Love the fusion of Babylonian, Byzantine and Egyptian architecture. All the greenery gives off a real hanging gardens of Babylon vibe, the pillars and design of the buildings make it seem like the city of world’s desire at it height and of course the sandstone, obelisks and statues of Anubis show that Egyptian aspect.

This would be such a beautiful place if Babylon was made exactly like this, and I like how you added the Hanging Gardens of Babylon to this as a nice touch!
Instead, architects always build the same, boring modern block buildings. It would be cool if there were architects like Timtenth who would build epic living buildings like the ones in the video. I really sometimes wonder why we as a society have in many cases stopped building representative buildings like a few centuries ago. Ok, we still build representative buildings, but they have a very clean look and little heat.
@@Eurograph Don't blame architects, blame tasteless billionaires/governments paying for it and creating the specifications. Everything now is about utility and cost-effectiveness, no money for 'wasteful' ornamentation. Some architectural masterpieces took several centuries to build even when they had the tools to build it faster and cheaper, especially the Gothic ones. Most great buildings of the past were religious or driven by a sense of high civic duty. None of that exists anymore.
@@davidb5205 They also used forced labor...AKA slaves...so it's pretty good it doesn't exist anymore, and religion ruins everything. Does way more harm than good. How much art and beautiful things have been destroyed because it doesn't fit into the fictional book someone worships
@@davidb5205 I agree with you that I cannot condemn all architects. But there are architects who are happy to support, even fuel, the trend towards modernity, and these can be denounced. I also agree with you that the picture is much more detailed than I have presented it. There are various actors involved in the construction of buildings. This ranges, as you said, from billionaires to city councils who are only after "the main thing is cheap and fast". The points you mentioned such as utility, cost efficiency, redundancy or time are also very important factors. It is also important to mention that crafts such as stuccoing, stonemasonry or thatching are dying professions. And those craftsmen who still exist can, of course, set their own prices for their craft due to the lack of competition. Whereas I think that certain ornaments can certainly be produced industrially, as for example in the area of cast iron. And sandstones could be chiselled into shape by industrial robots. Of course, the disadvantage here is that individuality is also somewhat lost. Because where every stone used to look different, now all stones look the same. I would disagree with you on the point that there are no more social ambitions, such as religious ones or the "feeling of high civic responsibility". We have extremely strong competition between states, social systems and business enterprises. Buildings like the Burj Khalifa, the Three Gorges Dam, the Apple headquarters in Cupertino or the "May Day" stadium do not only have a utilitarian purpose, but, like the Cologne Cathedral, the Tower Bridge or the Pyramids of Giza, are supposed to represent the country and the people behind the buildings. The difference is that splendour is understood differently in our time: clear lines, sobriety, minimalism, tall large spaces, lots of glass and translucency.
Calling this art is a massive understatement. All Minecraft builds can qualify as art. This… this is something else entirely. It’s something language currently can’t explain… Phenomenal work as usual!
You can tell the amount of thought put into this build sheerly based on the fact that you have actual Babylonian aspects of architecture scattered throughout the build.
Hard disagree there. When you call a build "Babylon", it shouldn't just have small (and they are small) scatterings of the actual place. The build has more Egypt, Greece, Rome, Mesoamerica, medieval Europe and islamic architecture (the mosque) than it does Babylonia. It's an unbelievable, amazing work of art in its own right and I applaud the creator for his skill and dedication, but not for the representation of Babylonian architecture.
@@Caroscribbles I dont think you understand what I meant. I was speaking of the details itself. Of course the framing doesn't accurately represent that of actual babylonian buildings since it's a fantasy build.
I was losing my mind when you started mass producing all the tiny intricate city buildings near the end. Sometimes I think it's harder to make the multitude of tiny houses because of the variation you have to put in to each house. It must have been hard work, but it paid off! Amazing results!

All the greenery gives off a real hanging gardens of Babylon vibe, the pillars and design of the buildings make it seem like the city of world’s desire at it height and of course the sandstone, obelisks and statues of Anubis show that Egyptian aspect.
There's a lot of Islamic/Arabic architecture too. Reminds me of Baghdad
@@i_likemen5614 it IS baghdad 😂
Do you know the Babylon is the oldest civilization in the world?
Do you knows thats not true
The sumurians are the oldest
You deserve so much more for all your builds. They're all pieces of art and the mine raft community may be happy to have such a good builder as you.
Wow just WoW, the amount of time and effort put into this build must have been unreal.
I salute you all for this amazing project, keep up the good work.
I look forward to seeing what the future holds for this team.
Now I'll just go back to my 10 year old ongoing project and silently sob as my efforts pale in comparison.
I love how you blended architecture from so many different regions and time periods. It creates such a unique and fantastical atmosphere.
Right at first I was like "Higia Sophia wasn't in Babylon" but then I realized he did an amalgamation of Mediterranean architectural styles.
@@justine4353 Higia Sophia has about 4000 years of difference with Babylon... That's 2 times the time difference between us and Jesus . What i am getting at is that he shouldn't have included Higia Sophia , because is hardly "ancient" and more like medieval
@@Dan_Kanerva And those minarets - the towers of religion that didn't even exist back then.

If I experienced this in real life, I couldn’t fathom the overwhelming emotions I would have. I wouldn’t look at humanity the same anymore. This is pure talent. The detail is INCREDIBLE! This is Simcity on steroids, and out of this world.
What almost impresses me the most is that you immediately know what you want a building to look like and always end up with an amazing structure. I spend most of the time staring at my build considering what to add next and would never even come close to completing such a massive project. Incredible job!

Certainement l'une des plus belles et incroyable construction Minecraft !!! À couper le souffle... 👏👏👏
This would be such a beautiful place if Babylon was made exactly like this, and I like how you added the Hanging Gardens of Babylon to this as a nice touch!
Thank you very much!
It was made like this but war has ruined it
I'm just doubting, the first build looks like a mosquee, which has nothing to do here..
@@inhocsignovinces1327 are you talking about the build around 2:30 in? Because I believe that is a throne room.
@@lelouchvibritannia4235 2:12, it really looke like one, I'm maybe wrong..
Imagine if our architects today had the creativity and support to allow the world around us to look so inviting.
Imagine if Dubai was actually a beautiful city with some babylon style. It could be so good but they failed so hard
I dont even play minecraft but watched the whole thing and enjoyed every single second of it. Thanks for sharing it and gratz for the amazing work.

You deserve a Guinness world record for sure. And THATS AN UNDERSTATEMENT! INCREDIBLE, I FEEL LIKE IM WATCHING HISTORY UNFOLD!
Calling this art is a massive understatement. All Minecraft builds can qualify as art.
This… this is something else entirely. It’s something language currently can’t explain…
Phenomenal work as usual!
The amount of dedication and patience put into this is mind boggling. Just like what others said, game company should hire you!

This is just too fascinating, you must not do it alone, my favorite part is that each house has its own style, the details are truly awesome. ✨

The creativity of some of these Minecraftians is mind blowing! This is actually beautiful!!
This masterpiece is too precious to be expressed in one 20-minute video.
Reminds me of this one anecdote I recall reading in the Histories of Herodotus… supposedly, when Babylon was captured by the Persians the city was so large that there were reportedly portions of the population who were not aware until 3 days after the fact!
Herodotus is always a blast to read.
