I bought a road glide ST last year for my first motorcycle, best decision ever after a little bit of help and a 2 day training course from the dealership
Jerry, on the head pipe subject; I installed a Supertrapp open head pipe on my 2020 RKS. Along with a set of Kerker mufflers. The open pipe got rid of the catalytic converter which improved acceleration, sounds way better, and reduced heat generation along the right side of the bike.
I'm a diehard Harley guy but I just can't justify their prices. I can afford them too. I always buy a 2 year old used bike with less than 5K miles on it and I instantly save $10K. I can't see where the $30K is when I look at these bikes.
Same here. Love Harleys. My wiife has one and I have one. However, decided to keep my old one and purchased Kawi Concours 1400 for a fraction of price, to go fast when I feel like it.
Good on you Bill, same here paid 10 K Australian for my sportster custom ,3oookm chick I got it from kept in her lounge room n paid 23 K for it , with the exchange rate new bikes all seem very pricey USA , happy travels
many of our roads down here in Australia are in poor shape due to recent floods. I hit a few big pot holes on my road trip and I was pleasantly surprised with how stable it is. Not even a shake of the bars. it just sailed across them. I did get bounced out of the saddle on a couple of them but no worse than my Heritage would have. In the corners the bike holds a line beautifully, really impressed with the handling for a bike of this size and weight.
Hi Jerry, your in my brothers vicinity. At end of Eastwood and Peace Blvd we’re house with Stars and Stripes, hope to meet up sometime. God bless and hello to Miss Donna.
glad I bought my RG ST in feb of 22' bc the price was $30K and the 23' RG ST at the same dealership I just seen was up to $34k. I absolutely love my ST and my 12' RG but aint no way in hell someone can justify $53k on one of those new CVO's
Thanks for the report. Just looking to buy a '22 and the Street Glide is up there. I would like a Touring with Lowers and Tour Pak but liquid cooling and all the other excesses of the Ultra are just more stuff in the way. Harley Davidson would like you to stop calling them crash guards. They prefer that the Fronts are Engine Guards and the Rears are Saddle Bag Guards.
Hi Jerry. Just bought the same bike a few weeks ago from Patriot Harley in Fairfax Virginia. Put 2300 miles on it before storing it for the winter. This is my 4th Harley but haven't been in the seat for 5 years. Saw your channel and have been practicing what you teach. I'm 55 next month but never too old to learn new tricks. Appreciate you brother. - FBINA 215
@@Drillinanpiping Right on brother. Just so you know, I paid $35,000 out the door for my ST. I hope you have a good experience. I'd recommend talking to a guy named Davis if you have questions. If you decide on an ST and want to upgrade to a stage 2, you won't have to pay for a larger cam since it already comes with a 117. Just something to think about when making a decision on which one to buy. Stay safe my friend.
Yea I was estimating around that especially since I’ll need a 2 up seat off the bat with the ST, and of course it will need pipes. Haven’t had a Harley since my 05 Fat Boy but I miss that beauty and have always wanted a nice bagger and these ST’s are my kinda style especially in the white sand pearl. Magnificent. I went to a K1600B from an Ultra classic, the bike is great more gadgets and gizmos than I’ll ever use and plenty of power. But I do miss the character of a Harley but can’t justify the prices, mines paid for so I doubt I’ll switch anytime soon.
Nice looking bike. I have a 2020 Streetglide Special with taller HD772 Ohlins shocks, way better than stock, rides great. Gonna stick with this for another 3 years I reckon. Love the bike.
Why not a rigid frame with a Knuckle engine? I know everybody who's getting old need Comfort, but I invest on a Airhawk pillow under my ass, and problem solved
Man, a bike like this with the 117, the different suspension, the “performance” tune, and all the little extras, would be a huge hit if it were just reasonably priced!? Not cheap. Just reasonable. $24-$25k and I would be all over that bike! Of course, I would guess that Harley isn’t having too many problems selling these bikes as is.
Nice bike. I bought a 21 blacked out RG Limited and that will probably be my last bike. My health is going down faster than VP Harris so I’ll probably just ride this one until I can’t.

Wind buffeting beat my brains in for the first couple of days so I dropped into a dealer and put on a new screen and some adjustable wind deflectors. Much improved

Did you have to do any tuning when you added the slip-on mufflers? When I added some slip-on mufflers on my ST it caused the engine to surge at idle sometimes. I'm going to do a tuner to take that out, I think the fact that the bike is free flowing from the factory once I added the additional free flowing mufflers it changed the tune or it can't tune for it by itself.
I went with the 4'' Tab mufflers with the medium baffles and the bike runs perfectly. No tuner needed. Now, if you get 4.5 or 5'' mufflers with the zombie baffles or no baffles, I could see the computer not being able to adjust itself enough.

I own a 22 Gray ST. It was the bridge for the gap between Ducati's/sportbikes for me, into HD. The only AWFUL things about HD so far are the dealer service departments; they are absolutely diabolically bad. HD corporate because it's gone so woke. No. It is not.
I own a 22 Gray ST. It was the bridge for the gap between Ducati's/sportbikes for me, into HD. The only AWFUL things about HD so far are the dealer service departments; they are absolutely diabolically bad. HD corporate because it's gone so woke. And a LOT of HD people who hate you because you have a bike they cannot have for whatever reason. I've been riding since 1970, raced sportbikes, ridden everywhere. Yet, for some reason, in HD culture, a lot of you just act like spoiled little brats because someone has a bike you don't. Pathetic.
I've been riding and buying Harleys for 26 years and never noticed a single thing you mentioned in your comment. Maybe, you're the problem.
“ Is it worth $30,000. ???
Hahaha Hahaha 🤣

Like the saying goes. a fool, and his money.................................
Man that's beautiful, I'd pay maybe 25k..
The difference with the gold wing, you don't have to upgrade absolutely everything that Harley knows is crap, so add another $10 grand to the Harley .
Yall are just gonna trade it in within 2 years lmao
