The biggest issue with an island of giants is that Oda would have to draw tiny Sh characters against building sized people all the time. We have never had regular sized people interact with giants for a prolonged amount of chapters. I suppose the Big Mom flashback could count but they didn't have the giants there all the time. You'd think the SH would have to be yelling all the time for the giants to hear them but that's not the case. It might be that we also get non stop double page spreads to showcase the sheer size of Elbaf. The gigantic tree has to be Adam Wood. Elbaf makes sense to be a country full of war and the tree was said to shelter an entire nation underneath it.

I'm hoping the world tree being so tall gives us more information on sly islands. It'd be really cool to go back up to a sky island again, but idk if Oda wants to have us spend time doing that since things are supposed to be wrapping up to get us to the end of the story.
As a norseman, I can not express how happy I am to finally be going to Elbaf. To me, it's like the Wano hype, but has been around much longer. I hope it's not a short arc, I want it to last as long as possible. I imagine Elbaf (or whatever the island is gonna end up being named) being similar to Wano, split into nine different regions, each inspired by the nine realms of Norse Mythology, with a giant tree in the center of the island, much like how the world is depictured in actual Norse Myth, not the Marvel version where it's seperate dimensions in a cosmic tree, but physical regions surrounding a huge tree. I can even see there being different "tribes" of giants inhabiting each region also being inspired by the various inhabitants of the Nine Realms, Elves, Humans, Jotnar, Dwarves etc. Now, I don't imagine them looking like Elves or Dwarves, but at least having some touches. Oh and, BTW Tekking, Odin is not Loki's father in the actual mythology, that would be Farbauti, so I imagine he would be the King of Elbaf.
I wouldn't be shocked if it's Loki sitting at the docks crying waiting for Lola to come back. Because she's the prettiest woman he's ever seen in his life and he's in love and can't do anything besides sitting wait for his beloved to come home.
Someone made a headcanon that Loki genuinely loves Lola because he sees her kind, caring nature. He sees her heart. Big mom sending Chiffon in her place was like an insult to him because he wants the real Lola, not a twin or copy. Of course, Big Mom being someone the Giants dislike is fuel to the fire.
After watching the opening of this video I really hope the silhouetted figure we saw at the end of the last chapter is Wang Zhi just so we can have Matt constantly switching between screaming Elbaf and Wang Zhi 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Personally, I believe Elbaf is going to be the biggest arc in One Piece. Throughout Luffy's journey, whenever the crew is about to reach a major island, they often make a stop at a smaller one first. For example, Jaya came before Skypiea, Sabaody before Fish-Man Island, Punk Hazard before Dressrosa, and Zou before Wano. Following this pattern, I think Egghead is just a setup arc, leading us into the much larger Elbaf storyline.
Everything indicates that. Apart from Oda's comment that he thought of a way which Luffy could skip Elbaf but ended up not going through with it. If it can be skipped even if it makes the story worse, then maybe not that much will happen there.

