i always loved looking around rock pools when i was young, still do now when i get the chance. when i was a kid i went fishing in the tweed river. i was shocked when i got a bite and reeled in a broken beer bottle. There was a small octopus inside it. must have been over 35 years ago, but its something i will never forget.
That is absolutely incredible!! I can't even imagine the rollercoaster of emotions 🤣 Thinking it's a fish, then just a bottle then actually no there's an octopus inside lol! What a great story, thank you for sharing it 😊
I generally like your videos, But I especially loved this one. It'd have been pretty fun to look out for interesting especies like those. I admire your job. Have a nice day.🙃
Amazing footage enjoyed every moment I fished those areas while living in Brisbane I do miss all the natural beauty of the eastern coastline the rainforest Thank you again for your adventures I feel motivated to travel over find a place to pitch tent enjoy what I miss doing aquarium's fish collection fishing mmm!! Manny
That's a great idea!! Next time I want to get some better close up shots too. How cool, blue ringed octopus are incredible and beautiful little creatures
You gotta come to North Queensland & do the tidal pools. I love it, that's going to be 1 of the segments I'm going to have on my channel. I'm getting closer to kick-off, about 4 idea's I plan on introducing to the world very soon. Your channel is in my top 5, I love it long time. ;)
Loved this video Kait! Finn’s fancy bucket with all those beauties was so impressive! This video really makes me wanna start a marine tank. But marine fish are so expensive here in Canada. Wish you could ship me some of those across😅
Thank you!! Yes it was so cool, I was shocked by the diversity, it definitely exceeded my expectations. I sometimes feel inspired to start a marine tank too, but yes, it's not cheap 🤣
Love these interesting vlogs, great fun! I watched octopus teacher too, made me cry at the end but so amazing. I’ve had my new first African Cichlid tank setup about 2 months now, got 8 electric yellows at the moment, it’s under stocked at the moment on purpose as I’m going away for 3 weeks soon so will make that easier for me! They are so interesting and loving my rocky scape 😊
Thank you so much Carl! It's such a great documentary and it absolutely made me cry too 🤣 That's awesome to hear your new tank is coming along nicely 😊 Electric yellows are beautiful little fish
Definitely!! If you type in Hastings Point lookout it should take you to the carpark. Then you just walk across the grass to the beach and they're there 😊
I use Unicorn Pool Filter sand which I got from Clark Rubber 😊 It doesn't raise the pH but it's nice and clean and cheap. Aragonite sand is also great for them as it raises the pH, it's a bit more pricey though
@Kaity's Cichlids aragonite sand was too expensive so I got some coral sand and some pool filter. Thanks for your advice Kaity and I love to watch your videos🥰
The variety of animals in the rockpools was awesome to see. Thanks for everyone in taking time out to shows us this. Is there any rock pools in the qld area or is it unique to NSW?
There definitely is! I know there are some nice ones at Burleigh Beach on the Gold Coast, and all the way up to Cairns in North QLD too. It's definitely not restricted to NSW, but the types of organisms you would find would vary depending on how far North/South you go
Awesome,Video Kaity what a vibe! I really enjoyed it 🙌🤩!
Thank you!! 😁 Gotta give saltwater some love
I love your "Adventure Videos" I always like to wade around, and turn over rocks to see what I can find!

Thank you!! Yes, there's heaps you can keep as long as you're not selling them. You just have to make sure they're not protected though 😊

rockpools are so diverse. the ones in the uk have a lot less dangerous creatures but are almost as cool
Hahaha yes, everything in Australia wants to kill you lol. It's crazy how much you can uncover in them that you wouldn't even know is there
When did you go to arcy? Because that’s my local store that I’m always at
Oh that's awesome!! We went a couple weeks back on Labour Day I think it was
Love it would love to take the kids there can you tell me where the rock pools are please thanks
Definitely!! If you type in Hastings Point lookout it should take you to the carpark. Then you just walk across the grass to the beach and they're there 😊
How long did it take for the cichlids to grow that size?
About a year and a half from juvenile size 😊 They still have a bit more growing to do
I'm just curious as to how you get tubs of greek yoghurt that big
We have them in most of the shops around here 🤣 There's tubs of hommus that big too lol
Hiiiiii ❤❤❤
Heyyyy Laura! 😊👋💕
which substrate do you use in your cichlids aquarium ? Can you tell me the best substrate for cichlids aquarium?
