@@Marc_Araujo Yeah, we rented that one and found out the hard way you can't beat it with 2 players. Then found out years later the game needs the player to be near autistic to even have a chance. Great first level. The rest of the game was dog excrement. lol
One of reasons I loved this soundtrack is that it employs the "heroes in a half shell" riff in a good majority of the stage themes, and in such creative ways. Turtles in time was my favorite game, but the music in manhattan project was the best from all turtle related games.
Probably because of how late it came out. More than a handful of games released late in the NES's life cycle were awesome but never got much pay because by then, everyone was hyped about the SNES.
I think it's safe to say that the TMNT soundtracks just got better and better for the NES. TMNT1 was so good, TMNT2 was even better and thenTMNT3 was just freakin' awesome. One of the rare occasions in which sequels surpass their predecessors. God I love the 90's NES music! Thanks Wiiguy309 for uploading!
They were in the studio just killin it. This soundtrack is so awesome! Like they did it with passion! Would and heart! Those Japanese music composers must of LOVED teenage mutant ninja turtles!
80s-90s were the best year a kid could be born and start playing video games and I know because I born in the 80s . The music of this games and the quallity of the games is nothing you will ever see today ! To find a few good games today it's like finding a 40 years old wine or wiskey ! I wish I still have a NES with all the epic games and play them again and again . The most I like about the NES Era games is the music that is mind blowing !
I agree. Nowadays, the only things they're known for are Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, Pro Evolution Soccer, and YuGiOh. They have so many classic franchises collecting dust. As a Konami fan from the 80s and 90s, it's sad to see.
+AnimaxRules happened that Konami in the sixth gen made hundreds of bad and forgettable games that ruined their finances (much like Capcom) and the seventh gen nailed their coffin with awful third party games and few and terribly bad in house games leaving aside Metal Gear, PES and the first Castlevania LoS (By Mercurysteam). Simple as that
+Horacio Ferreira and let's not forget the actually amazing Bemani series of arcade games. Those are still turning a profit and are extremely addicting. I truly believe this is their last bastion before they get sucked into a blackhole of greed, and ignorance... if Bemani goes then they are dead to me!
Definitely the best turtles game on the NES. I was lucky in a way that I was able to play this game a ton as a kid. Obviously this game came out late in the NES lifespan and most people already moved on to the snes by then. But I was one of the few who didn't have an snes yet and I asked for and received this game for my birthday that year. Super good game that is under appreciated because of when it came out.
This game had wonderful music. I remember the first time I played this game. Me and a friend were 12 years old. It was a Friday going into Saturday type of night and I was staying over there. We smoked weed and then played this game for hours. It's a great soundtrack.
My personal favorite TMNT game with my personal favorite TMNT soundtrack. I always felt this one was underrated being sandwiched between TMNT 2 and Turtles in Time, both ports of popular arcade games. But I love this one
Konami games had the best music man. This game brings back so many memories. I remember getting this as a Christmas present in the mid-90s. I grew up overseas so we didn't get the latest tech and gadgets until way after they came out in the States but I remember getting this and playing with my brother for literal HOURS while our parents watched.
20:15 has been remixed twice. Once for the SNES, and again for one of the GBA games. Really would like to hear a mash-up of all three, or something similar, if anyone's willing to make one, or an S-level remix, if you've got the skills.
Fuck.. yes. This was one of the first games I had ever played, my dad got the copy from his friend along with the NES for my first birthday, and I would often watch my dad play every day, barely managing to get to the Technodrome. Every time I think of this game, i remember this one day where i was so happy to see that he stayed home from work and we played the game and ate pizza. As a child, it was bliss. This soundtrack always resonated in my head, and is my favorite of the 3. Sewer BGM Rocks!
The most radical game I have ever played. I mean, the game just starts off with turtles on freaking Florida and ends in space, kicking Super Shredder's ass. Fuck. Yeah.
Wow, Konami really knew how to work the NES's sound chip and it shows highly with this game. Funny enough this almost sounds like heavy metal converted to 8 bit; lots of 8 bit guitar soloing going on here big time! My favorite just has to be Mechanical Walkin. WHAT A TUNE!
