You Yo MA was the only international musicien who let me this so deep impression during a masterclass: never agressiv, resuming kindly to the pupil what he had say, never "arrogant ou blessant", always carefully about his pupil, never "making the show", always true and so so so intelligent!!! My mother passed away on 24 .8.20. Due to the pandemic, and shielding I could not be with her at the end to comfort her. To be played at my mother's funeral. I sang it as a child whilst she played the piano.

It so cleanses the soul that you feel refresh and tranquil. You simply cannot resist the awe that music brings to you. I listened to it at least eight times in a row. It catches my heart with cello's first note, while that last beautiful note lingers in the air for a long long time.
People like Yo-yo Ma and what they offer to the world are a testament to the beauty in Creation and God's gift of music. "Bach gave us God's word. Mozart gave us God's laughter. Beethoven gave us God's fire. God gave us Music that we might pray without words." This is such simple music by both Bach and Gounod, but so incredible nonetheless. We're so lucky to live in a world where we can listen to music like this with a few simple clicks of a little desktop device.

Yo Yo's sound is just so amazing. My wife wonders what I'm doing on the internet at night: Falling asleep being relaxed by Yo Yo Ma! Over and over and over again. There might be some Hauser, Roy & Rosemary, 2Cellos and The Piano Guys in there as well. However Yo Yo makes it all look so smooth and easy. There is a short street in downtown Toronto by the harbour front named after him.

I wept. Years and years of electronic sounds put in today’s music still doesn’t pull out my emotions like this does. One brilliant accompanying piano, and a man with a cello. Out of the countless years of our worlds existence and the small amount of time I’ve spent here, I’m glad these two; at that moment and all of their time spent in their lives learning their craft lead to here, playing Ave Maria together.

I return to this Ave Maria many times during the week - I cannot explain how this piece of music goes straight to the heart. Oh my!! Thank you many times over.
I heard and saw this wonderful man as an 18 y/o genius in Tacoma, WA. He so inspired me I went to buy the Unaccompanied Sonatas of Bach, J.S. I began to approaching the pieces while in University studies. That was in 1969 or 1970, at the Temple Theatre with the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra. Wonderful motivation for me, a young musician-just like Yo Yo! I spent 21 years as a High School Band Director. It was my purpose to have my young musicians play their instruments with the characteristic sounds each should produce. It was a most inspirational accomplishment, for them, and their director.

Yo Yo Ma is one of the my favorite player. I want to send this Ave Maria music for my friend who lived in Germany. She passed away my birthday's in July, we were very good friends over 50 years. She could not see her any family who lived in Japan when she die. However, her nice boyfriend took care of her well. I wish she could see her all family over the Ave Maria's world.

Yo Yo Ma came to my elementary school in Boulder Colorado to do a concert and I got to shake his hand. Even then in the 3rd grade, I knew I was shaking hands with an important person to humanity. Felt this same feeling when I met Jane Goodall at CU later on in my childhood.
This performance is the embodiment of art. The tenor, always being in the shadow of the melody, is finally given his gloomy spotlight. The soprano serenades her companion in harmony. This is the classical equivalent of the modern romance duet.

PERFORMANCES like this don't get the recognition they deserve. When I was a child, the biggest show on TV regularly featured classical performances. Ed Sullivan created stars in the classical world like Maria Callas. Has this performance been broadcast on the Ed Sullivan Show in, say, 1957, these two artists would have rocketed to national recognition - yes, even Asian-American YoYo. What do we have of that impact - no disrespect, UA-cam - today?

Ave maria which ever way its played is just phenomenal. If you want it in soprano you need sumi jo but played just musicaly this is brilliant 👏 👌

Gounod gave us a tune, by itself of enormous beauty, to be played over Bach's prelude, of gigantic beauty. The result is a miracle of harmony.

I return to this Ave Maria many times during the week - I cannot explain how this piece of music goes straight to the heart. Oh my!! Thank you many times over.
I heard and saw this wonderful man as an 18 y/o genius in Tacoma, WA. He so inspired me I went to buy the Unaccompanied Sonatas of Bach, J.S. I began to approaching the pieces while in University studies. That was in 1969 or 1970, at the Temple Theatre with the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra. Wonderful motivation for me, a young musician-just like Yo Yo! I spent 21 years as a High School Band Director. It was my purpose to have my young musicians play their instruments with the characteristic sounds each should produce. It was a most inspirational accomplishment, for them, and their director.

Yo Yo Ma is one of the my favorite player.
I want to send this Ave Maria music for my friend who lived in Germany. She passed away my birthday's in July, we were very good friends over 50 years. She could not see her any family who lived in Japan when she die. However, her nice boyfriend took care of her well.
I wish she could see her all family over the Ave Maria's world.
When feeling like being alone, something leads me to appreciate this work.
A few minutes of peace during these trying times...thank you!

Yo Yo Ma came to my elementary school in Boulder Colorado to do a concert and I got to shake his hand. Even then in the 3rd grade, I knew I was shaking hands with an important person to humanity. Felt this same feeling when I met Jane Goodall at CU later on in my childhood.

This performance is the embodiment of art. The tenor, always being in the shadow of the melody, is finally given his gloomy spotlight. The soprano serenades her companion in harmony. This is the classical equivalent of the modern romance duet.

Yo-Yo Ma definitely has the recognition he should have.
PERFORMANCES like this don't get the recognition they deserve. When I was a child, the biggest show on TV regularly featured classical performances. Ed Sullivan created stars in the classical world like Maria Callas. Has this performance been broadcast on the Ed Sullivan Show in, say, 1957, these two artists would have rocketed to national recognition - yes, even Asian-American YoYo. What do we have of that impact - no disrespect, UA-cam - today?
