Bear with me here: in Stampede, Buggy found and claimed the treasure first and the Strawhats took it (before Bullet appeared). They said multiple times that claiming it was as good as claiming one piece. I'm just saying maybe this was foreshadowing Buggy getting to the one piece first

You made it look like Kuzan doesn't have a clue about who he is or what he wants. I think Oda made it perfectly clear through Doflamingo's speech that that's not the case: there is a difference in the look of the ordinary vagabond and that of a determined man. He is not "trying new things". He knows exactly what he is doing, it's us who don't know.

Generally the revolutionary army is a major force/part of the story and will be important for and after the fall of the world governent. It is annyoing, but Dragon especially is saved for the endgame imo. Koby is the future of the "good" marines. It shows the growth of a characted from the first arc, paraleling Luffy.

The characters more of a joke now than an actual hype machine
i think the double page spread is also a mirror to show us the pairings in the future and getting the one piece. everyone lines up and has a history together with the odd ball pairing being dragon and kuzan.
I'm still holding out that Hanafuda is the man marked by flames because of the fact that he was the one that ace defeated and when the fan asked to see his design they just asked to see what he looked like they didn't ask what his condition was currently they didn't ask where he's at in the story currently how he looked after the fight with Ace like that's his design before the fight at like full health so who's to say now that he's recovered he's not got 70% of his body looking like Ryan Reynolds Deadpool

@@darkmond8680 My belief is that he got thrown into impel down for that short stint while he got defeated, when Luffy and Blackbeard went in and did their jailbreaks and essentially just busted the can wide open releasing all the prisoners, that was still pre-time skip so that would have given him enough time to build up some infamy as a "man marked by flames" and still have him be a "new enough" antagonistic Force or the like that it gives us an excuse to have not seen him beforehand

@@darkmond8680 That could be cool, It would give Blackbeard a chance to flesh out his power holders a little bit better, I wonder if the whole having two devil fruits thing is something he was able to let his crew in on and it has to be like a specific pairing of devil fruits or if that is still just reliant on his dark dark fruit; and yeah but part of that is because Ace was never a protagonist, I think he served as a good reflection point to show that while he has the power and charisma that Luffy has maybe even more so, he's not fit to be a leader the same way that Luffy was because Luffy was taught by these different figures that he's met throughout his journey to learn when to back down when to go full force etc and Ace was probably moreso planned to have been, while a bit of a simplified term, a necessary sacrifice in order to cause Luffy's character to grow because ever since then he has taken every threat seriously, no matter what it has been as long as there has been a threat he has taken it seriously he kind of shirked down that a little bit three time skip but now there's literally nothing that he doesn't snap to if he needs to

Great video. My thoughts on the final chapter? I like it its cool to see a flashback of Gol D. Roger and the 12 characters. And the 12 characters Oda drew? Interesting picks I was not expecting Koby to be in there. I think these characters have the potential to find the one piece and have a major part to play in the final saga. I would love to see Koby fight I know he has bravery but I would love to see if Luffy's speech at the beginning of the story he told to Koby lit a fire in him. Knowing Luffy having the power to change people if probably did.
Im looking at that last panel different. 4 emperors, then pairs of 8 others. Koby+Sabo are unlikely Allies, Sakazuki and Imu are Unlikely enemies. Dragon said Gods Knights would come which should be the mystery person, and Kuzan should run into Garling when Blackbeard makes some move

I could see the majority of those 12 figures arriving to get the one piece at the same time. With Luffy ultimately becoming victorious, or Luffy attaining the one piece is what sets in motion the final war, knowing he has it will get everyone en route
I feel like the one piece is something (probably information) that can only be accessed by “joyboy”…so Luffy. Like yes Roger found the one piece, but he wasn’t joyboy. Therefor he didn’t “do anything” with the one piece…or hell it’s just the friends we made along the way 😆
Something weird I noticed with the paneling, is that you see Kusan and Kobe both highlighted in light and the people that are on the same page are highlighted in dark. That could be foreshadowing that that’s who Juan and Kobe will fight. Just like how dragon and highlighted an emu and the mysterious holy night is dark. It could be that I knew will face the holy nights and dragons will face emu. I think Oda intentionally lightened their faces and darkened the others for more than just mysterious reasons. It might even reflect that they might be the light side versus the dark side of the same organization. Just a thought that occurred @23:57
Eh, that'd be discounting Blackbeard, who we don't know if he got Law's poneglyph etchings and he probably got Big mom's one. I feel like If Buggy, the man who probably doesn't have a single etching and never saw the island is in the running. It'd he crazy to count the big bad of the series out. (And yeah tekking says "buggy and shanks should know a general area" but frankly the island could he gone due to the water rising, or they just didn't pay attention.) (I feel like, atleast for me. If someone asked me how to get to a place i haven't gone back to in 20 years, I wouldn't be able to remember at all, but that's just me)

