Bro!!! Thank You For Using My New Fishing Rap Song “Tug Life” In Your Video! Been Watching You Slay Fish Since Day 1!!! Hope We Can Fish Together In The Near Future! Nice Video And Catch And Cook! Be Careful On Those Cliffs #AnyFishCanGetIt #FishermansLife 🔊🔊🔊
Love the old school shore fishing vids. I think the reason most of us folks prefer them is because we're all too cheap to own boats lol. I still watch the boat based vids but prefer these way more. Anyhow, thanks for another great video Matt!
Your salt water videos are so great, but I absolutely LOVE your fresh water overnight camping videos!! Thanks for letting us live through your camera lens.
It would have toasted much faster with just a spread of butter. Or toast at home and heat it up there with butter. Perhaps Cook that spud ahead of time, or even better use instant mash potatoes instead.
Okay, let’s just take a deep breath and appreciate how these random montages and different angle shifts turned out beautiful. This brought a different perspective in his story telling with the vlog
LOVE the underwater camera. We all know what the bottom of the ocean looks like, but its just such a unique perspective and such a great addition to the video!
New recipe suggestion: an “all surf, no turf” super burrito...an all seafood caught & foraged (including mussels, limpet, uni, crabs, fish) w/ your salt water rice, some foraged herbs, seaweed, and of course avocado 🥑, your choice of additional ingredients (like pico de gallo, hotsauce, cheese, lime) wrapped in a pillowy, slightly buttered tortilla. All prepared the Fisherman’s Life way! 👍🏽
Man is living his life, nice meal, nice sunset and an easy bag for the bank sheesh have a great day bro keep up the work been a fan since he had 100k followers.
Your video production has improved through the years!! Nice two camera, underwater, drone setup and editing! Keep up the great videos and promoting the sport of fishing! Stay safe and keep on fishing.
For the fish, do exactly what you did here, but add some cajun seasoning to the fish as well, then form the fish into a tight ball and press down to shape into a patty. Spend just a little more time to shape and form this patty into something solid. Then put the fish through an egg and panko dip. This should help keep it together better and form a more crispy outside. Use the sourdough you were going to originally, and toast with less butter. When the fish is done, add a squeeze of lemon juice, the avocado, and some of your favorite hot sauce on top. For bonus points, get a dry cole slaw and add just a little bit of oil and tarter sauce, just enough to coat but not enough to make it too wet/saucy, and add a little underneath the fish. You'll have the light/fresh/tang from the slaw, the crunch/fresh/flavor from the fish meat, acidity/zest/aromatics from the lemon, earthy/creaminess from the avocado, spice/vinegar from the hot sauce, and the crisp/butteriness from the toasted sourdough. I just ate and I'm hungry.
I just started fishing recently and was looking for videos and I gotta say, I appreciate you for doing these videos. My favorite parts are always when you give thanks to them, it’s very comforting to see someone appreciate the lives and understand the cycle. Thanks, keep it up! Great content!
I went fishing once like 4 or 5 years ago. It was fun. I liked it but have never had the chance for it again. I love watching this channel because it is so entertaining and awesome. Fishing is great!
Awesome video, once again only Matts can take a almost Skunk video and make it entertaining and motivating!!! How’s the ankle Bro? I ask because I think some of us old school Fisherman’s Life Subs need to hear that warning horn on the jetty again!!! We haven’t heard it in a long time!!! That would be nice to see some Bobber rigging from the jetty and maybe a lil camera action!!! But only if you think you can do it safely on your injury cause climbing cliffs and walking on wet stones are two different disciplines!!! But anyway thanks for the awesome content as usual!!! Tight Lines!!!
That much urchin is upsetting. After the starfish plague and the abalone red tide they’re eating all the kelp and destroying near shore habitat. You can also see how they ripped up all that eel grass which is the nursery for everything that lays eggs near shore.
purple urchins strip kelp beds, no kelp beds means no fish nursery/ habitat, no fish means sad fisherman. We need to control their numbers and harvest them.
Hey man, always love your videos. I really enjoyed this one though. I dont know why, I think it was the charisma and natural, positive energy. In any case, keep it up man. Always a pleasure
21:40 Bishop Bullwinke - "Hell naw, to da naw naw naw, Hell to da naw." Try some Vietnamese style fish cake. Grind and smash the meat until it's a paste, add some powdered seasonings, minced scallion and onion. Shape a scoop of it like a cookie and cook it in a pan.
Matts if you want to taste mostly the fish, find a recipe for crab cakes from the virginia area. They use mostly the crab and just enough binders to make it a patty and not fall apart. I will try to find a good one and include it.
There is a lil technique that i love using while fishing near rocks and boulders that saved me a loot of lures in the years. You wanna try to make your lure "bounce" a short way back underwater, because usually the lure is only slightly stuck in a hole between two rocks. So you grab the line with your weak hand and build quite a bit of tention, then you take your stronger hand and act like you would play a plucking instrument, but really aggressively. Do not be afraid to put high pressure on the line while doing this. After you let the lue "bounce", i would say you can get the lure back in maybe 60 - 70 percent of the time. I hope i could help somebody with this poorly written technique, have a great day :)
Real criticism for you: I'm a long time watcher. You don't have to force yourself to talk during the entire video to the camera. One of the things I liked about your videos is how it was so asmr like. It was like a conversation between nature and a fisherman. But now it's just you talking to us. I can't watch your 40min videos while doing work anymore. :/ but I think a combination of both is the sweet stuff. Especially when you add little educational info as a treat.
Hey man I didn't expect you to read this comment thanks! I'd like to recommend you to youtubers Matthew Posa to what I meant and Primitive Technology is the extreme as to what I meant by what I said above. But of course, do you videos in your style! I watch you because of you. And congrats to 1mil subscribers!
I give you all the props! Man you hiked new areas and found a fish and made a paddy that really looked like lean meat! Man I would have never thought that was fish!
All the hard work you put into these videos makes me appreciate them even more. I world try that fish like that and see how I liked it. Bet it was pretty good.
Dude!! Your vids are awesome. Just moved out to the coast here in Western Washington. I've lived in Washington my whole life and have never fished the serf or the jetys we have out here. I'm currently around gray's harbor. The fishing is great. I love watching your vids. Lots of great content and I love your channel because you seem to be a hell of a lot like me man. Love your stuff! Keep it up!
Liked and watched full add . Glad to see you with a million subs as a west coast local I really enjoy your fishing adventures north and south I’m familiar with the areas
Great video. Scary on those cliffs so be careful! Fishing on the rocks is not always about catching but more of the adventure. Much more exciting I think.

