Tanking doesn’t even guarantee a top pick. You can have the worst record in the NBA and still end up picking 13th. Tanking in the NBA is dumb. Some team that doesn’t tank, will end up drawing the number 1 pick and be in a much better spot than Toronto for years to come. Tanking is NOT the move. Especially because Cooper Flagg is not some generational talent to try to tank for 😂
If you get Cooper Flagg, he fits the roster if you know you have to make a hard trade in the near future (RJ or IQ). He fits perfect so Scottie can play the 3 and ee have some more size. Work up a new Center.. say even Comche pans out. So far he all defence and Cooper Flagg is just an all around machine.. our defence will be silly. Have 2 of the other 3 i mentioned and you got solis offence. Now I not saying thats the winning team, just kind of highlights how coopwr Flagg, Scotrltie and a good Center can suffocate other teams and add some perimter scoring and you got a team for sure.. IMO
Why are we talking about tanking? So unsportsmanlike we play to win every game let the chips fall where they may. But you don't talk about intentionally losing games to get a good draft pick. You may not, but some people bet on the games, so talking about intentionally losing games, will rub a lot of people the wrong way. I for one. It's still not guaranteed that you will get a good pick by intentionally losing. And if you asked me l think that the NBA should severely fine and punished teams that intentionally do that. Phi did it for years. And look where phi is right now. You want tor to tank, and a team like phi who has done this for years and was one of the fav. To win a championship, is now dead last in the same conference as tor. Tanking is unsportsmanlike and really you should not be having these conversations.
The NBA needs to go a step further than that and start fining teams for not trying to win or for resting their starters most of the second-half of a blowout. The product is awful. The players don’t play. It’s a crapshoot what games are meaningful to them and which ones aren’t. I literally can’t watch it anymore.
This team is still going to finish at bottom of the east. We all know you don’t need to have the worst record to win the draft. Atlanta literally lost a few more games than us last season and won the draft. Once the allstar game is over it’s/ going to be Ulrich and Carton minutes.

Imo I don’t see how cooper Flagg fits with the current roster. I’d rather them get a top 10 lottery pick and have a player impact the bench etc
