I was so happy to see that you posted you’ve been missed!! I can’t lie. I laughed so hard at the voles part because we’re all thinking the same 😅 we work too hard to have our crops constantly eaten lol good riddance! Haha
I tried China asters a couple years ago and they were just ‘meh’…pretty flowers but very stubby stems. I am always amazed at the variety you have in your patch. I am inspired to try to expand my options and grow a wider variety of flower but fewer of each kind. Thanks for the tour.
All my sowing are still so tiny, they should be in the ground already... but no slug damage here yet! Have a lot of things to do, but I'm a bit tired to be honest.
Thank you for giving us a great tour. I have gained lots of ideas for flowers to grow in my garden next year. I m hoping to avoid the mice and rats that ate my tulup bulbs last year. I am thinking of growing them in pots in my cold frames - putting them out during the day and getting thm in late afternoon under the protection of the covers. Do you think that would work? Cheers! Happy gardening 🙂
Tulips are great in pots, they do need to be exposed to cold temperatures, but Honestly if you have squirrels, they love tulip bulbs in pots, and my voles were just as active in the day, so if they are intent on eating your bulbs, they probably will 😧, I nearly didn’t bother with Tulips, this year, but eventually I ordered a few. Glad you got some ideas for crops to grow next season, happy growing 🌸
@@stemsbysuzanne thank you. My cold frames are on the decking outside my kitchen/family room so I rarely get wildlife up here, because the room is in constant use and I have dogs. It was when I placed the pots down the garden they got attacked. I wasn't prepared for it as it was the first time it happened in the 13 yers I've lived here. Hopefully my new plan of action will keep my bulbs safe!

Glad you laughed, I wasn’t sure how to word it 😊 now I just watch and wait 🌸

Glad you liked the tour 😊 I will give the asters one last try 🌸
❤❤❤
😊
Feel the same about annual aster . They are alot of work and like you didn't get alot of cuts .not growing at all next year
Yes, I may try them in the tunnel, and see how that goes 🌸
I feel like that with the calendula, I didn't seed that much lol 😅
I didn’t seed any of it, happily self seeded and I am glad it did 🌸

We could make millions if we could make a peat free compost for seed starting, that is easy to use 🌸 glad you are slug free 🤞😊

I sowed my sweet rocket too early and now they are really big. Reckon they'll be hit hard by frost
They are pretty hardy, mine have always managed frost okay 👍 so fingers crossed 🤞
My statice went in the ground in May and barely grew! No idea why. Its still there, but never sprouted any stems.
Well that is disappointing, hopefully you will have better luck next season 🌸
Why don't you like verbascum for bouquets please
The vaselife is super short! A shame, because they are so beautiful.
I love the look, but it’s not got a great vase life for my retail customers, so I tend to just put the odd stem in my larger bouquets 🌸
