers that DO transform that Suck.
I think the not transforming transformers figures is the best way to give us Transformers characters that have a very complex designs Like Multi Unicron Six Shot Revenge of the Fallen demolisher And other characters that have very complex designs that seems very very difficult to make it transform
I became a fan of tf because i love cars and i love robots so to see a robot that can turn into a car was the best thing that ever happened and seeing these ones that cant transform gives me mix feelings
My favorite transformer toys I had as a kid were both ratchet and bumblebee toys from the rotf (I think, bee might’ve been dark side of the moon), but they were the most accurate toys I’ve seen for the form factor. The transformations felt like an actual puzzle it was so detailed. I remember looking up tutorials for ratchet he was so hard lol, love the video!
Honestly i think with how wild Legacy is, basically bringing in Rock Lords, I could imagine something like super posable non-transforming figures with partners as a thing again
i actually had barricade that doesnt transform his robot form was actually under the police car model so i just played with the police car as like an actual police car you wouldnt want to know what the robot mode looked like under there
Man I distinctly remember these things. I even remember bringing that exact bumblebee to show and tell in primary 1 about a decade ago. Man, time flies.
The only really good thing about RED was that the accessories were good, and often used 5mm pegs so they could work with normal figures. In which case they were basically a $12 upgrade kit. Kingdom Cheetor didn't come with his "gut gun" but RED Cheetor did. And it was basically the same sculpt as Kingdom Tigatron's.
Found you thru the explore page, so UA-cam has been pushing your content. Good choice, algorithm good 👍🏻 just wanted to lyk that you are doing awesome. Thanks for the good content 🤙🏻 take it easy bro
If you wish for transformers that do not transform, many modelling vendors have it. I have an Optimus Prime model from ThreeZero, which is based off of the Prime from the Bumblebee film. Very accurate, wonderful modelling and articulation - but no transformation. There are (legally questionable) third party vendors who, despite the illegal hogwash, manage with some form of magic to create transformable figures that are also quite accurate.
I think even worse than Transformers that don't transform are Transformers that transform badly. I seem to recall seeing a series (and specifically a Bumblebee) where they would change from car to robot with the push of a button but they would just... pop out of the top of the car and stand there... with their feet in a car? It was just bizarre and not worth the removal of the actual process of converting them back and forth
I love seeing all the people saying how a transformer that can’t transform is like heresy as I look to my shelf of threezero figures, and just take in how screen accurate they are. I’m aware third party exists, I live and breathe third party just as much as threezero but I find the non transforming stuff way more consistent in quality
Transformers fans would genuinly rather have overdesigned messes that sacrifice the robot mode for the alt mode, with new versions being made literally every single year (How many new optimus prime molds are there?) than have a single series of well designed articulated figures they can actually pose
They will tell you that it is wrong since it is in the name and blah blah blah. The truth is that it is better to have options, for example Michael Bay's Crosshairs does not have any good figures but one that does not transform would be beautiful.
@@Yanfei-gg4mm like in gundam, HG kits (the ones that are made the most) tend to be partsformers, since its simpler and gives a better end product. But larger and more expensive ones have proper transformations. Or figures sometimes don't do transformations.. Of course gundam is different cuz the transformations there aren't as vastly different as transformers, not trying to hide what it is but change shape for whatever purpose
i have a bumblebee toy based on ONE SCENE from dotm where bumblebee partially transforms. technically it doesn’t transform but you pull back on the rear bumper and a bunch of spring loaded guns pop out.
i really want a super detailed highly complex Bay style transformer that can *actually* transform. imagine having 700 moving parts. tickles my brain to think about
My first Transformers figure actually came from the Tiny Titans line of non-transforming figures. It was part of the RID 2015 line, but featured figures from other continuities as well, so I was so confused when I got Shockwave because he wasn't in the show.
One transformers toy I want to add to the list was Kreo’s buildable figures line. It came with the necessary pieces to either build a vehicle or build the robot but they could not transform. I had to explain countless times to friends and family that they did not transform. They were always like “doesn’t that defeat the point?” For me, Kreo worked because it wasn’t about the transformation it was about building the figure. And I still got a vehicle and robot out of it so I thought it was a good trade off. At the time it made sense too since it was impossible to build a transforming toy out of buildable bricks. Then of course people figured out how to make them out of LEGO and now we have official buildable figures of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee (as of right now) who can transform. Making the Kreo figures pretty obsolete. I will say though they did have a good variety of characters. I owned Ratchet, Ironhide, and Devastator to name a few. I also saw Knockout and Vortex on shelves.
7:19 to this day i didn’t even know where or even that i had this cheetor but now i remember having this thing. i honestly didn’t even know what this toy was called or that it was transformers

You know whats funny is I totally forgot to mentioned Al G this video - maybe that's why he blessed me 🤔 thanks man I appreciate your support always 🙏
I'll be honest, I can see something like the Action Masters Nucleon being interesting for a cartoon.. or a game.
Something like "A combiner, and there are no humans around, let's switch to Nucleon power and go all out!"
