Very sweet way to end the video. We love you Dan! You're thanking us but we also thank you for being one of, if not the best at what you do. It's nothing short of selfless that you were able to put out all this content for us in 2024 despite what life threw your way. Happy to be and continue to be a Channel Member to show my support. You're the man brother. Looking forward to the first video of 2025!
Love that shoutout to The Screenies! Real OG’s are still waiting for that Screen Junkies T-shirt. Really cool having followed Dan since about 2013 and seeing how far he’s come as a major voice in the space, while still doing very much his own thing.
This is why i love your channel Dan, videos like this and championing smaller movies that other channels dont give them time. Your opinions are unbiased and highlight movies that are worth seeing in all genres which may otherwise not have been viewed. Happy New Year and all the best for 2025.
Always been a fan of your content ever since your time at screen junkies. I was so excited when you started this channel. Thank you for all that you do. Happy new year! Cheers to a fresh start and good things to come in 2025 😀
Great to see Nicholas Hoult getting better in recent years. I've been knowing this guy's talent since he was a boy in "About A Boy" and I'm sorry that I haven't been able to finish his series, "Skins" which I desperately needed to finish that before Superman comes out. Anyway, great guy, great actor, great year and so happy for him, I can't wait to see him crush as Lex Luthor in the new Superman movie

Sorry it’s been such a challenging year. I can tell you your channel has been a bright spot for me and so many others this year! Thanks for your great content
Thank you Dan for putting out videos that are both consistently entertaining and informative. You’re by far my favorite critic and your channel is the only one I have notifications on for. I’m always excited to hear your takes, you could post a video talking about anything and I’d watch. Keep doing what you do, man.

I can't imagine being a movie and TV fan without your voice out there to help us discover great titles and give a useful perspective on the things we're seeing. I'm glad you came out okay in 2024, and I really hope you thrive in 2025.
I get why Wild Robot is praised so much, I personally think it's quite overrated but I do get it. What really saddens me is that not a single word had been said about Flow. It deserves so much more exposure!
Dan, One of my most enjoyed past times is sharing things I enjoy with others, but I am very selective about which things I choose to share. Ever since you launched your own channel and any time it was appropriate I have recommended your channel as my favorite for movie reviews and news. I know I'm just one voice in the crowd, but I hope there are enough of us out here that our collective admiration is felt by you. I'm not in a financial place to support the channel, but I'm so happy to see all the comments from people who can and choose to do so. I wish good things for you and I will continue to look forward to your videos. Happy New Year.

