New 8BitStereo revamped version I'd recommend listening to! (Improved quality with less echo/reverb, updated text, and visual background): ua-cam.com/video/5JVPm4RMSkY/v-deo.html
Nice... btw, ask permission to use this audio for fusion with The Batman trailer, this: ua-cam.com/video/y3UgFLxZfOo/v-deo.html *Credits in description*
DrJuice1 IMO It's a case of people doing something great because they "know" nobody is watching. I doubt people had much appreciation for video game music until at least the SNES era
I loved NES music before the SNES era. This game came out when the first movie was released, and I remember renting it from a local Blockbuster when I was 10. The music has stuck with me since. Along with tons more NES music. I appreciated its music, only because before that, I had Atari, which had no music. It only beeped. 😂 Im 40 now, and still enjoy these soundtracks.
Same here! I had only Atari and this was one of the first NES games I played. When listened its music I felt in love. And Batman was one of the first movies I watched in my life. So, I must like its game
+vidura Cause the the composers were writing for short stages. They have no other choice but to pack a punch in a short amount of time. It's really crazy when you're given limitations, you're creativity really comes out.
+Robert Albrecht - this is not the reason. Did you ever tried to analize modern Hollywood movies? How much stupid things there, logic flaws, cheap characters and so on. The similar reason is with the music. It made by bad educated people these days.
@@mr.awesome6011 Or maybe he's right and you think that name-calling and chiding him in a condescending manner for praising something from a bygone era will put you in the right. It won't.
It is but there are few who rivals. but batman have more song hits in the album handsdown. in my opinion, these soundtracks come close,. Super Spy Hunter, Ninja Gaiden 2.,, Supermario 3, the other batman with joker, and the Japanese Castlevania 3( that has more audio channels)
yeah i remember first song when i was kid i have this game ony my conslole so big nostalgia how much times i lesent this song when i start the game in the front of my tv it was something awsome when i was kid
Streets of Gotham used to play in my head when I wasn't even playing the game. After years passed I forgot where I heard this music from and it drove me crazy. Thanks for the memories.
Listening to the opening for the first time was one of the most intense NES tunes ever. It just gave you that feeling that what was behind the start button was an insanely intense game.
If you think this sounds great? Check the download link version, more condensed sound with reverb and the sound channels, but still clear and crisp in a pseudo-stereo! ;D
It is incredible how good the music of this game is , I mean all the games I played or soundtracks I have been listening to are so good . The long gone years of 8Bit music and epic games :( :( ... I have never heard in my life such good music on a game like in the games from NES , it shows how much interest and effort producers puted in this games so that the players will have a EPIC product .
+Warffles I'll look into it. There's seriously just something about this OST though. It's not just NES music..there's something truly special about it.
I just want to commend you on how excellent and handy these ost posts are. I do vgm covers and have utilized your wide array of posts and links on multiple occasions. Thank you for this very solid and reliable resource.
***** Hi wiiguy, i dont know if u have the chance to play this game, since soccer is no big deal in america(im assuming thats where you are from) but i believe the Captain Tsubasa series (especially the first one) deserves your attention, and i hope your work aswell :3 heres a sample watch?v=h_C5UTWUXXk&list=PL06672DAF503CEEB9 thanks
one of the few companies that actually put effort into a game over music. Which means they KNEW you'd die multiple times, but still find the music appealing.
How does this not have more views? It's the absolute best video game music ever made. (I'm not a fan of batman or super heroes in general. This game was good, but the music is mind blowing.)
I remember going to the mall and was in Electronics Boutique and saw this demo and every kid watched in sheer awe. there was nothing like this in '89 to that point.
