- Actor Mandy Patinkin joins "CBS This Morning" to talk about the final episode of Showtime's "Homeland," one of television's most popular dramas. The series is ending its nearly decadelong run on Sunday. Patinkin has starred alongside Claire Danes as Saul Berenson, a CIA agent turned national security officer, since the show's first season.
Saul Berenson is one of my all time favourite characters. Going to miss him and Carrie.

Well you should see the first 2 seasons of Criminal Minds, when Mandy played as an FBI Agent. He was brilliant there and brilliant in Homeland as well.

If there's a better voice of humility than Mandy, I don't know who that might be. Bravo on ten years of Homeland. I was a big fan when he was known as a great Broadway singer.

And he was the one who wasn't mentioned. Common he was in 5 seasons out of 8. And oops they made Carrie a lead hero for sociopaths. Even Saul had the line he would never cross. Who would have thought

I recall Mandy drawing attention to the disaster of refugees drowning in the sea, a while back. That made a huge impression on me. He is a good man with lots of empathy
Mandy describing the last scene with Clair, from when they locked eyes made me cry ffs especially because I've just finished watching the last episode 10minutes ago:))) Brilliant actors and series, also lovely people... Thank you for an amazing show!

Just saw the last episode and this last season was spectacular! My favorite all time show right up there with the Sopranos.

He is a brilliant actor. Where ever he acts he gives a special depth to his role. I am going to miss the show and both of these amazing actors.

I’ve been a huge fan of Homeland since episode one and have enjoyed seeing the characters develop over the years. At times it’s been almost like watching a documentary type drama, the storylines mirroring current events that have made me step back & question how much of it was based on actual events. Big thumbs up to everyone involved in the series and for creating one of (if not the best) dramas of its kind. The last few minutes of the final episode were worth the wait. All good things come to an end I guess, I was hoping Homeland wasn’t to be one of those.

To me the ending was off. I don't find it believable at all that a woman with her profile would not be under the loop by Russian intelligence at all times and is able to collect intelligence. If they would be able to understand that a person such as the translator is in their midst then it would only take seconds to start looking at Carrie when there is suspicion.

Max could've live..he was the only other character that was still on since the beginning.
I thought the final season was excellent. They did a great job. It’s so satisfying because a lot of times final seasons go horribly wrong. This one was top notch all the way through. What an amazing show.
They left a little something that leaves a door open they could reopen in future.

this show just shakes you to your core! :'( the interactions between characters and dialogues are just incredible! sad to see this end, it will be hard so many things to click again but i know it cant go on forever, better end when you are at a definite top! thank you and good job!

I thought the finale was excellent. Mandy is an incredible actor and an even better singer. Can't wait to see what is next for him.

Mandy Patinkin looks very much better without the beard and moustache. Don't you all think so? Also now he has a very much better with a hair cut too. Thanks so much for having Homeland for 8 years and knowing the awesome casts who did a great performances. Thanks also to the writers who wrote wonderful and mind blowing stories for the show. Homeland the show, will be greatly missed. It's also one of my favourite shows. I've never missed one episode since it started from Season 1 in 2011 n got hooked after that. Thank you all once again.

Fantastic will miss homeland
Excellent and unforgettable. If to compare, but if the writers of Game of Thrones had imagined an end like the one of Homeland, GOT would be a perfect series. I think the end of Homeland is the deepest analytical ending I've ever seen in a series, that final chapter is a monument to friendship and loyalty. It really is unique.

Mandy left a deep impression as far as I felt as to his pretrial of S.B. there seemed to be the weight of the experience of such a character and a certain resignation to what was, what is and not plotting 🤔
It was a good wrap up. Made sense.
Why end something this beautifull?

Can someone explain to me what Carrie and the Russian guy meant by "the Israeli counterintelligence knows the Russian spy is dead" ?
Was also wondering this! Was it just to move the scene along or was there any related or important meaning?
I think Saul realized that Carrie could only go after his sister, and activated some Mossad contacts in the area to check.
Saul was free and called the isreals to tell them carrie was at his sisters house and to arrest her so they ran
