I am going into my first year of robotics (Although I work with/ am on the robotics team) and hope to make one of these, your videos have given me great advice/ tips and encouradgemant, thank you
That's awesome! I am so glad to hear that! Best of luck!
My 6 year old watches your videos every day. Thanks for having clean language. He asks me to buy him sheet metal from Lowe's. You're an inspiration.
awww! Thank you so much for telling me that! It made my day! Please tell him I said hi! :)
I will!
:)
its interesting seeing your vids now to your latest battlebot video
I'm glad you like them!
can you tell me how to make it (schematics or something with some links to parts) I plan to minimize it to a flea weight with a custom pcb.
Hii bro pls tell me what type of tranmitter and reciever i use
We would like to make this battle bot but We dont now the dimentons of the material.
Can you tell us?
really good how much did it cost
Without the transmitter and receiver no more than $30. The transmitter and receiver cost $150 altogether. :)
how much can he push and what motors and servos are you using? im planning on making a robot but dont know what parts i should use
I'm just using 360 degrees servos I bought from robotshop.com. I would say the servos can push at least twice their weight if they aren't modified for speed.
How do connect the controller to the car
Can you make a video on it
how much did that transmitter cost and awesome video like always!
My transmitter and receiver ( the spetrum DXe) cost $100. And thanks! I'm so glad you like it! :)
Really great. :)
Thanks! :)
Do you connect the servos straight to the receiver, or do you use an Arduino motor driver?
Straight to the receiver. With a bot this size an Arduino really would do anything and it would add unnecessary weight.
Nice. Just three more of those and you got a Clusterbot :)
haha! Exactly!
Put bike grip around the tires
You should speed hack the drive servos. Much more speed.
You should also do some channel mixing, its much more natural to control I find.
haha! funny you should say that cuz I actually already have modified the servos for more speed! ( although they were not yet modified in this video). And i have thought about channel mixing but I actually really like how its set up now. Thanks so much for watching! :)
Or controller i use which type of controller i use
Can you make it bigger and more powerful so when you fling things it can hit the ceiling with a huge force it can put a hole in it?
hahaha! AH, you're wanting a flipper!
Mechanical Ninjineer yup 😂😂🤣🤣
thanks but I don't know which type of weapon my team should use any suggestions
That depends, what types of weapons are you going up against? saws are always great but its hard to make them so light.
can you make a tutorial for people who have no experience in building robots
+charbel3000 No promises, but I will see if I cant make a more in-depth video about it sometime. :) thanks for watching!
+Mechanical Ninjineer. ._. You Just lost a fan
This was the very first Fairyweight I saw. (Video.)
Will this bot be competing any time soon? It really is a lovely looking antweight (150g robots in America are called fairy weights btw)
haha! yes! that is true, but there are some competitions in the use that do call them ant weights... how be it not very many! haha! And Actually I fought it a little while back here's the vid! :) ua-cam.com/video/gHfHkp0aNzM/v-deo.html so glad that you like it! :)
Nice job dud
Thank you! I'm so glad that you like it! :)
What if another small bot gets into the space below the flipper when it is open?
- Also, how do your servos make the robot go more than 180 degrees? Is it a motor?
That's part of the reason I have that short wall underneath the flipper, to stop other bots. However if something does drive in I would just shake them off. But if we get stuck together then the ref will usually stop the match, pulls us apart and then resume the fight. For drive motors I am using standard 180 degree servos that I modified to run 360.
where did you bought battery pack, controller and transmitter?
I don't use a battery pack, I just use a 3 AAA battery holder. And I bought my transmitter and receiver from my local hobby shop.
please someone can say whats the name of the remote controll with he use?(sorry my hugly english i am brazilian)
It is a spectrum DXe. I am planning to make a video talking a little more about it this Friday! :)
Cool bot made one similar after watching this video
Can you make this same bot but make it as you go along in the vidio
Great video. Can i have the link to the controller and reciever please
I didn't buy it from here but this is the one I bought! www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1212405-REG/spektrum_spmr1000_dxe_transmitter_only.html/?c3api=3679%2Cbing%2C81570033482380%2C4585169646480329
Mechanical Ninjineer thanks.
Where did you get that aa pack?
I can't find it anywhere
You can find them almost anywhere online. www.ebay.com/itm/10PCS-Plastic-Battery-Storage-Box-Case-Holder-3-AAA-To-18650-Battery-Converter/272457416081?_trkparms=aid%3D555019%26algo%3DPL.BANDIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D41375%26meid%3D80d6b16e36354f3282bd6edb271569d5%26pid%3D100506%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26&_trksid=p2045573.c100506.m3226
with a better controller you can work out the mixer setting and get it to control correctly
Actually I can change how its set up now. I would just need a $15 cable to connect it to my pc. However for me I prefer how its set up now. :)
I am all about simplicity a 50 dollar controller seems pretty simple, but yeah a 15 dollar cable seems even better.
:D
What I must do with transmitter and battery pack?
I'm sorry, I don't think I quite understand the question. :(
how do you wire up the receiver to make the right servos or motors link up to the right controls?