***** What annoys me the most that I remember while playing this back in I think 1990s was those jumping wolverine type enemies on the toxic sewer stage. I hate them so much I almost threw my famicom controller to the TV out of frustration...hehe
I literally grew up with this game (both from '89.) Love it. I still have my original cart but I was lucky enough to pick up a CIB copy as well a few weeks ago. One of the few games I liked seeing the Game Over screen. That music is too good.
Let me commend you on a spectacular job in properly separating and making AMAZING stereophonic versions of these excellent soundtracks! Batman HAS to be my favorite 8-bit soundtrack of all time! Thank you for all your long suffering and hard work! Well done!
One of my all-time favorite NES titles AND soundtracks. Probably the only truly great movie license game ever. This game was simple in its gameplay and design, but it was quality from start to finish. No WTF moments, and not hard for the sake of being hard. This game and Blaster Master made me love SunSoft's stuff.
Easily in my top 5 for NES soundtracks....there's not even 1 bad track on this thing! Godamn it brings back those memories playing this classic back in the summers on school break! Thanks for the upload! (and those 6 thumbs downs....no clue what u guys were thinking)
Indeed there is not 1 bad track, but nearly 100 other NES soundtracks have that, it would be impossible to claim which NES soundtracks are the best, but probably when 8BS comes to it's end, I can make that list since I would have listened to nearly every NES soundtrack made. And you're welcome for the upload, always glad to please :)
Very true....I actually should re-word it and say Batman is in my FAVOURITE top 5 NES tracks, considering i've only listened to less then 50% of the NES library. Not even close to the crazy amount of tracks you've heard, haha! Keep up the great work :D
There you go, that's a better choice of words. But yeah that is the great thing 8BS allows me to do, yet it gives me a brain explosion for just how many good soundtracks there are to put in a top list, but I'm sure I can do when I do! Thank you once again for your comment! :)
This was one game I never played growing up, but as a collector of NES/SNES now I'll grab two copies just because of the soundtrack! The great movies back then MADE these games and the GAMES took them to a whole new level none of us could have imagined before that! Just look at Darkman... Batman...The Wizard...True Lies (a great SNES game if I remember).. All Addams Family/Fester Quest...Friday 13th.. Nightmare Elm Street (terrible game I know.. but the movies were classic!)
Best times ever, I really apretiate the time you took to upload most of nes songs, it really brings the nostalgia back in times when I was a Nes gamer.
You're welcome! If you'd like, consider getting the new download link I've put, I have taken the time to update all soundtracks of current (and future) download links to have less "reverby" version of the videos here, it's still clear and crisp and has that echo/reverb, but isn't as prevalent, which I think makes it the best versions yet.
I always wondered why all .NSF files of the first stage theme, as well as pretty much all other recordings, sounded "wrong" whenever I heard it -- especially one second after 2:24 and 3:23. There wasn't something wrong with my brain or hearing, it was because it wasn't in stereo. Simple, yet brilliant. No longer do I have to listen to a monotone. Thanks for posting this and the awesome Batman: Return of the Joker OST! If you ever happen to encounter an NSF file that sounds correct, let me know.
Agree with you man. I played this game before 15 years BUT ... sometime I just start the game (yes I have my NES xD) just for the Game Over song. I will remember this song forever xD
No other game music had the unique elegance that the NES had. It’s distinct tones are identifiable immediately. In my opinion, they are by far the best in retro gaming. never ceases to amaze me how much imagination some of the 8- and 16-bit composers had.
DrJuice1 IMO It's a case of people doing something great because they "know" nobody is watching. I doubt people had much appreciation for video game music until at least the SNES era
iirc, this composer teaches music theory at a university now.