+Sebastian Gonzalez Villarreal Nope they weren't in the game, not even one lol. I always wondered why. Maybe they intended to make one as a boss but couldn't do it. I had a toy Triceraton back in the day, they looked pretty cool. Such a shame. Those were the days when games had deceptive covers.

It's funny how much a simple game title can cause so much trouble :D I might have actually played one of those pirate cartridges that contained TMNT 3...
Amazing game! Incredible soundtrack. Of course, Konami's sound team can craft a soundtrack that stays in your memory for years to come. Surprisingly, there aren't enough covers for these tracks here on UA-cam. This whole soundtrack just begs for a piano cover (or a medley, at least)! How awesome would that be?! If only I had the skill to do it myself... This game was actually hard for me to find on store shelves. Even rentals at blockbuster video were few and far between.
A further really great VGOst, absolutely! But looking at the comments I just gotta ask, how can vintage gamers be so ignorant to other people and their proceeding social environment in terms of video games? Clearly, the most people grow up and grow out of video games, creating a lack of interest to new games which one isn't as much as attached to as to nostalgic games. It's the effect of nostalgia from childhood which people usually only feel as child in this way, it's mostly not due to the games itself even if also many old games already are well-made and well created. Through my childhood I had been a big fan of Nintendo. The Mario Partys created a great memory, my first Nintendo Game (Mario Kart: Double Dash!!) was such an amazing and new experience (coming from a PC games background at that time when we still had the good old LEGO games for PC like LEGO Racers 1/2 and LEGO Island 1/2/extreme stunts), Super Mario Sunshine, Sports games and many other games (I even own an original of Kao the Kangoroo 2 from a local store)! There are many great games made after the 90s and still today even when I agree that many franchises failed their tries for spiritual successors. (But I think it's also legit to say that game series better leave on a high note than stopping it because of less good games at the end due to the demands of earlier games that are difficult to even improve and while old staff is replaced by new one - and although there are very few series which manage to keep the niveau like the new Donkey Kong Country games -.) Anyways, I mean, I only grew up playing console games after the 90s since I've been born slightly prior to the start of the 21st century. But thanks to the virtual console on new Nintendo consoles, even I have the possibilites the taste the greatness of some really good old classics (Paper Mario (N64) for example which I was much more amazed about eventually than I ever thought I would be), at least if they are offered to be bought. And I agree, it's remarkable that many games from the past have a great game soundtrack. But I want to say, it makes new games not worse in experience and especially not necessarily having a worse soundtrack/music (quality) thinking of my gamecube experience and very first Wii experience. (Although my Wii U experience - which likely will be my last - has far better succeeded in fullfilling nice expectations/imagination of a successor than the Wii console could ever achieve after the Gamecube.) And it's really a pity: the people are ignoring or not noticing it due to lack of interest to the topic or scepticism but I can tell for myself: the step from N64 to GCN in terms of game experience/visuals feels like the step from Wii to Wii U in contrary to the step from GCN to Wii. And the Wii U gets far too few respect for that achievement. In my point of view, the Wii U failed mainly due to marketing and advertisement (which I never ever noticed here in Europe since Nintendo is ignored anyways and gets no respect from Western RPG and generic shooter gamers), while I find the criticism towards Wii U from self-called gamers absolutely not appropriate and presumptuous since in my view Game experience/mechanics/ideas >> realistic graphics (i.e. if the game is shit or the content is dump, no graphics will help it) and nowadays, there is still really much work/effort put into a Nintendo game for example. Enough said, new games aren't bad just because one wasn't born into the those and their new graphical standard. That's my point.
What a friggin incredible childhood we all had
I'm saying. We grew alongside technologies peak. Part 2's came out of nowhere and showed us what's to come
Very, very underrated game in this series and a very, very underrated soundtrack.
Best turtles game ever.
They certainly hit best on the third game ;D

Turtles in Time was my fav, but this game ranks an extremely close 2nd.
I liked TMNT3: Battle Nexus for the GBA. It's probably number 2 on my list.
Best NES Game ever !!!
I grew up beating this game over and over with my brothers. Nothing but good times.
