@@ToroMontana I don't think I can remember a series as long as this ending as well at it has. I was worried this had too much to wrap up at the end but it did everything justice.
Agree. I watched before my husband and he kept trying to get me to tell him detail as we watched together and I wouldn't. I wonder if there will be a spin-off. That would be so cool. 😀👍

I'm really going to miss this show. Between the acting, the writing, and the direction it was absolutely riveting television. It left me panting for more.
A great companion, what a spot on description. Shows came and went over the years but I never stopped watching homeland, never missed an episode, never stopped enjoying it. I will miss it! I was already missing this show during the final credits. Perfect, satisfying ending. After each season finale I couldn't wait for the next season... So sad to know it's over. It will be one of my favorite shows as long as I live.

But he already was dead before ... He was just a shadow of his former life. I hated it, that he died but it was ok for me and i think the best for his charakter. Max is more intense. This was just ... why?! He did nothing. He just worked with cables and laptops. Why kill him ... noooo ... But at all: Both charakters where very good side charakters. I loved them both really.
Homeland was my favorite TV series ever. I have watched every episode 2-3 times. Loved the final episode of the series too; it was perfect; couldn't have been done any better! Claire, Mandy, all of the other actors, directors...wow, they're the best of the best, in the industry. I waited year after year for the 12 episodes of each season. Gave me something to eagerly look forward in my otherwise boring life. Learned so much about the truly great work our intelligence agency does, to keep us and our world safe. We cannot thank them enough.
I'm currently watching Homeland on Hulu and it's one of the most binge watchable shows I've seen. You can't stop with just one episode cause the storyline is continuous from one episode into the next
If it absolutely has to be between Quinn and Max, I'd go with Max. Quinn chose to be in a line of work where death is very much part of the job, and a death wish sentiment was present in his letter for Carrie. Not Max. He was just helping his friends. By the time of death, Quinn already sees no point in continuing his extremely painful existence. He settled the vengeance for Astrid, and volunteered to rescue the president from his own old unit. He was very much still capable of defending and protecting, and I think he knew that was the end. Not Max. No matter how tough the overall journey was, Quinn's career sacrifices and heroic actions were at least partly acknowledged by the president, and widely reported by media. People knew he was a hero in the end. Not Max. Just like Carrie said, he was taken for granted by essentially everyone. No one official even attempted a rescue. Max is the definition of collateral damage, which goes to the core of this show's tragic appeal.
Don't forget that peter Quin was welling to leave the job, told carrrie many time to stop and he was planing to run away with her. He hated his life but kept getting back (mostly) just for carrie demands. both Peter and Max were too damaged by their personal life and their feelings. what push (keep) them to work near the death are the fact that they were sensitive (what an ironical! ). loved both characters they were real and strong in different ways. but to be honest, I didn't thought that Max will die in such a way always thought that Max will be the last one of the gang to tell the story or maybe writing a book about it he was with them from the beginning watching, helping in silence. he was a perfect person to tell a story by his own perspective cuz if you notice we almost never heard Max's point-view of anything before. I'm writing this after I've watched the finale and i'm NOT satisfied at all this is not a conclusion it's a beginning!! that can't be something to finish with, IT IS UNACCEPTABLE. specially "stay tuned" !!!!! Also many things they start the season with but they totally leave it unclear like, what happen between carrie and Yavgeny in Russia ?? what about her memory ? we still don't know
You expressed that really well. As sad as I was when Quinn died, I was devastated when Max died. During his whole ordeal, I kept thinking, "Carrie will find a way to get him out of there... she *has* to!" When Haqqani aimed the gun at him, time slowed down for me. I thought, "No! They're just toying with us!" Then the shot. Then Carrie gets there, and I'm like, "Ok, he's must be hanging on and they'll nurse him back to health." But when Carrie realized he was dead... oh, man. That was just too much. 😭
This is the best show I've ever watched. I just can't accept this will be the last season and last episode... However, there's some hope because both of them hinted at possible continuation of the show, albeit maybe with different actors - I'm hoping they continue with Saul in the 70s and 80s when he was operating in East Germany. That would be a really good continuation of the series, if nothing else.
It was a brilliant, amazing show and I can't prescribe how much I am going to miss it. Claire was impeccable and Mandy never ceases to amaze me. Looking forward to their eventual new shows.Thank you for this amazing show and thank you for your masterly performance.
I'm from Germany and my Girlfriend and me watched last weekend the last episode of Homeland (in german). It's such a great show. I love every second of it. Great acting, great personalities, great script. Best final season you can get on a show like this. I hope by god, that there will be a film or a mini-sequel about Carry doing russian spy things and her daughter works at CIA with Saul as her master and they work together and bring worldpeace. I think that the real world will bring on enough ideas what Carry and Saul can handle as spys. Just love it and I'm really sad, that it's over.
I binged watched this series and would do it again. At times it seems so realistic that it might correlate with what is going on in the world today. Great work writers and perfect cast for this series. Bravo Zulu!
I just saw the epic ending of this series. Heart still pounding a bit. Very nice twist at the ending. But... I will miss Saul Berenson dearly. His inner strenght, his determination, but most of all that gritty deep penetrating voice and that wonderful patriarchal beard. Saul Berenson. What a man.
One of the things I liked about Homeland was that it gave voice to the concerns of other nations. It didn't focus solely on US issues and treat other countries as whiny anti-Americans with no legitimate grievances.
That is why it bothers me when people say Yevgeny is a bad guy or the villain. He is a spy like Carrie, but we excuse the things she does and judge him because he's Russian.
Rewatched all seasons again recently, and something I kept noticing - those proud looks Saul gives Carrie were so natural, you can tell Mandy and Claire care a lot about each other. Those looks were so natural.