Also really enjoyed Problemista, Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World, I Saw the TV Glow, and The Beast.
Thank you Dan! Been watching since Screen Junkies and this was another awesome year to follow you through again. Hope 2025 is a better year for you but I look forward to all the videos you make going into 2025!
@@jamesg8175whether it hits for you or not (comedies are subjective), it is an absolute labour of love and remarkable accomplishment for such a tiny production.
There was no question in me and so many others coming back to your channel Dan. The box office breakdowns, the rants, the news coverage, and the palpable passion for movies is impossible to ignore. The news earlier on in the year was very sad to hear, and I think I've noticed that you don't pat your heart anymore to sign off on videos. I just hope that, even if that tradition doesn't come back because it was linked to an earlier phase of your life, I hope that this phase becomes something in the rearview that the bitter memories fade from, leaving the more pleasurable ones to stay.
Thank you Dan for another year of excellent movie commentary, review and analysis. I was a huge UA-cam "movie talk" watcher, I watched all the channels in the early 2010s, but gradually over the years, dropped off of all of them, except you. I love the numbers, the charts, your opinions and yes the broccoli stories. I appreciate all you do and hope that you have a wonderful, prosperous 2025. and Happy Birthday I know its coming up soon.
Much love Dan! My love of movies and openness to see movies I would never consider has only grown the last few years, and it's partially thanks to you. As someone who also had a very rough 2024, may this new year be full of blessings, opportunities, and excitement. All the best!
Back-to-back awards for movies starring #Smallville's Bart Allen/Impulse Kyle Gallner. To quote another version of that character, "that's so crash". Not so crash on the other hand? You have two films in your bottom five of 2024 that are in my top 10 of 2024.
You’re the man Dan! 24 was a very tough year for me as well- your videos are something that I always look forward to! Keep em coming, cheers to a great. 2025 🥂
Been watching since you first left Screen Junkies, and thank you for putting out such quality and thoughtful reviews in as wide a landscape as youtube where that's definitely not always a guarantee. Happy to continue being a loyal viewer into 2025!
You know what's sad when I see these Best/Worst lists? A vast majority of audiences won't know about every good film but will know EVERY SINGLE ONE of the bad ones. I hope more good films in 2025 are seen by more people 🙏🏼
Thank you Dan!! We love the kindness and genuine passion you bring along with your research. Been following the journey for a decade now. Here is my list! Top 10 Films of 2024 1. I Saw The TV Glow 2. Challengers 3. Megalopolis 4. The Substance 5. A Real Pain 6. Memoir of a Snail 7. Kneecap 8. Anora 9. Dìdi 10. Evil Does Not Exist Shoutout to Babygirl. That’s my #11. Such expressive directing and wonderful performances. To next year and all that it will bring!!
Ghostlight is my movie of the year. I found it from your best movies of the year so far video earlier this summer. Such a special piece of art. I love it. Thanks Dan
I don't really comment on videos but you're literally the only UA-camr I look forward to watching every Monday to get updates on the box office since I work in Hollywood as an agent . Have a wonderful new year❤️❤️
Best for me 1. Dune Part 2 10/10 2. Wicked 10/10 3. Anora 10/10 4. Inside Out 2 9.5/10 5. Nosferatu 9/10 6. Hit Man 9/10 7. Babygirl 9/10 8. Deadpool&Wolverine 8.5/10 9. Saturday Night 8.5/10 10. Furiosa 8.5/10
I managed to watch my two favourites of the year in the last week: Anora and MadS. The latter was somewhat enhanced by the sound of fireworks outside on NYE. There is still more I want to catch up on, including The Substance, Longlegs and Nosferatu. Least favourite was Madame Web, even more than Kraven (which I would have ignored if not for scoring free tix).
Thank you so much for another excellent year of thoughtful, informative, and entertaining videos Dan! May 2025 be brighter on the personal front and I know it will be another great year here on the channel.
Thank you for another year of great content! I’ve been a fan since I saw you on Movie Fights 10 years ago, and I am so happy to see your channel continue to grow! One of the highlights of my 30th birthday this year was a cameo from you! I wish you all the best for a great 2025!
Sometimes there’s a movie that comes out that feels like it was made specifically for you and that’s how I felt about The Substance. I love it so so much. Coralie Fargeat cemented herself as one of my favorite working directors and I can’t wait to see what she does next.
My top 10 Dune 2 Furiosa Challengers My Old Ass Strange Darling Deadpool and Wolverine Abigail Late night with the Devil Anora The Substance Honorable mentions : blink twice, long legs and inside out 2
Absolutely 100% agree with your #1 pick for Best of 2024. I was in awe from beginning to end (especially the end, holy shit) and when it was over and the credits started I stood up, pointed at the screen and said "YES!" That was truly an experience I'll never forget.
Your videos have accompanied me all this strange year for me. Thank you very much for all your work, Dan. Hope you have a great 2025. Greetings from Peru!
Hope a 'new' new year for you Dan. I've been watching you & Roth from early covid days & clearly haven't stopped listening to your movie and industry comments and reflections since. Be well my friend and looking forward to 'checking in' in 2025.