yep such art and talent working with what you had the restrictions these game soundtracks got no love
That Stage 1 track could be the theme song for Batman, across all genres. It's that damn good.
Why can't game music these days pack so much emotion as this! This is pure art.
+vidura Cause the the composers were writing for short stages. They have no other choice but to pack a punch in a short amount of time. It's really crazy when you're given limitations, you're creativity really comes out.

it was a different time back then, games were more than just mere entertainment, they were spirit quests.
Because they do and you're just acting like a boomer

This is Hardcore bitches¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
That's right bitch!
Stage 1 is one of the best game tunes of all time.
Agree, so awesome
Stage 3 is great asw!
This NES mesic DESERVES over a half million hits!
7:35 Stage 4: Laboratory Ruins! Shit got real!
Sunsoft always had bitchin tunes in their games
The more I listen to this the more I think it just might be the best NES soundtrack of all time. No flaws.

The intro to this game always tricked me into thinking it locked up.

I can still hear the sound of Batman's epic punches against this music. Dear God, those were the days. Epicness lay in 8-bit !!!
Listening to the opening for the first time was one of the most intense NES tunes ever. It just gave you that feeling that what was behind the start button was an insanely intense game.
This is way better in stereo. Axis Chemical Factory has been stuck in my head ever since playing it for the first time!
If you think this sounds great? Check the download link version, more condensed sound with reverb and the sound channels, but still clear and crisp in a pseudo-stereo! ;D
Downloaded it. I can hear so much more detail!
I used to time my attacks to the music in the Axis level...
Yeah, I'm a geek :p

Been gaming for 30 years, and I agree.
They're not gone dude, just go play NES
Stage 4: Laboratory Ruins!!! awesome!!
Stage 1 just has the most awesome freaking song. I love all the remixes and covers of it out there. Just has a great melody.
Sunsoft had there shit down, quality throughout!
Stage 1 music epic
Agreed is the best of all the midi songs
+Alone Wolf Still my favorite track and my favorite game from all batman series
+RuGaLxD yes me to
+Alone Wolf BGM of stage one best of all the midi song ever can't agree anymore !!!
The epicness is strong with this one
I'm dancing with the devil in a pale moonlight.
I want that game over theme played at my funeral.
One of the best NES games ever and some of the best NES music (possibly THE best NES music) ever...
Need I say more?
It's my favorite NES soundtrack of all time.
:)
***** It's certainly one of the best. I'll have to think if I can pick a favorite out of all the NES games myself...
Cool.
I never own that game.
Have you played it, though? If not, you probably could in an emulator.
Laboratory Ruins is still after 20+ years kicks serious ass...If I was a Pro Wrestler, I'll use that theme for my entrance music =)
I can't believe how good this music is lol...
This is so far my absolute favorite of any NES music.
Scott Vogler Ever played Journey to Silius? Personally that title has my favorite NES soundtrack of all time.

at the end, when I was able to finish each time the game, I played only for the musics ... just great. GREAT.
If everybody played NES games for the music, much more NES soundtracks would be well known :P
***** what? you can play nes games for something else?
***** Hi wiiguy, i dont know if u have the chance to play this game, since soccer is no big deal in america(im assuming thats where you are from) but i believe the Captain Tsubasa series (especially the first one) deserves your attention, and i hope your work aswell :3

Very true, NES music was actually a replayability factor! When does that happen nowadays?
My heart goes wild... EPIC 'till thrill ! Am I the only one who voluntarily lost out to hear the game over theme?
Best Batman Game Ever.
For sure
Badass soundtrack of a badass game!!!
That very first track, the title screen music, that pause....the amount of times I reset my NES thinking the game had crashed! lol
So, I wasn't the only one that thought this, lol.
strifey07 Lol same. I have an old copy, and kept thinking the intro music was the game crashing, so I was constantly resetting it, lol.
Andres Ulloa lol!! Dude, I freaked out

"Got to give the Batman punishment"
" I'm Batman "
+rodrigo mendonca "Boring as shit. Next Game"
"I'm batmaaan*
Oh Look at that! Chainsaw to the dick!

Batman Forever! It sucked back then, and it sucks forever!
IM BATMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

that game over song is sick man.

