Square owes you some money because I was on the fence with the service and the terminal, but now I'm definitely thinking of moving on forward with purchasing. Also thanks for doing the vid that doesn't suck.
Can you use this as a card machine only. For example use your square pos system and use that as a card machine so customers can input their PIN number without me turning my pos system over for them to type
Thank you for doing this videos they are very informative. I do have a couple of observations that I was hoping you wouldn’t mind answering: 1. Your USB cash drawer. Let’s say you have a rush of customers and your employees are “greeting” each customer by walking up to them away from the counter. Presumably they would take their order, payment, and after they receive their smoothie the transaction would be compete. Now, let’s say the customer pays with cash your employee has to walk back to the counter, plug into the hub (wait for it to connect?) and then hand them their cash. Is this essentially how this works? Is it annoying that you have to plug into a cash drawer or is it just a minor inconvenience? 2. How did you mount the USB cash drawer? Did you find mounts at a local hardware store? 3. Have you tried any of the other accessories such as the barcode scanner, wireless or other? How does that process streamline for you? Sorry for all the questions but couldn’t help myself as all your videos have been very helpful!
@@randomrazr hey bud, I ended up just going with a square stand for a few reasons. I felt like lugging the terminal around and then having to take it back to the stand to scan a barcode defeated the purpose. I do like the software though, hope this helps!
Great video. I bought a Square Terminal. I had to buy a USB cash drawer also. The Micros POS, Drawer and Printer i purchased some time ago uses serial port. I was trying to figure out how I can at least use the Epson printer with Square POS on tablet. Can I use a rs232 to USB adapter and plug into the square hub? Will the Square hub only work with the Terminal or can I use the Hub with my Android Tablet to connect Cash Drawer and Epson printer?
Yes I understand that but in the video the cash store didn’t open when you had it hooked up to the terminal. I was just wanting to find out which cash drawer you were using
That didn’t come out right at all. In the video the cash drawer opened when you had a terminal hooked up to it. I just wanted to know which cash drawer you have that hooked up to
@@hair_analysis Royal has a cash drawer that connect via USB and it says it works with Square. But Im guessing the USB Hub by Square is the key. I bought my Royal cash drawer at Sams Club. Hope this helps a year later.

How do you set it up so that the terminal says ticket & charge on the blue stripe on top. Mine just says review sale on the blue tab on the bottom.
Will the USB printer print an order ticket even when the Square Terminal is NOT connected to the Square hub? So connected to a WiFi source

We don't for the terminal and just use a cashbox. The terminal does not have cash management available so for us it was pointless.

In my opinion the traditional POS systems are better and more useful....i.e. cash drawer and REAL keyboard and mouse.
You are correct. The Terminal is also much more expensive to operate. Stay tuned for an updated on that.
