      Without the transmitter and receiver no more than $30. The transmitter and receiver cost $150 altogether. :)

    • @MechNinji
      @MechNinji  6 років тому

      I'm just using 360 degrees servos I bought from robotshop.com. I would say the servos can push at least twice their weight if they aren't modified for speed.

    Do you connect the servos straight to the receiver, or do you use an Arduino motor driver?

    • @MechNinji
      @MechNinji  7 років тому

      Straight to the receiver. With a bot this size an Arduino really would do anything and it would add unnecessary weight.

    You should speed hack the drive servos. Much more speed.
    You should also do some channel mixing, its much more natural to control I find.

    • @MechNinji
      @MechNinji  8 років тому

      haha! funny you should say that cuz I actually already have modified the servos for more speed! ( although they were not yet modified in this video). And i have thought about channel mixing but I actually really like how its set up now. Thanks so much for watching! :)

    What if another small bot gets into the space below the flipper when it is open?
    - Also, how do your servos make the robot go more than 180 degrees? Is it a motor?

    • @MechNinji
      @MechNinji  7 років тому

      That's part of the reason I have that short wall underneath the flipper, to stop other bots. However if something does drive in I would just shake them off. But if we get stuck together then the ref will usually stop the match, pulls us apart and then resume the fight. For drive motors I am using standard 180 degree servos that I modified to run 360.

      My kids love battlebots, so I vowed to build some with and for them. And I'm watching your vids and reading ALL you comments. Great work, btw. OK, questions:
      1) I have a hacksaw. Is a coping saw just a finer, more precise version of a hack saw? When do you using one vs the other?
      2) What the hell is a bench grinder?!? I googled it, see it, but what do you use it for when building?
      Thanks in advance, man!

      Well a transmitter is a remote you hold. so if you want your robot to go forward you just push the control stick forward. And so the receiver sits inside your robot and tells the motors what you are doing to the remote and therefore how you want the robot to move. :) I hope that was helpful!
