A SIMPLE EXPLANATION BECAUSE I WAS ALSO CONFUSED: basically, Mitty is upset with how boring his life is. he is daydreaming about a cooler life throughout the story when presented with a boring task. for example, his wife gives him gloves and then he starts daydreaming about being a doctor and putting surgical GLOVES on to complete the operation. the reason for all of the jumps in the story is because he is zoning out, daydreaming about this cool, imaginary life and then coming back to reality :)
TY
What about when it randomly went to him in a court case? What trigged that daydream

Summary of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" from google: "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" tells the story of the aging Walter Mitty on a trip into town with his overbearing wife, Mrs. Mitty. Walter is inept at many things; he is an absent-minded driver, he can't handle simple mechanical tasks, and he forgets things easily. What makes Walter exceptional is his imagination.
Dude I’ve seen so many of your videos and I must say you should be far more popular than what you are currently. Your content is just all around great quality and I appreciate you helping me through 11th grade English:)
Had to read this sophomore year of high school, hated it. Relisten now (40+) excellent. Thanks so much
This is for my class.
Do some more by James Thurber. I just learned of this title today and it was great to be able to get some dishes done while listening to the story. I'd heard of the movie, but didn't know anything about the premise or anything else. I think you could do justice to some more of Thurber's work, if he has other witty takes like this one.
You have a gorgeous voice
That's good and thank you for helping me sir