There is some part of me feeling a filler arc, or another Oda like carpet pull and Luffy doesn't actually set foot on Elbaf for a while for some yet unseen reason. Like Fishman right after Water 7 when we went through the Florian Triangle and to Sabaody before the timeskip. Oda also said there was a huge war coming soon and a big fight between people.
Imagine If everything non-giant grows huge after passing a sea-portal.. like Alice in Wonderland.. it just does not affect Gaints maybe.. when everything non-giant leaves Elbaf, it returns back to normal..? That would solve the art scaling issue
17:00 precisely! I've always said this before in forums or with my friends. Elbaf is probably going to have a good amount of Void Century stuff goin on than you would think. Not everything obviously. But enough where we'll have a more clear picture on what event(s) were happening. Since Giants ages go for so long, it would still be spoken history to their families. Let alone whatever other libraries they had prior to Oharas. and even on top of that, whatever secret(s) the ruler of Elbaf has about its history.
One thing worth noting. "Loki" might bot be inspired by the norse god Loki, but rather by Utgard-Loki, who is actually a giant and a ruler of a castle.
Wano and Elbaf are pretty close. I like the idea that before the sea level rised thousand years ago there was a massive island that encapsulated both Wano and Elbaf and that’s where giant (and ancient giant) come from
I’d love it if Oda made the Elbaf plot arc the longest running arc of the story if there will be many battles, many character arcs, and significant lore - lore significant to Elbaf and lore significant to the world of _One Piece_ at large.
Watch Luffy go Gear 5th on Elbaf, and you have that one guy that just going crazy, start foaming from his mouth and faints like that guy from Avatar The Last Airbender when Aang went to Kyoshi Island 😂
Here are all my prediction/Theories about Elbaf: I think Franky built _Sunny_ to be retrofitted for Pluton or to fight Pluton. I'm not saying Franky did it with that intention or that Luffy would ever ask him to. But Franky had those blueprints for long enough and Franky is smart enough to have memorized them. He likely built _Sunny_ so that he subconsciously made her super easy to turn into _Pluton_ or fight _Pluton_ if it was essential. If _Sunny_ is damaged retreating from Egghead, I can see him using Elbaf’s Treasure Tree to fix her and that’s when he turns _Sunny_ either into Pluton or the perfect _Pluton_ counter. Because remember, _Sunny_ is already made of a Treasure Tree. When they arrive on Elbaf, the Straw Hats will learn of Kidd's defeat and learn that they are only like a half day behind Shanks. I can see Elbaf divided into 9 counties of districts like Wano was. Each district is named after a different world and each county is connected by a bridge system or super highway called Yggdrasil. I think Usopp will end up leading a brigade or division of Elbaf warriors during the final war, and those soldiers will total 8,000 men. I think Elbaf will be all about Usopp until they learn that info. Uranus is the god of the sky and Elbaf is inspired by Vikings and Norse mythology. I can 100% see a plot point where there is an item or a person named Thor who is then revealed to be Uranus because Thor is the Norse God of the sky and comparative mythology is a thing. With the symbolism of an Adam and an Eve tree(s), I could see the final war _starting_ with the Adam tree falling after an attack by the WG on Elbaf and _ending_ with the Eve tree falling after either the destruction of the Grand Line and/or the exodus of the Fishman to the surface world. I think Elbaf has more information about the Void Century than the humans do. The giant lifespans are triple that of humans. So where it might be 12 generations back for humans, it might only be 3 to 4 for the Giants. Dorry and Brogy’s grandparents or great-grandparents could’ve fought alongside Joy Boy against the World Government. Also, the World Government has no influence over Elbaf so they never got a chance to censor their histories. I think we will also learn that at some point, Alabasta and Elbaf were allies, likely during the Void Century and probably before that.
I know its gonna be norse mythology galore in this arc , oda could have a giant wolf named fenrir or he can have a elbaf giant warrior named fenrir that ate a wolf zoan and is the loyal subordinate of prince loki . Maybe have some Gothic graveyard keeper be naked hel , based on the godess of death , so many possibilities.

Odin does not rule over the giants/Jotunns. He rules over the Aesir, there's also the Vanar gods, and there's Muspelheim, Vanaheim, Nifleheim, Hel, Alvheim (Svart and Ljoss - meaning dark and light), Midgard (that's where we are), Jotunnheim, and Asgard - all being situated on the world tree Yggdrasil
The Aesir live in Asgard, and the Vanar gods live in Vanaheim. Those are typically the "good guys" in norse myth, but you have Nifleheim and Muspelheim which represent realms of cold and fire respectively - typically neutral and chaotic forces. Then there's the Alvheim which is sort of like a realm for fey (more gnomish and elven styled fey for Ljossalvheim, and more overgrown swamp and dark forest styled svartalheim with notably: dwarves). Jotunns live in Jotunnheim and it's sort of this mystery of unknown land and territory with giant mountains and unpassable lands (it mostly represents the mountainous region of northern Norway, and through northern Norway, Sweden, and Finno-russia, but also includes some Icelandic and Faroe elements, such as a sea filled with tiny islands, all too dangerous to live in, as well as sparse regions where nothing grows - yet the Jotunns survive and remain unaffected). Although Jotunns are also related to the Aesir and Vanar, the only groups of people unrelated are the Alvs/fey, dwarves, humans, and the odd mythological creature

I think there is a filler arc or a couple chapters catching up on a couple things like we saw revelry before Egghead. Also Oda did say he might not be able to stop Luffy from going to "that island" after Elbaf, Garp news could stop him possibly?

