Very well said, that'd exactly how I feel about Orlando as well. Players need to be in the right system and be the right coach sometimes.

We’re not trying to move the needle we’re rebuilding and trying to find assets for next season and beyond. We’ve been told this many times that we’re rebuilding! We’re trying find young players we can develop! When you’re a rebuilding team you need to take flyers on young players showing any kind of flashes with the hope’s of developing them. This is exactly how we found Chris Boucher for example. Chris was playing for the Warriors G League team and we took a flyer on him and he ended up becoming a asset for our championship run. If you’re a rebuilding team that’s not taking flyers on players like this you’re not doing your job as a GM. It doesn’t matter if they don’t stick around and you cut them but you have to take flyers on them with the hope’s of finding something. How do you think Max Strus ended up on Miami and eventually signing a big contract with the cavs this past off season ? He was playing on the Bulls G League team when Miami took a flyer on him and he shot the lights out during their preseason. We have no depth at the center position.

you are assuming he was willing to sign in toronto. thats the problem.

orlando robinson isnt a hidden gem. if he was, the heat would not have let him go, and kings would not have waived him. he is probably a 2nd or 3rd string center best case. look at his stats, he isnt a 3 pt shooter so wont create spacing. he isnt athletic. he has poor lateral movement, so he isnt mobile and cant switch. i doubt he can ball handle or pass to fit on darko's system also. if anything, he is a skinny version of bruno fernando. he isnt a vertical athlete.

​@giovanni-ed7zq hidden gems are exactly that though, what teams don't see, someone mentioned this in another comment but teams like Heat and Kings are competing there not trying to take their time with developing players. You could say the same about Ochai and why the Jazz who are a rebuilding team traded him.

​The heat and Kings letting him go is completely sifferent than a Wizards, Nets or Hornets letting him go. They had to space or time to develop, sometimes new scenery is good. Plus you saying 2nd string best case, thats a bad thing why? So what if he just a solid back up, way too early to tell considering his skill set. He shoots more 3s than the majority of Centers. He isn't athletic but he isn't not athletic either, he doesn't have poor lateral movement at all, maybe compared to Jimmy Butler lol, but as a Center, he can move. Can switch as good as our non switching Center currently who is better than most Centers. He can handle the ball solid for a Center too and pass reasonably well. For a Center.. seems everytime i see you talking about Centers you compare them to guard skills, like every Center has to be Chet or Wemby. Hr isn't skinny either lol, vertical athlete, yea not one of those.. still about the same as Poeltl who has had 10 massive dunks this year.. @gregsaddie it's not suggesting that Jimmy gets traded here to Toronto but so using Bruce's large contract as salary filler as a 3rd team to help initiate the trade.

@culee389 why not? They're gonna have to take back salary, and according to reports, they don't want to take on multiple years of contracts. Bruce is expiring so it works well for them

@robdan4528 it's not about who's reporting it, when you look at teams interested in trading for Jimmy it makes sense that a 3rd team would need to be involved! I also mentioned that the Raptors could use Bruce Brown's contract to help facilitate a Butler trade to a contender.

@@thewaraichreport if ya look at fadeaway world trade which involves 4 team where beal goes to nets, its likely the best outcome with boucher davion and brown going to heat and raptors getting like a 2031 2nd from heat and suns with raptors getting ben simmons and trendon watford.

in that trade davion is just filler throw in.

if ya look at the teams that are likely to trade for butler cuz they desperate, its unlikely the raptors get more than 2nd round picks in any deal. you looking at kings, warriors and nuggets. butler dont fit the okc or rockets time lines. suns cant trade for butler because they cant aggregate salary and can only trade beal who has a no trade clause. nuggets and suns dont really have picks. kings have a few 1st round picks they can move possibly. its likely the warriors imo. they send wiggins and the raptors send boucher and davion mitchell to heat for gary payton and looney for two 2nds. i dunno why people getting excited by this, its not like raptors are gonna get a 1st round pick in a deal.
