Just showing Smash players who've likely never played a Persona game before the origins of most of Joker's moves.
PS: The Grappling Hook does not make an appearance in Persona 5 (Besides a transition scene in the Menus) as far as I'm aware, and seems to be a completely new accessory given to Joker for Persona 5 Royal; an updated version of Persona 5 with more content. It fits the whole thief thing, if you ask me.

Joker's ability to walk is a reference to Persona 5 where the characters have the ability to walk

Honestly you can tell Sakurai really put his heart and thoughts into Joker. And honestly the victory screen is the near exactly alike
The only non existent difference (aside from the art style) i can see is the smash Joker is standing up slightly higher. Its barely seeable. I had to reeeaaaaalllllllyyyyyyy look close to see it.
(Edit: okay, upon even closer inspection, its just the model is just closer to the camera in general--)

Probably was also playing on Merciless (where if a weakness was triggered, it does massive damage)
He has level 99, probably high stats, passive that boost curses, and in merciless. You can search builds for Arsène, Yoshitaune, Satanael, Maria... Where there are traits and pasives that makes them OP

When he does not have Arsene Summomed, it looks more like he's using a Curse damage Item instead of Eiha, because of the finger snap that he does when he uses an Item in battle.

His grappling hook is now revealed to be in the upcoming Persona 5 The Royal!
Agate he always had the grappling hook in the original game for the PS4 in the game’s loading screens as a transition the assumption that smash gave him the grappling hook is incorrect.

Exactly this. It definitely reminds me of the opening cutscene where he rips off his mask to summon Arsene.
Y'know, Joker having prologue Arsene here makes sense. Canon Arsene here has Brave Blade, which is Colossal Physical damage.

I think the Rebellion Gauge is a reference to the Phan-Site bar from the loading screens in the game. It especially looks like it when it bursts during the final show down.
The Rebellion gauge shows the gathering of Sp (part of the in-game fight bars. After joker has gathered all sp He summons arsene and then his bar turns blue representing is hp like.(If you didnt know most physical and gun persona skills costs hp) but smash just made it a time limit and made all magic physical and gun attacks hp bar wise.

Speaking of things only smash players see, does futaba ever say "time for an all out attack"? I feel like that line is exclusive to smash. When playing p5 the closest thing I've ever gotten was "all out attack"

TBH, this guy knows quite a bit more than some others I've seen covering Jokers Smash moveset. There haven't been many on YT who realised Gun special is Down Shot. Not many videos exist anyway

Rebel's Guard in Smash Bros. Ultimate is a reference to how Joker and the Phantom Thieves are rebels in Persona 5. Now, if you look closely at the footage, you can see Joker has the ability to guard. While being a rebel. And that's where they got their inspiration.
Rebels Guard is the point before joker awakens arsene for the first time. The rebellion gauge does not exist in Persona 5, but is rather the point that led up to joker accepting his rebellion and awakening Arsene when Ryuji was in trouble.
Eiha's animation in Smash may be a reference to when Joker uses an item in Persona 5.
I'm pretty sure Rebel's guard is a reference to the [spoiler] fight when Joker is left at 1 hp without getting knocked out near the end of the game
I hope they'll keep persona outfits in Persona 6 just minus they mask since that summons the persona.

Rebel's guard is more likely the reference to awakening persona and summoning afterwards as most of the Phantom Thieves awakening had moments where a blue aura knocked back their opponent when their life was in danger or their way of thought was being challenged to the brink.

I'd say his gunshot animation is more based off of his downshot techique aswell as the team up gun attacks. And His rebel's guard also looks more like his persona change animation.
I'm made that this joker looks more detailed then p5 original joker but it makes sense since that's from the ps3 era

Genuine question since I'm new to the P5 and havent even finished 5: WHEN does that special gun thing happen?? Can you only do this with the reaper? I'm so confused because my thought was "oh he has no special action in the original for guns" and then you showed this! I have a good confidant rank with Iwai from the gun shop and buy some stuff there from time to time, but that's it - and it looked sooo epic.