We know that Luffy has his giant form, Chopper has monster point, Robin can make a giant clone of herself, Franky has General Franky, and Nami *may* be able to make a large illusion of herself. Rayleigh kicks Kizaru to protect the Straw Hats in Sabaody, Rayleigh is said to be 100x stronger. Luffy kicks Kizaru to protect his crew in Egghead, he says his crew is 100x stronger. Kizaru comes to stop Luffy in Sabaody. Luffy comes to stop Kizaru in Egghead. Luffy couldn't save his friends in Sabaody. Kizaru couldn't save his friends in Egghead. An interesting theory is that goes along with the “What if Thor is the villain” stuff would be if Enel ended up being Thor, and that’s why he wanted to go to the moon, cause like Asgard or something. I can’t wait for Elbaf. It’s gonna be a HUGE arc in more ways than one. I could see the various animals on the World Tree be turned into Giants with matching Zoan Devil Fruits. Vedrfolnir could easily be a giant that ate the Tori Tori no mi: Model: Hawk and he could be the captain of Asgard’s royal defense like Pell in Alabasta. I would love Thor to be the villain because what if Enel arrives with his army, Thor squashes it, and gains the power of the Goro Goro no Mi? That would be terrifying. I keep seeing people think that Elbaf is going to be a transition arc like Zou, or a training arc like act 2 of Wano. People, this is THE island we've been waiting for! Sure, Loadstar was the very first end point we were given way back with Crocus, but it's been mentioned maybe five times in the the whole manga. Elbaf, on the other hand, has been hammered again and again non-stop. I don't care if we have to wait 3 more years to reach Loadstar, I just want to really experience this island.

Considering when we saw Kidd get attacked by Shanks's crew on Elbaf we saw a ship with a figurehead of a wolf I think whomever the captain of that ship is will be the OP counterpart to Fenir or the Norse mythical wolf Garm.
As for the tournament: Jinbe would accept because Luffy asked him to (he is the captain after all) Zoro would most likely say yes to prove his strengh even without swords. Ussop would say yes. Franky would find it SUPER manly and join. Sanji would get mad at Zoros comments when he declines so he joins aswell. For Chopper i dont have an in universe reason, but cmon a tournament against giants without Choppers Monster Point? Nah.

Blue sea Elbaf could be bigger than most islands but smaller than you'd think for the home of most giants, with most of the population on the white sea Elbaf & the royal family on white-white sea Elbaf.
Well to be fair, Loki is only a villain later in the mythology. At first he's in good standing mostly with the other gods, he's the trickster god, but mostly he tricksters for their benefit as well as his own. Though that doesn't say that anyone is always happy with the way his tricks work out.
My guess is that elbaf is where criminal underlords' headquarters are and Loki is one of them. I am expecting cross guild to come there to negotiate stuff. Also morgan probably would go there too. I can also imagine a fighting tournament happening there for gambling purposes. Maybe mihawk and zoro will join? And possibly buggy vs usopp for the memes and culture?
i could see odin be a member of the third eye tribe giving him wisdom through the ability to be able to read the road poneglyphs ;) - would be a fun little twist on odin
I've been hoping for a Davey Back fight with the Red Hair Pirates or even Blackbeard because of Kuzan, Garp and maybe even Pudding for Sanji. With all that said, you mentioned a proving ground for the Giants, and I would love if they're the ones who culturally kept the Davey Back fights alive from Joy-Boys era and this is how they'll have a sparing match with the Straw Hats. Long-Ring Long-Land, could easily translate to tall giants being the inverse when the concept is reintroduced in Oda fashion. We also had the Wanton (might be spelling this wrong) who was the Half-Fishman, Half-Giant on Foxies crew so theres already a small connection within the story for it. I'm spitballing and don't expect this to happen but I've been looking forward to an amazing spin on the Davey Back fight for a while now and the potential for it seems endless at this point
You know what I was just thinking would be a hilarious twist for Elbaf? After all this Nordic hype, the giant warrior village is the extent of the Nordic theme while all other "realms" are fairly modernized 🤣

To your point on Thor, arguably, Loki is more connected to Odin in Norse mythology than Thor. Loki and Odin are even called blood brothers at one point. Though he does put Thor in a dress, which is peak younger sibling behaviour, tbh.
The fact that we waited 25 years for this island is a testament to how incredible this journey is.