Claire's answer of "conclusive-ish" and Mandy's of "beginning-ish" though are polar opposite, is however on point. It says the show is either truly the end OR a new chapter/phase has begun. Well said as it leaves the door open for a possible 9th season (I believe based on we the people's response).
The show have set a benchmark that no other show in history of TV drama have matched so far. They were better than current, they were predictive; real to smallest unpleasant details; with no purely good or bad characters much like in real life where good people making disgusting decisions and terrible people some good ones, which doesn't change the nature of either on a big scale. Finishing it has deprived viewers all over the world of the most perfect, intelligent, real, top quality drama that opens the eyes to those who want to know what's happening behind the scenes
One of those endings that stay with you for some time. The majority of the show, my response was “what the fuck is this how it’s going to end”? And then it ended. And somehow it all just made sense, and I honestly don’t think it could end any better. “Conclusive-ish” and “beginning-ish” is indeed the perfect way to describe the ending. What a fantastic show. I can’t believe there won’t be anymore episodes to look forward to. Maybe it’s time to start from episode 1 all over again.
I liked that show a lot too. I remember watching it as a 14 yo on ABC with my mom. I was disappointed it was only one season. I remember MTV picked it up not long after and re-played the first season, and added a lot of hype to it.
Gosh, the talent is unbelievable that these two posses. My husband and I have watched all 8 seasons over the last 4-5 weeks of the quarantine. I hated that they killed off max and Quinn and Brody though...
Brody's death feels so long ago (I watched the seasons on Showtime as they came out). That moment where Carrie has no choice but to walk away as he's hanging... ughhh... that just destroyed me!
just watched the end yesterday after a long pause before s08. i was kind of sad. like you lost a good friend. but the ending was how it should be. so satisfying :) good job was made by all of them, either in front or behind the camera.
Don`t care what anybody says but we`ll miss it. Claire and Mandy have given this show the best they could give. Loved every minute. Years from now it`ll be repeated as `Cheers`` is now and we still love Cheers` - I still laugh at Woody Sam Cliff Norm Carla Miss Al Dianne Frasier Coach etc etc etc etc
I absolutely LOVE how much Mandy and Claire care about one another even if they're just "acting" like the do (I dont think so) . Somehow, it makes the fact that the series is ending, just a little bit easier to take. I really hope they work together again...what a Great team!!! Awe Crap...I'm really sad 😢
After watching the finale, they ended it perfectly. No spoilers, but this is exactly how shows should wrap up.

And somehow it all just made sense, and I honestly don’t think it could end any better. “Conclusive-ish” and “beginning-ish” is indeed the perfect way to describe the ending.
What a fantastic show. I can’t believe there won’t be anymore episodes to look forward to. Maybe it’s time to start from episode 1 all over again.
thank you for having them on! i was really waiting for you to have them on your show!!! love Homeland!
My So-Called Life is still one of the finest shows about what it’s like to be high school age ever made. Just sayin’. Love Claire Daines :)
Yes! I fell in love with her then. So wonderful to see her success. So well deserved.
😍!guilty
Favorite episides was the one where they have to write short pieces for the temp english teacher.
I liked that show a lot too. I remember watching it as a 14 yo on ABC with my mom. I was disappointed it was only one season. I remember MTV picked it up not long after and re-played the first season, and added a lot of hype to it.
High school in the 90's. All that grunge music, dyed red hair, and plaid flannel... Memories.
Homeland was all I want... Perfect serie... I love this Show.
I adore them. I can't believe it's over !!
They're both such great people. I can't wait to see what they do next!
Yes, the walk is very distinctive, always makes me giggle :)
beggining-ish indeed.
love Homeland so much! huge fan from 🇵🇭
it's that series that keeps you hooked, looking forward to every sequence
Thank you Mandy🙏 Respect from Afghanistan
I love Claire and Mandy so much!
Going to miss them so much...
It is a very funny walk of Saul though :D his kids confirmed my thoughts! :D
omg the anecdote about the son commentating on the walk. hilarious!
The best ending I have ever seen to an amazing run
just watched the end yesterday after a long pause before s08. i was kind of sad. like you lost a good friend. but the ending was how it should be. so satisfying :) good job was made by all of them, either in front or behind the camera.
Thanks for the great show Homeland, love from The Netherlands!