There are still a bunch of 2024 movies I haven't seen yet, but here's my current top 15: 1. Perfect Days 2. I Saw the TV Glow 3. Nosferatu 4. Dune: Part Two 5. The Old Oak 6. A Complete Unknown 7. The Wild Robot 8. Anora 9. Wicked 10. Tuesday 11. Challengers 12. Dìdi 13. Conclave 14. The Remarkable Life of Ibelin 15. Flow
Best: 5. Conclave 4. Anatomy Of A Fall 3. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl 2. Dune Part 2 1. Thelma Worst: 3. Jackdaw 2. The Critic 1. K*ll [I don't want to get flagged]
Brilliant analysis Dan! Thanks for giving us nice moments in this insane year, hope you are doing well as it's not been easy we know. Looking forward to another year of great material from you!
We Love you Dan. You are the best at what you do. I will share my top 10 of 2024. i dont get to watch all the main movies and in fact still need to watch 37 movies that got released this year. 1.Civil War 2.Deadpool & Wolverine 3.Rebel Ridge 4.Alien Romulus 5. Mononoke the movie:The Phantom in the Rain 6.Love Lies Bleeding 7.Monkey Man 8.Nosferatu 9.Bettlejuice Bettlejuice 10.Lisa Frankenstein
Hope you're doing well Dan. If I'm gonna listen to someone talk about movies it's gonna be Mr Sunday Movies, Screen Junkies, Cosmonaut, Hivemind, Reboot it, Pretty Much It, or DAN MF MURRELL.
Always exciting to see your top picks for the year. I still have a lot to catch up on, including Nosferatu, Wicked, September 5, and Hundreds of Beavers. So far Furiosa in my favorite of the year and will likely remain so, and my other favorites in some order are My Old Ass, Rebel Ridge, and Dune Part 2.
With what you went through this year, and even regardless of all that, you still continue to be one of the best there is in this UA-cam movie space. Congratulations and happy new year!
It's been another great movie year with you Dan! I know it's been tough for you. It's been tough for me too but you have kept me company in so many times I can't even count. I'll always support you and I'm looking forward to 2025
Greqt, varied list, as usual! Threw me for a loop with the #1 best; Roth would be proud. I love The Substance, though I feel like best horror of 2024 goes to Oddity. I love how much props you give the movie. You gave me so many others to check out, too. Was surprised you didn't put Inside Out 2 on the top 10.
I agree with the #1 choice. I mean I saw the trailer for it before Cuckoo and was drawn in after researching the director. French director just know how to direct insane horror. Titane, raw both bangers. The substance just adds to this and Also was very surprised with Anora, incredible character story. I think my Top 5 are: 1. The Substance 2. Dune 2 3. The Apprentice 4. Anora 5. Challengers
I feel a lot of people are overlooking Last Stop In Yuma County. It's a '23 film but it's eligible for '24 nomination, at least for SAG, which is the committee I'm on. That film needs more love & it's the kind of small film with an original script that should get more recognition. Jim Cummings is very underrated. I'm glad you mentioned Strange Darling. That movie deserves to be seen with an audience. Even the third act awkward supporting actors had a sort of kitschiness that worked with a late night audience. People lost their minds in the showing I saw. It was one of the best movie going experiences. I want to see more from that director. I don't see anyone talking about Kinds of Kindness. That one hit me in a weird way. Some interesting performances. Flow surprised me with it's simple storytelling. It'll never win against juggernauts like The Wild Robot, Inside Out 2, & The Boy & the Heron, but I hope it at least gets nominated. It's What's Inside was an original high concept low budget movie that had me turn & say this movie's great - I hope they can stick the landing. & they nailed it. Oddly, not eligible for nomination under SAG film. Maybe because it was a streaming only movie? Then it'll be eligible under TV Films. Original films are hard to come by these days & should be celebrated. I found the soundtrack to The Brutalist to be amazing & very effective, but the movie itself was not for me. I'd rather put something like Sing Sing or Babygirl in there. I like Andy Sandberg for his supporting work in Lee, even though I wasn't crazy about the rest of the film. I'd like to nominate The End for worst musical of the year. Didn't get it. Fly Me to the Moon seems like a fake movie they'd go to see in The Fall Guy. Kraven just seems like a real fake movie. Is someone at Sony laundering money? But I had to let him slide when he turned up in Nasferatu & whispered, "It's Kraven time." Okay, I made that last part up. But I can't believe he was in both movies. Wait, The Fall Guy, too? Well, I know who should win best agent. I do hope Hundreds of Beavers gets some sort of recognition. They're such a plucky underdog. Carry On is a generic action thriller, but that second act car accident oner ... chef's kiss to the stunt department. & when are the Academy gonna follow SAG's lead & give stunts their own category? Wicked is probably going to dominate. Anora seems like the kind of underrated movie the Academy will go for some times. It stuck with me & the ending had a nice emotional punch. But I'm really rooting for The Substance & Dune 2. If they snub my boy Denis for best director again this year, I'm gonna be pissed.
Thank you for everything Dan. Even after having spent all year watching and following your recommendations (I managed to squeeze in 100 outings to the movies this year), you still manage to add a few recommendations that I add to my list of movies to watch on this new year's eve. I wish you all the best, take care of yourself.
Ghostlight was something else! Watched it at a festival a few months ago because I heard of it from another video, and wow… the whole theater was sobbing. Thank you for 2024 Dan! ❤