I imagine Elbaf (or whatever the island is gonna end up being named) being similar to Wano, split into nine different regions, each inspired by the nine realms of Norse Mythology, with a giant tree in the center of the island, much like how the world is depictured in actual Norse Myth, not the Marvel version where it's seperate dimensions in a cosmic tree, but physical regions surrounding a huge tree.
I can even see there being different "tribes" of giants inhabiting each region also being inspired by the various inhabitants of the Nine Realms, Elves, Humans, Jotnar, Dwarves etc. Now, I don't imagine them looking like Elves or Dwarves, but at least having some touches.
Oh and, BTW Tekking, Odin is not Loki's father in the actual mythology, that would be Farbauti, so I imagine he would be the King of Elbaf.

Egghead had this incredible island reveal, way better than I ever could have expected. I can't wait to see that first huge panel of the crew on Elbaf.
Personally, I believe Elbaf is going to be the biggest arc in One Piece. Throughout Luffy's journey, whenever the crew is about to reach a major island, they often make a stop at a smaller one first. For example, Jaya came before Skypiea, Sabaody before Fish-Man Island, Punk Hazard before Dressrosa, and Zou before Wano. Following this pattern, I think Egghead is just a setup arc, leading us into the much larger Elbaf storyline.

Everything indicates that. Apart from Oda's comment that he thought of a way which Luffy could skip Elbaf but ended up not going through with it. If it can be skipped even if it makes the story worse, then maybe not that much will happen there.

There is some part of me feeling a filler arc, or another Oda like carpet pull and Luffy doesn't actually set foot on Elbaf for a while for some yet unseen reason. Like Fishman right after Water 7 when we went through the Florian Triangle and to Sabaody before the timeskip. Oda also said there was a huge war coming soon and a big fight between people.

Wano and Elbaf are pretty close. I like the idea that before the sea level rised thousand years ago there was a massive island that encapsulated both Wano and Elbaf and that’s where giant (and ancient giant) come from
I’d love it if Oda made the Elbaf plot arc the longest running arc of the story if there will be many battles, many character arcs, and significant lore - lore significant to Elbaf and lore significant to the world of _One Piece_ at large.

Here are all my prediction/Theories about Elbaf:
I think Franky built _Sunny_ to be retrofitted for Pluton or to fight Pluton. I'm not saying Franky did it with that intention or that Luffy would ever ask him to. But Franky had those blueprints for long enough and Franky is smart enough to have memorized them. He likely built _Sunny_ so that he subconsciously made her super easy to turn into _Pluton_ or fight _Pluton_ if it was essential. If _Sunny_ is damaged retreating from Egghead, I can see him using Elbaf’s Treasure Tree to fix her and that’s when he turns _Sunny_ either into Pluton or the perfect _Pluton_ counter. Because remember, _Sunny_ is already made of a Treasure Tree.
When they arrive on Elbaf, the Straw Hats will learn of Kidd's defeat and learn that they are only like a half day behind Shanks.
I can see Elbaf divided into 9 counties of districts like Wano was. Each district is named after a different world and each county is connected by a bridge system or super highway called Yggdrasil.
I think Usopp will end up leading a brigade or division of Elbaf warriors during the final war, and those soldiers will total 8,000 men. I think Elbaf will be all about Usopp until they learn that info.
Uranus is the god of the sky and Elbaf is inspired by Vikings and Norse mythology. I can 100% see a plot point where there is an item or a person named Thor who is then revealed to be Uranus because Thor is the Norse God of the sky and comparative mythology is a thing.
With the symbolism of an Adam and an Eve tree(s), I could see the final war _starting_ with the Adam tree falling after an attack by the WG on Elbaf and _ending_ with the Eve tree falling after either the destruction of the Grand Line and/or the exodus of the Fishman to the surface world.
I think Elbaf has more information about the Void Century than the humans do. The giant lifespans are triple that of humans. So where it might be 12 generations back for humans, it might only be 3 to 4 for the Giants. Dorry and Brogy’s grandparents or great-grandparents could’ve fought alongside Joy Boy against the World Government. Also, the World Government has no influence over Elbaf so they never got a chance to censor their histories.
I think we will also learn that at some point, Alabasta and Elbaf were allies, likely during the Void Century and probably before that.
And I believe there will be a mink squirrel girl with huge chestnuts who acts as the guide for the world tree...
I know its gonna be norse mythology galore in this arc , oda could have a giant wolf named fenrir or he can have a elbaf giant warrior named fenrir that ate a wolf zoan and is the loyal subordinate of prince loki . Odin does not rule over the giants/Jotunns. He rules over the Aesir, there's also the Vanar gods, and there's Muspelheim, Vanaheim, Nifleheim, Hel, Alvheim (Svart and Ljoss - meaning dark and light), Midgard (that's where we are), Jotunnheim, and Asgard - all being situated on the world tree Yggdrasil
The Aesir live in Asgard, and the Vanar gods live in Vanaheim. Those are typically the "good guys" in norse myth, but you have Nifleheim and Muspelheim which represent realms of cold and fire respectively - typically neutral and chaotic forces. Then there's the Alvheim which is sort of like a realm for fey (more gnomish and elven styled fey for Ljossalvheim, and more overgrown swamp and dark forest styled svartalheim with notably: dwarves). Jotunns live in Jotunnheim and it's sort of this mystery of unknown land and territory with giant mountains and unpassable lands (it mostly represents the mountainous region of northern Norway, and through northern Norway, Sweden, and Finno-russia, but also includes some Icelandic and Faroe elements, such as a sea filled with tiny islands, all too dangerous to live in, as well as sparse regions where nothing grows - yet the Jotunns survive and remain unaffected).
Although Jotunns are also related to the Aesir and Vanar, the only groups of people unrelated are the Alvs/fey, dwarves, humans, and the odd mythological creature

