A review of the Master Grade Master Gundam from G Gundam. I don't usually get villain suits, but Mater Asia was just too cool!
- Production Notes for me to look at later but by all means feel free to take a look -
- This video is technically a reupload of a previous review. However, I had to take it down and swap out the music, so I decided to make some updates. Below are the notes for the original version, followed by the notes for this updated version.
- This was another one of those experimental reviews. I really tried to add new things, like images from the manual, more text and I even made a color gradient to compare to (scrapped it though).
- I kind of got to a point where it was too much on screen though, so I took a few steps back and got this more normal looking review. Still, I like the manual inserts for the gimmicks section and some of the new font descriptions.
- I shot about half of this footage drunk, so I didn't catch the lighting for the video stuff. It's a dark kit on a black back drop, so I should've opened the aperture more to compensate. Thankfully, When I bumped up the colors while editing, it created enough of a distinction between the kit and back drop that it isn't too bad.
- This also lead to a wide gap between the color/brightness of the video footage and still images. It was compounded when I fixed the exposure for the images (all shot in RAW). I'm hoping it's only really noticeable with this review, but we'll see if it's a persistent problem. Might have to cut back on bumping up the color of the images so they don't pop as much. Or maybe try and improve the video color, that'd really be the way to go. To use a fighting game term, better to buff the weak than nerf the strong.
- I scratched the auto focus points in my camera during this review. I'm beginning to think I shouldn't work drunk lol. It still auto focuses, but the viewfinder isn't as clear. I really need to invest in a new camera. Maybe I could track down a full frame.... Wouldn't that be nice
Here are the notes for this updated version
- Changed to the new music
- Re-EQ'd the audio track. Went much easier than the Zeta Plus A1. Think I found a solid process for it now. Fingers crossed it works on the next few.
- Touched up the colors. The filter I used on this originally was too poppy and artificial, so I use a more natural saturation boost. This made the colors a bit darker than with the previous filter, so I compensated by boosting the brightness of some shots
- Updated the font
- New title card. Used the reverse background of the G Gundam's title card. Kinda lazy on my part, but eh, maybe they're fighting!!!... ok, i'm sry, i'll try harder nxt time...lol
- Slowed down some of the zoom-in shots. I prefer a much more subtle zoom now-a-days.

I got this Kit, it is my first Gunpla ever, let me tell you, i got problems with it, but i still loved it, and boosted my interest into buy more Gunpla in the future.Really love the Master Gundam

It looks like Bandai wouldn't need to do much to make an improved version of this. Give it snap joints, modern thigh and hip joints, slim shoulders a tad and extend the elbow a bit and you got it.
EDIT: Oh and fix the wing binders.
When I first see master Gundam the first impression is Patlabor Griffon.
the only thing stopping me from buying this kit is the wing binder , it cant transform or just give some extra parts forming to make the cloak , even 1/100 HG master gundam can fold its wings, i dont really understand that they didnt include this gimmicks , cloak is one of the iconic features of master gundam, this kit is desperately needs its 2.0 version , with todays modern bandai engineering ,im pretty sure they can add those folding cloak feature / master asia's face parts /more beam cloths / more dynamic articulations

I love this suit but the clear decal type stickers suckkkkkk. The ones for the shoulders won't go on without crinkling.

The old 1/100 can do the wing binder cloak.
God the G-Gundam suits look dumb. But I guess that's what the creator was going for.

Shit. G-Gundam has some of the best designs. God Gundam, Shining Gundam, Bolt Gundam, Devil Gundam, Master Gundam, Dragon Gundam, Gundam Spiegel, Kowloon Gundam, and Minaret Gundam just to name a few.