so true LOL
True that
Yes! That was way funnier than wicked
Id give it to the Snow White Actress...she KILLED all hype for the film !
We keep coming back because you're legit, Dan. No BS, just honest love for film and what it's capable of.

That's hard to say!😂

Thank you for all that you do! You’re one of the best to do it!!! 32:49
You’re the man, Dan. Thanks for all your dedicated hard work. The community loves you
Off the top of my head in no particular order, movies I loved this year were: La Chimera, Challengers, Kneecap, Red Rooms, The Substance, The Brutalist, Memoir of a Snail, and Nickel Boys. Also really enjoyed Problemista, Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World, I Saw the TV Glow, and The Beast.
Also Emilia Perez and Love Lies Bleeding.
@ktom5262 didn't see Emilia Perez but yes totally meant to add Love Lies Bleeding
Thank you Dan! Been watching since Screen Junkies and this was another awesome year to follow you through again. Hope 2025 is a better year for you but I look forward to all the videos you make going into 2025!
Happy to see my top three all make appearances in some form here. Twisters, Strange Darling, and Civil War.
Hundreds of Beavers was wild
Complete trash
Happy New Year, Dan! Hope everyone who had a not-too-great 2024 has a better 2025!
🙌 Strange Darling love! One of my favorites of the year!
“Strange Darling” was amazing! Thank you for including it.
Love this channel! Love the reviews, the stats, etc! Thank you for what you do! Happy New Year!
Strange Darling is a really great movie.
Biggest surprise for me was Strange Darling. I had no expectations and was BLOWN AWAY.
Love to see The Substance as your #1. Happy New Year Dan!

PS: I love "Hundred of Beavers"
Dan, I’ve been with you since Screen Junkies. Thank you for all you do. Be well, good sir.
Man do I miss the Screenies and Movie Fights
Also AWIAL and Ghostlight are such goated picks. Really hope more people seek those two out
Willa Fitzgerald should get an Oscar

Absolutely 100% agree with your #1 pick for Best of 2024. I was in awe from beginning to end (especially the end, holy shit) and when it was over and the credits started I stood up, pointed at the screen and said "YES!" That was truly an experience I'll never forget.
Dan, Happy New Year. You and Jeremy Jahns are my favorite to watch and listen to.
Love all of your content, Dan. You are my go to for box office info, no one else is even close. Keep it comin' and happy new year!
Your videos have accompanied me all this strange year for me. Thank you very much for all your work, Dan.
Hope you have a great 2025.

Thanks Dan for the good vibes. I wish you the best now, next year and all years 🎉🎉🎉
With what you went through this year, and even regardless of all that, you still continue to be one of the best there is in this UA-cam movie space. Congratulations and happy new year!
Thank you so much for all the great content Dan! I could listen to you talk about movies forever.
Please bring back the phone line!! 😊
It's been another great movie year with you Dan! I know it's been tough for you. It's been tough for me too but you have kept me company in so many times I can't even count. I'll always support you and I'm looking forward to 2025
Happy New Year Dan!
I think my Top 5 are:
1. The Substance
2. Dune 2
3. The Apprentice
4. Anora