11:16 is just...wow. Just might be the best VGM of all time!
Those drums tho!!!!
Probably some of the best DPCM drums on the NES.
This game was so hard but so satisfying when you finally beat Joker.
***** What annoys me the most that I remember while playing this back in I think 1990s was those jumping wolverine type enemies on the toxic sewer stage. I hate them so much I almost threw my famicom controller to the TV out of frustration...hehe
I was only 11-12 years old when I completed this game. Yes It was a hard game.
Being hard isn't a bad thing as long as the game is good.
An art form at it's finest! Nostalgia, my favourite drug ?! Thank you for creating this and sharing it with World !!!
Wow, james rolfe was right. The dark knight did get better treatment than Superman when it came to video games. This music rocks
What an absolute MASTERPIECE.
👍
thanks man !!!
you are the best

The percussion line in this soundtrack is top notch
DUDE EPIC!

This game... Memories... Omfg...
No hay nada mejor que terminar de ver la película de Batman y escuchar este soundtrack clásico 😺
Best Batman game ever
Yes
While I suck horribly at this game, I freaking love this soundtrack. Sunsoft's games had incredible music!
I was able to beat the game, but never was able to played some of the music on a keyboard :/
thanks for uploading this! epic soundtrack.
Of course, you're welcome ;3
My favorite is Game Over at 11:16
Dude !! These are just amazing. Well.done....well done !

+WiiGuy's 8BitStereo did you make these sounds?
+Guts Berserker do you not read??? look at the screen
it's from batman on the NES. and it even says who the composer is!
Mike Werley o my bad. Then why are we saying "well done" for uploading someone else creative content?
Guts Berserker well that guy is clearly confused.
1:25, one of the greatest sounds of my childhood. ^^
this sounds like glory

This honestly has like some of the best pixel art in any game, its up with like super metroid in NES era.
It was a late release

Gotta love stage 2.
best 8 bit music ever
1:25
SUNSOFT really made a lot of amazing NES game around 1990s when I was still a kid, I was sitting on the front of TV from day to night.
Best times ever, I really apretiate the time you took to upload most of nes songs, it really brings the nostalgia back in times when I was a Nes gamer.
thank you very much for all of your efforts, you're making my evening!
Amazing job, dude, i really like how it sounds in Stereo, thank you for uploading this awesome music, Streets of Gotham rules!
Hey Wiiguy, THANK YOU for giving out DL links for this stuff. I had this blasting in the car today, certainly kept the journey fun! :D

Thanks dude. Especially for this game and the Ninja Gaidens. I'm gonna blow the dust out my cartridges now and play.
Listening while I work, makes my day so much better, thank you!!
I love the game that I got 2 days ago and I love the music just like the movie I love so much.
I've beaten it 200 times and I'm really starting to become Batman.
***** you vish
Kurt Gembolis its no joke.
Kurt Gembolis I hate people who doubt me.

Grande jogo. Até hoje eu me lembro dos anos 80 a noite eu jogando essa maravilha que só fui zerar 20 anos depois
Jogo muito difícil mas muito bem feito! Poderiam fazer um Remake!

9:55 Epic track!
Tthose basslines are just sick! I really want to hear them with an actual instrument. That would be awesome!
One of the best 8 bit soundtracks ever!
i love all these videos you posted...subbed!
At the 2:04 mark begins an amazing melody. I get mad shivers listening to it. Plus I have played the game when I was a child.
This soundtrack is absolutely amazing
That comment is comming from someone who still is in love with 8bit games and music
Streets of Desolation. Fuck yeah!
Playing the new batman while playing this= awesome mode lol
o_0 I never thought about it! I have to try it!
1:25 and the run begins. ... perfect
Stage 4 & Game Over = best ever.
not many people put effort into Game Over music. This one has a very meaningful, and powerful theme to fit the "now, try harder"
The beginning of Stage 4 sounds like Castlevania for whatever reason. :P
Agree with you man. I played this game before 15 years BUT ... sometime I just start the game (yes I have my NES xD) just for the Game Over song. I will remember this song forever xD
Brutallize
I think Prologue is actually pretty damn good too.
HornedDemoN mhm