An interesting theory is that goes along with the “What if Thor is the villain” stuff would be if Enel ended up being Thor, and that’s why he wanted to go to the moon, cause like Asgard or something. Maybe he was banished from Elbaf and his title of “God” in Skypia was a reflection of being a god in Norse mythology.

I keep seeing people think that Elbaf is going to be a transition arc like Zou, or a training arc like act 2 of Wano.
People, this is THE island we've been waiting for! Sure, Loadstar was the very first end point we were given way back with Crocus, but it's been mentioned maybe five times in the the whole manga. Elbaf, on the other hand, has been hammered again and again non-stop.

A theory came to me while I was cooking and listening the video, what if there´s something like the 9 realms in Elbaf, not like a realm itself but like diferent geographic place , and the strawhats have to divide.IDK Brook will go to the helhaim like place , Luffy to the Asgard like, and the rest to other ones. Maybe it´s like a training ark but we can actually see it, because i think they have to train to fight the Gorosei.

Blue sea Elbaf could be bigger than most islands but smaller than you'd think for the home of most giants, with most of the population on the white sea Elbaf & the royal family on white-white sea Elbaf.
Well to be fair, Loki is only a villain later in the mythology. At first he's in good standing mostly with the other gods, he's the trickster god, but mostly he tricksters for their benefit as well as his own. Though that doesn't say that anyone is always happy with the way his tricks work out.
My guess is that elbaf is where criminal underlords' headquarters are and Loki is one of them.

I've been hoping for a Davey Back fight with the Red Hair Pirates or even Blackbeard because of Kuzan, Garp and maybe even Pudding for Sanji.
With all that said, you mentioned a proving ground for the Giants, and I would love if they're the ones who culturally kept the Davey Back fights alive from Joy-Boys era and this is how they'll have a sparing match with the Straw Hats. Long-Ring Long-Land, could easily translate to tall giants being the inverse when the concept is reintroduced in Oda fashion. We also had the Wanton (might be spelling this wrong) who was the Half-Fishman, Half-Giant on Foxies crew so theres already a small connection within the story for it. I'm spitballing and don't expect this to happen but I've been looking forward to an amazing spin on the Davey Back fight for a while now and the potential for it seems endless at this point
You know what I was just thinking would be a hilarious twist for Elbaf? After all this Nordic hype, the giant warrior village is the extent of the Nordic theme while all other "realms" are fairly modernized 🤣
