Appreciate the content. Never have i been so interested in the group of golf balls ranked 90-100. Ive also never been so excited for 89-80 coming out 😂. I always appreciate independent testers with no skin in the game other than to create good content.
Wilson Zip… so many people like them, I’m not sure I’ve ever even found one, or found one in like new condition where I would try it. It seems like they are going away. So, fear of missing out, … I bought a 24 pack at Walmart a week or two ago to try out. Problem is, I live near Buffalo/Niagara Falls and likely won’t get to golf outside until late March or early April and it will still be cold and muddy, and not a great time for evaluating the Zip, and then by May the Zip inventory may be all gone and I am left with about 2 dozen of a ball that is no longer available. I wish I had tried the Zip three years ago. Snooze … you lose.
Shocking to see Kirkland as a basement dweller. When I find a Nitro they go into my shag bag. They feel like rocks!!! Thanks for another great video!! You nailed the lighting for the video and the camera focus:) Looking forward to the next video. I pulled up last years top 100 when I was shopping for golf balls at Golf Galaxy 🙂 Good stuff!!!
Thank you as always ed. A lot of people are always surprised of my Kirkland opinions but I'm just basing them off the numbers. If you go back and look at that V3 review there's a lot of analysis in there as well
Listening to you rant about the Bigg Crusher was the highlight of my day 😂 Good stuff! Kinda fun listening to you rip on a few of these! I just got the trial pack of Penson balls. I dig the look of them personally, and they feel incredibly high quality on feel alone. We'll see how they play. Little nervous with how low they are though 😅 I thought they woulda been higher for sure.
So I can only assume you're talking about the V2 since that's the only one with a ton of spin. So my question is, are you just Mass buying or possibly buying used v2s? Because if you're buying the ones in Costco right now that are the v3s those don't spin it all. And also, I feel like there are many balls that spin just as much but don't offer the sacrifice that you have to with distance and consistency that the Kirkland has. Just keep watching the top 100 and I'll try to highlight a few of them. 😁
The Kirkland V3 was a 3 piece 90+ compression. So basically the golfers who buy this budget alternative are precisely the golfers who should not be playing them. That’s why I keep finding them in the woods.
Love the channel, I have gone overboard with the golf ball research and I appreciate what you do. I used to get so overwhelmed standing in the golf ball isle. I made my own spreadsheet that is growing everyday. Question, does driver spin have anything to do with balls sidespin from O/I or I/O path? Like will a ball with high driver spin slice more than a distance ball with low driver spin?
"Damn..... I hit my 8 iron into the green on 11 and it spun so much it came back and hit me in the head!"______ Kirkland player 😆 Loved the first installment Nick Can't wait for more! ... Rule of thumb in golf ball purchasing if the letters NITRO are on it ...run...run away 🤣
The thing that surprises me the most about nitro is that they don't even have a website. I don't even know who makes them. I just seem to spring out of nowhere. 😂
I’d love a ball that spun all the way back to my feet! It would be great for practicing wedge shots so I wouldn’t have to go collect them all! Think of it, you could practice with one ball, just like hitting into a wall or a net. They could call it The Boomerang ball!
wow you have me locked in. the bridgestone e12 was a surprise just because of the name. then i look up and see 2 sleeves of the e12 i did get on clearance for $10 but just moved to the practice ball like lol
Yeah Bridgestone does an incredible job with their Pro series, but that's clearly where all the effort goes. The e6 is okay but it could be improved. The e12 needs some work. The e9 isn't my favorite and will be low on the list as well. But every year they keep coming out with new tour balls. And they keep getting better. Maybe they just need a little more time
I feel the opposite… I want a top 150 list! I really enjoy the list and the anticipation of where my favorite 5 or 6 will end up, as well as others I don’t buy or play, but am curious about.
Honestly I was really surprised that the video ended up 27 minutes. I was shooting for around 15 to 20 and next thing I know it's like 30 minutes long. I cut as much as I could but otherwise I was cutting out comedy gold. I can't take that away from you guys 😂
I usually play a softer ball. Like a Vice pro soft or Callaway Supersoft. But i played in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at the Vidanta Nicklaus course. I treated myself and bought a dozen Pro V1's and Pro V1x's to play if im spending this much on a round. I played the hell out of the pro v1x. I had TWO eagles and shot 11 over. Which sucked, because now i have to justify buying pro v1x's.....or find a similar alternative. Has to be the vice tour or pro plus right?
Great analysis, thank you! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
First thing you want to do is increase the flux capacitor and rig it to go 88 GW in a circle divisible by 3. Then you're going to go to the mall and skippity toilet Ohio rizz. Hope this helps
I still have a box of the original Costco ball...but after that it's not worth it. I'm sticking with my Legato or Zip when I can still find them. PS the Zip is very good for indoor sim play as I like the durability. Might be a good new category to add, good for Sim but not for Play. I'm a member of an indoor sim which appear to be cropping up more over the last year.
I live for the bottom of these lists because irritated is fun. Never change Golf Ball Addict. Never ever EVER change. By the way, in defense of Bridgestone, I love the E12. In defense of this channel, I am really bad at golf.
