no one can say they've heard DMB, unless they've seen them live, in a concert setting. that's what they are. records are just a means to get onstage and really play. having seen DMB 59 times, every single show was different. the free form jams are incredible and something jazz fans would be amazed by. chops for days! congrats DMB...well deserved!
I agree, I've seen them about 47 times in the past 24 years...since 2000. At this point I've been a fan for a little more than half my life. No setlist is ever the same, that's why I keep going and will continue to. Well done fellas, so much deserved cause they really are a phenomenon. RIP LeRoi and miss ya BT! ❤️🙏🏻

There's another 'member' of the band who has been there since day one creating the best lighting and video in live performances as probably the best in the business; Fenton Williams. He deserves the accolades too, but that's not how the Rock Hall works, sadly. Congratulations DMB.

Seeing DMB at Alpine Valley at 17 years old. Took shrooms for the first time hahaha. 2 nights of drugs, drinking and friends. Sloppy mornings and sloppier nights. A sea of kids from the Chicago suburbs. Memories I will never forget. Thank you Dave!

I’m a big Dave Matthews Band fan. Brilliant songwriting and musicianship…but it’s difficult to go to a “show” because the fans are viscously obnoxious. Lots of competition about how many “shows” they’ve been to, and which shows were “ridiculous” or “amazing” or “random”…and then we transition to a conversation about backpacking in Europe and how cool it is to “hop a train” to the next “show.” Yes, ridiculous, amazing, and random…indeed.
I can just see that conversation now. “rashawn, we know you’ve been touring with us since 2007, but we need you to take a pass on the HoF. Sorry bud. You understand though. Buddy, this is the easy one, you’ve only been with us for 6 years, need you to watch from the sidelines on this one. You understand.” I mean, this is exactly how Dave has run this band. To a “T” lol
