I laughed out loud at the clip of Gian carlos esposito pronouncing his name immediately after Dan said it. Still dealing with that I see 😂
I think Dan should put that clip every time he says "Esposito", just not to have to explain the pronunciation all the times 😅
However, as an Italian myself, I understand why "Esposito" is confusing for many people abroad: most of the times, longer words in italian are stressed on the main vowel of their second to last syllable, which in "Esposito" would be on the "i". On the other hand, there are a small percentage of long words, that are stressed on the main vowel of their third to last syllable (as in "Esposito") and an even smaller percentage that are stressed on their fourth to last syllable

The Wicked release should come with double feature showings. Watch part 1, brief intermission & then part 2 plays. Like an actual theater production. They won’t be able to play as many showings but they’ll make more money per ticket. I wouldn’t be surprised if some theaters tried that. Especially drive ins

@@DoctorXanderi missed Dune 1 when it was in theatres, so I saw it for the first time at home, so I was so happy when my theatre showed part 1 in the lead up to part 2 releasing. They even showed a little clip from dune 2 at the end. It was so worth it.

Del Toro doing Frankenstein will be awesome. It is one of his favorite movies of all time and he wants to make it as faithful to the novel as he can which nobody in Hollywood has come close to doing correctly.

So many good-looking movies to look forward to. Mickey 17 is probably the one I'm looking forward to the most.

@@closeben Not a good sign, especially considering it's original release date was the Dumping Ground of January.
Half the movies listed here are tied to universes that are either dead, dying, and/or on fire and some corporate exec is just profusely trying to put it out with thier jacket saying "its still good!" as they hold up the charred smoking bits; the rest are filled with old people on thier way out paired with new and upcoming actors to give the franchise legs and legacy; honestly the only thing I'm looking forward to is Black Mirror, Invincible Zootopia 2 and that Michael documentary
@@johnnolan5579I had some friends who saw it in January of 2024 at a test screening and they loved it. It was baffling because they said the VFX and sound were perfect, so I’m not sure why they’re jockeying it around like this.
Superman is not surprisingly my most anticipated movie of the year. A lot of great stuff on the release schedule, but the TBD section was especially packed with intriguing projects. Wildwood and Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein are the two projects that weren't on my radar than I'm currently most looking forward to after watching this.
Been wanting to say this for a long time but now it's official, we are in the year of Superman 🙏

Havoc is the first Netflix movie that I'm genuinely excited to see. Tom Hardy is my favorite actor and Gareth Evans directed The Raid which is one of the greatest action movies ever made. I NEED THIS MOVIE!

Daredevil and Superman are what I’m looking most forward to
My top ten most anticipated movies. Surprised how many I had to take off the list. These won't be my favs of the year, but I think I'm driven by 1. directors 2. nostalgia 3. good trailers
1. Avatar Fire and Ash (Way of water was amazing in theaters and its fun to watch these be super successful)
2. The Running Man (love Edgar Wright)
3. 28 Years Later (amazing trailer and also Boyle/Garland team up)
4. Superman (amazing trailer and Gunn is consistent)
5. MI Final Reckoning (Dead Reckoning was awesome in IMAX)
6. Mickey 17 (Bong Joon Ho hasn't missed)
7. PTA Movie (self-explanatory)
8. I Know What You Did Last Summer (Loved these movies in high school)
9. A Minecraft Movie (Interested to see another Jared Hess movie after long hiatus)
10. Anaconda (loved the original and I've always been disappointed that the sequels were basically all direct to video)

23:45 Hey Dan, huge fan of yours. As an Indonesian myself, I would like to correct your pronunciation on Timo Tjahjanto's name, particularly his last name. The "Tjahjanto" is actually pronounced as "Chah-yan-toh" as he used the old 20th century Indonesian spelling in his last name. So basically in the old spelling, "Tj" was pronounced as "C", the "J" in the middle of his last name was pronounced as "Y", so yeah it's really not that complicated. You can see his old interviews on how he pronounced his last name. It's okay Dan, it's your first time saying his name, I hope with this, you can pronounced his last name correctly next time as you did with Giancarlo Esposito's name lol. I can't wait to see our greatest Indonesian director working today to take over the Nobody sequel 🤗

I went to the theater and it seemed like all of the trailers for the live action remakes so it's very nice to see a more comprehensive list of movies to get excited for (I know the trailers chosen to play in front of movies are curated for certain audiences seeing the film for anyone wanting to comment)
Mickey17 is by far my most anticipated and I also can’t wait for the new Superman movie. 2025 is going to be exciting!

He deserves all the love he's getting lately and will get more of soon. What a great actor. His speech on the boat in Dial of Destiny genuinely had me in tears
My most anticipated films this year are
1. Mickey 17. (New Bong Joon Ho film? I will be seated)
2. Wake Up Dead Man (Loved the last two Knives Out Films, so I'll be there for this one)
3. Sinners (Ryan Coogler making an original horror film? Yes please)
4. The Running Man (Remake? Sure. But Edgar Wright's directing so I'll be there)
5. 28 Years Later (Watched Days for the first time in October and I loved it. The trailer for this was good so I'm sold)
6. Mission Impossible Final Reckoning (I've enjoyed the Mission Impossible films, so I'll go to this one.)
7. Superman (May not be a DC person, but the trailer got me interested)
8. Jurassic World Rebirth. (I'm mainly interested in this for who's directing, Gareth Edward. So I'll keep an eye on this one)
Honorable Mention: Thunderbolts* (If it ends up good, I'll catch it on Disney+), Havoc, Wildwood.

21:45 - I haven't seen the Peacemaker Season 2 teaser before. I like seeing Frank Grillo in there, since he's Rick Flagg, Sr. in "Creature Commandos," so it's a perfect addition to the show that takes up where Rick Flagg, Jr. was killed.

Hi Dan, when Venom 3 finally leaves theaters, can you please compare the Venom trilogy box office to other superhero trilogies (both Spider-man, Iron Man, Thor, Cap America, GotG, Ant Man, both X-Men, etc). Of course unadjusted and adjusted.

Knowing that Chris Sanders is just returning to voice Stitch without being involved in any creative capacity such as writing, directing etc, I wonder what's it like for him to voice Stitch in a movie of a same story from a script that was written by someone else. Imagine screwing up this live action remake right in front of the guy who started everything 😅
About a third of the way in I decided there’s too much going on. We need to chill out. This looks like it was a lot of work to put together! Thanks Dan!