Witnessing Matt's descent into slow madness 😂
For some reasons I love watching these videos before bed, I just binge these until I’m tired.
Matt, don't you ever walking down the cliff like that. You might be fine but it sure gave me a heart attack.
@Johnny Nonya I was holding my breath for him and praying that he wouldn't slip. Matts is crazy for adventures.

That seabed was 90% seaurchins
shows how invasive they are, we need to harvest and establish a market for them to control their numbers
@@92bagder Here in my part of the world we use them as bait to catch permit jacks and pompano.
Dang, Im over here craving seaurchins and hoping to get some for a cheap price
They taste pretty good, I'm surprised we dont start a market to control their population
I started fishing just because of your videos, got my first rod after binge watching your channel. Keep em coming!! Thank you.
18:16 "can I get a like tho, for cookin on these rocks?" hell yeah brother
This is my new favorite fishing channel right here! I love the style. Fun to watch.
Let Taku know where that bed of sea urchins, someone needs to try to make a dent in that population.
Another collaboration video with Taku would be dope. 👍🏼
collab
Grits and Glamour I was thinking of Taku needing to get down there too. 😂
They are really everywhere under the water in rocky areas north of the bay if you want to drive for them.
I respect and love how genuinely happy his videos are. Like that's the overall stand point of every video is just happiness

gnarly climb down to that spot, love the areas you fish. awesome

Climate. Change.
That bottom looked sterile didn't it? No kelp, nothing but urchins.
