My mother passed away on 24 .8.20. Due to the pandemic, and shielding I could not be with her at the end to comfort her. To be played at my mother's funeral. I sang it as a child whilst she played the piano.
The worst part of reading this on youtube is that the only way to respond in solidarity is to give a thumbs up or a like. I don't like what you wrote. I don't give it a thumbs up. I want to give you a hug and tell you I'm sorry. But I feel compassion for such a terrible outcome for you. A tear shed for you.

People like Yo-yo Ma and what they offer to the world are a testament to the beauty in Creation and God's gift of music. "Bach gave us God's word. Mozart gave us God's laughter. Beethoven gave us God's fire. God gave us Music that we might pray without words." This is such simple music by both Bach and Gounod, but so incredible nonetheless. We're so lucky to live in a world where we can listen to music like this with a few simple clicks of a little desktop device.

You Yo MA was the only international musicien who let me this so deep impression during a masterclass: never agressiv, resuming kindly to the pupil what he had say, never "arrogant ou blessant", always carefully about his pupil, never "making the show", always true and so so so intelligent!!! He talks to the heart directly! Wonderfull person!

Yo Yo's sound is just so amazing. My wife wonders what I'm doing on the internet at night: Falling asleep being relaxed by Yo Yo Ma! Over and over and over again. There might be some Hauser, Roy & Rosemary, 2Cellos and The Piano Guys in there as well. However Yo Yo makes it all look so smooth and easy. There is a short street in downtown Toronto by the harbour front named after him.
Yes he is great but not at the level of Hauser from Bach to Vivaldi to Mozart to hendel ,to bethoven to Joaquin Rodrigo to hauser passion all of them brought it not just to play because it is edicts of what should be ,I myself being from Europe studyed music very young notation is very important to apply to all aspects of instruments but yo yo ma no bad but à century later you have Nostrus Rex .

It catches my heart with cello's first note, while that last beautiful note lingers in the air for a long long time.
The hidden mathematical genius of Bach's keyboard Prelude in C Major coupled with Gounod,'s emotional Ave Maria played so powerfully by Yo Yo Ma is a fantastic confluence of true genius. Rises to one of the best UA-cam has to offer, and IMO well worth the modest monthly subscription fee to listen commercial free.
I return to this Ave Maria many times during the week - I cannot explain how this piece of music goes straight to the heart. Oh my!! Thank you many times over.

PERFORMANCES like this don't get the recognition they deserve. When I was a child, the biggest show on TV regularly featured classical performances. Ed Sullivan created stars in the classical world like Maria Callas. Has this performance been broadcast on the Ed Sullivan Show in, say, 1957, these two artists would have rocketed to national recognition - yes, even Asian-American YoYo. What do we have of that impact - no disrespect, UA-cam - today?

You can't really describe in words just how beautiful this is. The way the Ave Maria is woven in with the famous Bach Prelude in C is sheer magic.

Ave maria which ever way its played is just phenomenal. If you want it in soprano you need sumi jo but played just musicaly this is brilliant 👏 👌

What a grand performance of you two! At times, I could not tell which was the piano and which was the cello. Excellent accompanist and outstanding soloist!!
Played with such textures I never could imagine! This duo moved me. Yo Yo Ma made that cello otherworldly.
I love watching them play together.
