I've just got the same razor and thank your for teaching me the process. You've probably saved me numerous (and serious) nicks and cuts to the face. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to get visibility around the positions but its only been my third shave with the razor. HUGE THANK YOU AGAIN!!!

Thanks again Geo, I love the straight razor on the weekends when I have lots of time. Find the DE the quickest for the Monday to Friday early morning shaves! You were speeding in this video, was waiting for a State Trooper to pop on camera and write you a ticket! LOL I would love to see a video on different types of after shave you stock! My favorite is the Geo F. Trumper Skye aftershave!

Definitely true. I usually use a blade for about a month each. Unless I feel it has dulled but 1 month per blade is good as long as you dry and clean them after each use

My first time with a straight razor took me about 45 minutes to shave.

Another awesome video. One day I'll work up to getting a real straight razor or a Shavette, I like the wood handle on that feather I didn't see it on your website at first but I'm glad you showed this on youtube.

I've just started to with the we shaving and I completely forgot about the stretching the skin to get below the jaw line, I was having the hardest time not causing skin irritation around that area. Haha rookie move, thanks for the awesome vid's. I'll review my order when it comes in. Sitting in Canuck customs for the last 4 days, why I don't know I can order from Europe and get things in two days, US it takes a longer. I'll review all the stuff I bought, when it arrives!!! Great vids!!!

    Hi Geo
    Another great video, Sir!
Also loved your last video; shaving outdoors in the snow! Now that took some guts! I wonder if anyone saw you as you were filming and wondered what on earth was going on?! LOL!
    Keep up the great work.
    Respect from the UK bro!

Nice technique GEO! From the sound of this shave and the thickness of your beard, it looks like the machined razor blades are a lot sharper than honed straight razor blades. Am I right about that?

A year late for this, but yes. Almost any factory razor blade will be much sharper than a normal straight razor, but sharp doesn't always necessarily mean better

I noticed that you held the razor at a totally different angle from a traditional straight.

Sometimes I work backwards by stripping and if that doesn’t work, then fabric with chromium oxide paste and if that doesn’t work, then an 8000 grit stone for 5-6 strokes per side