LOL that's hilarious. Like I said, there are plenty of people who have challenged me on the e12. I'm definitely going to try to review it in 2025 and see if there's any changes. Wouldn't be the first time I got one wrong.
@ It’s reference from the movie Zoolander. Basically it just means you’re on your way and the best is yet to come. Just thought you might have been nerdy enough to get it. Make sure you announce before you do another livestream. Definitely have some stuff I want to ask.
Yeah definitely a good call. There's very few balls on this Earth that don't even make the cut to be good enough to be a shag ball or a water ball. But that's one of them
I'm glad to see the Bridgestone E12 on this list. Straight hot garbage that's been baking out in the Florida Sun for the entire summer! I'm surprised about the Mizuno 566. I bought a sleeve of those a while back and played them in the winter when it was cold and did not think they were too bad.
@funmachine3 I disliked the E12 so much that I couldn't see myself ever buying them, regardless of how much better they can potentially be now. I would literally have to find one and also be almost out of balls to play an E12 again. Even then, if I ran out of balls on hole 17 and that's all that I could use was an E12, I would probably shake hands with the rest of the group grab my clubs and walk back to the car.
I bought the E12 Contact shortly after it came out. I try a lot of golf ball models (unfortunately my basement has quite a few boxes of a dozen golf balls with about half left.). I’m not much of a golf ball snob, I think most golf balls are at least okay, but the E12 cover shredded with my irons (and they are not new or like new grooves on my irons) and the Quantix ball (whichever one has the “proprietary blend” cover) shredded also. So both of those balls were rejects for me, just on their durability alone. Thankfully, I don’t have any experiences with any of the other golf balls in this video.
With all these DTC companies trying to imitate the PROV1, seems like non golf investors or someone with more $> 🧠 thinking they can grab some quick ROI. Glad you're shining a light on them. Maybe some are really trying to make a good ball but just not hitting the mark. Guess we'll see 🤙
Yeah this is a great take. This is honestly what reminded me of the big crusher so much. It seemed like a company just had a random business idea and thought they could cash in. They obviously know nothing about the golf industry, including even the basics of terminology. Seems like a cash grab.
A few years back, Foremost golf ball manufacturing had on their website that they would sell you golf balls with your logo on them for a minimum purchase of 3,000 golf balls. That’s not a lot of money to start your own brand. I never looked any further into it regarding packaging or shipping and I don’t know enough about marketing and sales and web design and everything else, but jeez, just an order of 3,000 balls to get started? My wife would have been so angry with me… happy wife/happy life. My point is, it isn’t all that big of an initial investment to start your own golf ball brand by just buying stock balls with your logo on it from a contract golf ball manufacturing company in Taiwan, or China, or Vietnam. Obviously a bunch of DTC brands are doing it, and some are doing it quite well. Some others, not so well.
I don't mind the idea that a small company would target a niche. The company needs to know what their niche is, actually be best in that niche and then communicate it.
I can completely understand that reasoning and mindset of thinking. However your niche still has to be a big enough market that you can stay in business. If your niche is 0.001% of the golfing market, that's already going to be an almost impossible task. Now you've got to advertise and somehow get your name out there to that 0.001% and Hope that even some of them purchase your product.
@ Obviously the niche has to be big enough. If you’re not in a niche then how do you distinguish your product? The marketing message and expense is even more challenging. The task seems near impossible considering all the competition.
I'm a fan of your work and the reviews but people do have to understand certain golf balls work for different players. These rankings are off your opinion of how they work for you.
So you're not wrong. I do want to make sure something is clarified though. One, the only part of my reviews that are opinionated is on the design of the golf ball. Everything else is by numbers and facts. I simply test the ball and then I give you guys the numbers. The other thing, I feel pretty confident in saying that the test I conduct work for any swing speed from the high 80s to the low 100s. Which covers most of the average golfers. I fully acknowledge that if you are a slower swinger in the 70s then yes our results will be much much different. Same thing goes for 110 mph Plus.

Interesting take on the Kirkland. I understand that it doesn't work for you but for those of us who need more spin it has its place.

Thank you very much brother. Should be a good list this year
I'm really glad to hear that kirkland is making a V4. They'll get it right, and when they do it's going to be awesome.
It depends. If they keep trying to chase the Pro V1 I don't think they're ever going to really be truly successful. I hope they reroute
@@GolfBallAddictYes, Kirkland should come out with a great playing 2 piece ball like a Seed Country Mile or Cut Red.

Costco should make soft ionomer 2 piece balls. Or just buy top flite, then put the urethane cover again.
It'll be better than the V3 and play similar with the new PXG balls launched mid to late last year.
I was waiting for the Odin X after seeing the review this week. Great video Nick!!
