I’ve had this tuner for a few yrs now. The HP ratings are at the crank, not rear wheels, so deduct around 20% of the rating and it gets close to what the wheel HP is. I normally leave mine on the 40 hp tune for daily driving. Gets good mileage and virtually no smoke. You can stand on it and it just hauls ass without the big black cloud. It did start smoking pretty bad for awhile, turned out to be the CP3 was failing, started throwing 0087 and limping. New pump and it was like the 40HP became 90HP! These canned tunes are great for a budget and the scan tools are indispensable.
Great vid. I run the 90hp tow tune mostly and I’ve beat the hell out of it on that tune. Me personally I’ve limped on the 120 tune but it was before I had a lift pump so I believe it was a fuel limp. I enjoy the 120 tune so much more drivability wise.
@@Robert.Halvorson sorry man but no it won’t hold 600hp. You might get lucky a few times at wide open in 4th but torque converter will not last and it definitely will take out 5th. Stock 5 speed is good for 400hp of actual use. Sure you can have a 500hp motor but your not going to put that to the ground. Not for long at least!
You can definitely tell it’s there but it’s not gonna throw you back in the seat. I’m not sure to be exact but my truck gets about 10 or so with the fuel added option on, which waste a lot of fuel in my opinion. With that option off, it’s probably up closer to 15
@@jackpaetow2017 not sure, I’ve heard they will only hold 400 or up to 600. I’m gonna do an egr delete soon, after I fix my bed. I had a little accident happen on a dirt track last weekend lol
Nah no monitors or nothing, just my temp gauges and check engine light😂. I haven’t had any issues or anything at all on 120, I don’t mat it to the floor often though I heard being hard on it turned up won’t last very long

Great job...just got might today...ill install now....
Don't forget there's four fuses that you are supposed to unplug
what are they?
One the ppe instructions it says to pull some of the fuses before installing a tune. Did you do that?
Got the same tuner but I run mine on tune 2 gives it plenty of get up and go
‼️Did this dump a good amount of coal ??? ‼️
Sounds like you have a boost leak when you were going slow in that first clip
Is your truck deleted or have an egr blocker plate ? I have an lbz and is deleted and did not know if the tuner still worked or throw codes ect?
Cool!
Do you have a built trans or stock? I got an LB7 so same same but different lol but i got a stock trans still and was looking at that same tuner
it’s a stock trans
@@Robert.Halvorson is it going into limp mode at all? Have you had any problems?
@@yamahawsome9335 nope, I reset my auto trans and took it slow and no slips or anything. The trans should hold up to 600hp or so

Does it change the sound so u say? More high pitch noise
Yeah more of the turbo whistle kinda like a power stroke lol
Have you ever limped the trans on the 4-5 shift in the 120 tune?
What exhaust you got?
Does the stage 5 tune roll more coal ? Cause I want a clean tune
Quick question I know it’s old bud but have you deleted yours cause it sounds a lot deeper unless it’s the exhaust
I bought this tuner but haven’t ran it on 120 very much do u? If so do you have a monitor or gauge and have any trouble?