I actually made a video about that! :) ua-cam.com/video/GvaSwPQpz0E/v-deo.html
Mechanical Ninjineer ok, thx
You're welcome! :)
how do you make the remote control?
please share me the link as i want to build this bot
I just use the "sky fly Fs I6" transmitter. It only cost about $50 AND that includes the receiver! I love mine! :D
beautiful bot! Excellent job! Does it have a name??
Thank you! No, I actually never got around to naming this one but iv named all the ones since! haha!
Oh, ok.
You should get a DX6i, then you can use the channel mixing...
It will be a lot of easier.
yes! I agree 100%! its just that the DX6i is more expensive. (I got the cheapest hobby grade one I could find! haha!) but that is definitely on my wish list! Thanks for watching! :)
Good work!
hey, thanks!
Can you make video how did yo connect a controller to a bot?
If you do that video pls give me link.
haha! I made a video about that awhile back. here it is :) ua-cam.com/video/GvaSwPQpz0E/v-deo.html
you should paint the flipper as a mouth that should look fking awesome!!!!!!!!
haha! that would be pretty awesome!
What Batman flipping servo do you use here? Thanks. I may make a 150 gram bot also.
awesome! I actually just used a standard medal geared mini servo! They seem to work quite well!
Nice thanks!
best video
Thank you!
Are the drive servos "speed hacked"?
I did speed hack them before the fight but I don't think they were hacked in this video.
What equipment you use sir???
I mainly use a hacksaw, coping saw and a bench grinder for my 150 gram bots. :)
My kids love battlebots, so I vowed to build some with and for them. And I'm watching your vids and reading ALL you comments. Great work, btw. OK, questions:
1) I have a hacksaw. Is a coping saw just a finer, more precise version of a hack saw? When do you using one vs the other?
2) What the hell is a bench grinder?!? I googled it, see it, but what do you use it for when building?
Thanks in advance, man!
What do you cut Lexan with?
I cut it into pieces with a table saw (very, very carefully) and then cut out the smaller pieces with a hack or coping saw. :)
+Mechanical Ninjineer k thx
how to connect the remote
controller to the battlebot?
You use a receiver which comes with a good remote controller. The receiver goes inside of the robot and everything plugs into it.
"And last: Batman!" HAHAHAHA
hahaha!
does any servo work for a any controller
yes. any servo should be able to work for any receiver with very few exceptions. :) Thanks for watching!
+Mechanical Ninjineer with reciver did u get. u didn't say
I used a spectrum DXe
I'm a huge fan of what you make
Thanks! I'm really glad to hear that! :)
Mechanical Ninjineer hey how much would it cost to build one
I would say no more than $50 if you already have the transmitter and receiver. About $150 if you don't. :)
ok well me and three of my friends are gonna fight two robots and it's teams off two one person does the drive and the other does the weapon
haha! that is so awesome! :)
Did you purposely program these controls? They don't seem very efficient.
haha! no I didn't. Iv been getting a lot of comments of people wanting me to change them tho! haha! :)
Do mixing
neet batle bot
Thanks!
Batman:I'm batma!?!!? FLOPPED OVER BY a random battlebot
Ikr?!?! That surprised me too!!!
what reciver did u get
I used a spectrum DXe.
+Mechanical Ninjineer I don't know yet problly yours
+Mechanical Ninjineer what really is a reciver
Well a transmitter is a remote you hold. so if you want your robot to go forward you just push the control stick forward. And so the receiver sits inside your robot and tells the motors what you are doing to the remote and therefore how you want the robot to move. :) I hope that was helpful!
+Mechanical Ninjineer thx
how much I would buy it
17 seconds in the video you can see hi face!😱
haha! yes... yes you can! haha!
Como man
I mean cool man .the keyboard was in Spanish mode
haha! Thanks!
The code please for the car....IS to ardinooo
sorry what? You mean you want me to build a version powered by an ardino board?
Actually i am trying to run my 4 wheel car wirelessly using RC and Android...but i am failing......
the car doesn't run smoothly...i want to drive likw a tank with full access to left wheels and right wheels sepeartely..........
Hmm... I'm not sure, but it sounds like there might be a problem with your receiver. But like I said I'm not sure, sadly I don't have enough information to really be able to tell what's up. :/
Ahahhaha last one: batman
hahaha!
BATMAN!!!
Lol
haha! I love Batman! he's awesome!!!
Well im building a mini battlebot and im basing mine off of yours so thx so much and if u could do a more I depth vid of that would be great ;P
Awesome!!! I'm soo glad to hear it! and I will see what I can do! :)
you welcome
I live in coloado
I would love to build one for you but sadly I'm going to have to say no for now. I'm just too afraid about the complications of build one and shipping it long distance. But I am sooo glad that you enjoy the videos! :)
do you can't get it over here
No I can't. Im sorry about that.
NOOOOOO!!!! BAATMAAAAANNN...
hahaha!
please I want one I would pay
I am so glad that you like it that much but it would be difficult to ship one. Do you by any chance live in California?
