      bro i just got swooped like 5 times there’s 2 on my front lawn right now i scare them away
      they went down the road like 100 meters i turn my back and the dog swooped me

    Standard defence routine. The parent closest to the nest raises its wings to appear most threatening, while the other fakes a wing injury to lure you away from their eggs. Swooping is mainly only used as a deterrent or last resort.

    This audio you've recorded works well to scare plovers away. I turned it up loud on the speakers and the plovers on the lawn outside took off almost instantly :-)

      I played a plover sound yesterday since there was a pair of plovers on front lawn and their heads perked up and starting screeching like crazy and walking in circles lol, didn't fly away until a dog walker walked by em

      @@JohnGardnerAlhadisI didn’t know Plovers were territorial, I usually see them in groups of 2-3. Once I even saw a group of 4

    It's a prerequisite that there must be at least a minimum of 5 Plover couples on every military base. these maniacs will stand strong against 50 soldiers in full battle kit

    It's screaming is so high pitched its piercing the audio! Plovers are cute, ive managed to befreind two of them at my school, I've gotten I think 15 cm close to a plover, I've always wanted to stroke it's back.

    This was such a great video lmao. I didn't know a bird like this existed until today. Evil, angry, and with giant poison darts on its wing. How does anyone survive to adulthood in Australia, literally everything tries to kill you. Just learned how evil magpies are too.

    I see this plover, obviously a little paranoid (they always look paranoid), he had his full attention on me and nothing else. He slowly walks away from me towards the road, still looking at me mind you. I stop, because there a cars coming full speed and he's still's looking at me while trying to subtley walk away. I sort of ushered some of the cars to slow down... he's still looking at me. He get's to the middle of the road turns his head see's all the cars and freaks out. Friken dumbass.

      Actually they hav e not been protected sinc around 2010 That status was lifted after complaints from the public re the damage they were doing to horticultural crops,

    Masked lapwings are fully protected under the Nature Conservation Act 2002 and Wildlife Regulations 1999. Any interference with the bird, nest or eggs is not permitted. DON'T GO NEAR THE BIRDS U FOOL!