Oh but no we can't release G1 nightbird without transforming.
dude unlocked a memory for me with the robot replicas. forgot i had that feisty green autobot as a kid
Jake, do car transform vroom go car go?
Now that's a thinker
Man i had the bumblebee from the miniature of the video, you just unlocked my memories
To be fair, there are loads of transformers that don't transform that are great! (e.g. R.E.D.,YOLOPARK,REVOLTECH), and plenty Transformers that DO transform that Suck.
Bro you were hyped about getting to 10k then exactly a month later you're at 17.2k.... congrats dude
I have a robot replicas of ROTF Jetfire signed by his VA
I think the not transforming transformers figures is the best way to give us Transformers characters that have a very complex designs
Like Multi Unicron
Six Shot
Revenge of the Fallen demolisher
And other characters that have very complex designs that seems very very difficult to make it transform
wow I totally forgot about marvel super hero squad 😭
I became a fan of tf because i love cars and i love robots so to see a robot that can turn into a car was the best thing that ever happened and seeing these ones that cant transform gives me mix feelings
12:05 bro got PTSD
Wow i did not expect to see my video in this video, awesome video dude, keep it up 👍
Thank you!! I added you on instagram, I'd love to do a collab in the future!
I had so many of the RPM cars as a kid. And I mean a LOT
Lucky you, I only owned three as a kid, Optimus Megatron and Skids. But I did own the Devastator Showdown set.
Micro machines left the chat
Honestly i think with how wild Legacy is, basically bringing in Rock Lords, I could imagine something like super posable non-transforming figures with partners as a thing again
1:09 Gatorade?
i actually had barricade that doesnt transform
his robot form was actually under the police car model so i just played with the police car as like an actual police car
you wouldnt want to know what the robot mode looked like under there
Man I distinctly remember these things. I even remember bringing that exact bumblebee to show and tell in primary 1 about a decade ago. Man, time flies.
bring back jazz😭😭
10:58 I didn’t actually hate these ones they’re actually pretty chill. I had a little tank one as a kid. Very fun
YT GIFTED A MEMBERSHIP TO ME
You actually got it during a livestream last week! Enjoy the early video!
@@dumbjakeworld then im gonna join more
Yolopark makes some absolutely crazy stuff
Red also had the terrible materials they used bogging it down. The way they bent was NOT it
The only really good thing about RED was that the accessories were good, and often used 5mm pegs so they could work with normal figures.
Thanks for the good content 🤙🏻 take it easy bro
more like just a car toy...
YOU DARE INSULT THAT MASTERPIECE OF A BUMBLEBEE FIGURE,IT CREATED MY LOVE FOR TRANSFORMERS
I think even worse than Transformers that don't transform are Transformers that transform badly. I seem to recall seeing a series (and specifically a Bumblebee) where they would change from car to robot with the push of a button but they would just... pop out of the top of the car and stand there... with their feet in a car? It was just bizarre and not worth the removal of the actual process of converting them back and forth
transformersn't
The best thing to come from Action Masters was the awesome design they gave Optimus Prime in the commercials.
I love seeing all the people saying how a transformer that can’t transform is like heresy as I look to my shelf of threezero figures, and just take in how screen accurate they are. I’m aware third party exists, I live and breathe third party just as much as threezero but I find the non transforming stuff way more consistent in quality
It's annoying when something disconnects when posing my figures, I prefer something that doesn't transform.
Remember the 2007 Lunchables promo "pocket transformers" which were just stickers on plastic?
Oh my good actually yes I do thank you for reminding me of that
I can vouch for Robot Heroes.
Collected all the Robot Heroes back in the day and have nearly all film figures. They’re pretty affordable.
@@justpassingby298 Personally I prefer a good robot than a vehicle
i have a bumblebee toy based on ONE SCENE from dotm where bumblebee partially transforms. technically it doesn’t transform but you pull back on the rear bumper and a bunch of spring loaded guns pop out.
i really want a super detailed highly complex Bay style transformer that can *actually* transform.
imagine having 700 moving parts.
tickles my brain to think about
That'd be awesome but you'd need a whole damn manual book to change its form without breaking💀
@@WarFoxThunder exactly
12:15 Optimus zesty asf 😭😭
transformers figures that can't transform are the equivalent of a house with no inside.
fun fact: i have a die cast bumble bee car that is just a crappy picture of him/the thing in the thumbnail
My first Transformers figure actually came from the Tiny Titans line of non-transforming figures. It was part of the RID 2015 line, but featured figures from other continuities as well, so I was so confused when I got Shockwave because he wasn't in the show.
Today, we have blockies transformers that don’t transform.
I LOVED THE RPMS, but saddly, I had only 2- Optimus and Sideswipe. Also, I didnt know the entire time how they were called, so thx for that! XD
i have like 7 of the bumblebees in the thumbnail
7:19 to this day i didn’t even know where or even that i had this cheetor but now i remember having this thing. i honestly didn’t even know what this toy was called or that it was transformers
i hope he's telling the truth about getting that pizza at the end... he--he wouldn't lie, would he?
Out of the several happy meal transformers toys over the years, only the first based on animated had toys that could transform
11:45 TFone sentinel? What are you doing here?