Ironically, koby was created by the world government. His version of the marines is the version in their propaganda, the actually moral and good heroes of justice like in the comics.
Sakazuki controlling the world with spiked helmets made me think of that alternate timeline where the Warden from Superjail! took over the world by turning into one giant jail.
So this may be a weird wrong interpretation, but the way I read the chapters dialogue, Sakazuki was the one telling the others to think about the people that'd be put in danger if the marines went after the one piece (Since all the other shots of locations focused on the figurehead of the groups opinions). Which to me says he doesnt care about the One Piece as much as he does the protection of the public from the chaos it would cause if found. Which feels like an interesting direction to go.
Marines are supposed to protect civilians, not look for treasures. Pirates are most likely to find it. Vegapunk said "people who refuse to buckle under suppression are the ones likely to discover the truth." Then the transmission is lost for a few moments before the message continues. This time, Vegapunk says that Roger sent them there. This suggests that people who are striving for freedom and truth are most likely to reach the One Piece, including Nikas (Luffy and Bonney with the straw hat crew) and those who have faced discrimination and refused to let it defeat them. Vegapunk probably meant to say that Roger sent pirates to the seas in search of the truth/One Piece but he could have also meant the members of the D clan like Teach and Luffy. I am been thinking One Piece is a remnant of the Void Century which can be used for some unknown purpose. Roger pirates were not able to use it so to them, it was just a tale. Either way, finding it will reveal history in its entirety. It may have something to do with voice of all things. Sea kings said they were waiting for someone who would show up 20 years in the future. This was more than 25 years ago. Oden also wanted to open Wano's borders but Momonosuke decided it was not the time yet.
In a series that is all about finding the One Piece, it would be interesting to see people and groups we never suspected to be interested in the One Piece (like the revs) to actually go and try to find it. I don’t know if I’m fully convinced myself about this idea, but it would certainly make for a great twist of expectations.
Buggy IS gonna find the One Piece, but won't realize it in time. Like he would LITERALLY be standing on it and not know. Lol I'll bet it ALL on the Big Nose
Hello Tekking, I always appreciate your videos, they are good chapter recaps that make me think about the story. :D Heres my take: What strikes me odd is that there are many overlaps between all these contestants for One Piece and weird choises like Kuzan, Sabo and Koby, who don't really feel like interested in finding it, but are still maybe 2nd strongest characters in their "crews", it feels to me like Oda had drawn a picture of Zoro there in the panels. This in mind these 12 could also simply represent tag teams of the ruling forces of the seas. Think: World government (Imu & Figarland), Marines (Sakazuki & Coby), Black Beard Pirates ( BB & Kuzan), Revolutionaries (Dragon & Sabo), Shanks & his simbling or another secret ally, and FINALLY Pirate bros for life Buggy and Luffy! I know the last one is kinda two big ruling forces joining together, but wasn't World Goverment afraid of two Yonkos joining together recently? It hasn't yet happened succesfully.. they would also represent good pirates oposing Black Beard's way of piracy
Heres something to consider (im at the 10 min mark) shanks will NOT go to laughtale without buggy. They made a promise they would see it together so if buggy cant make it i dont think shanks will go deep down they are still friends.
I think the One Piece is "desire," like a crystallized chunk of the metaphysical wants of the world. Using the One Piece will change what people long for. If someone like Blackbeard found it, he will make everyone desire chaos. If Luffy found it, he would destroy it because he'd think it would control them inadvertently. But it's a treasure that makes me people want it, rather than something people want, if that makes sense

All the meaningful narrative threads that eventually need to be tied up in One Piece, in no particular order: -The One Piece is found -Luffy becomes pirate king -Shanks and Luffy have their reunion -Zoro has his duel with Mihawk -Enel returns from the moon -Urouge is involved in an upcoming arc -Blackbeard reveals the secrets of how he ate 2 devil fruit -Catarina Devon impersonates Saturn -Pudding either reads the poneglyphs with her awakened third eye tribe powers or uses her memory fruit to gain knowledge of laugh tale another way -the three ancient weapons are seen and used -the giant straw hat's significance is revealed -Imu's connection to Nefertari Lily is revealed -Luffy uses the voice of all things to do something instrumental in the story -The man marked by flames is found -Franky either builds or repairs Pluton, he is the only person in the world with its now destroyed blue prints memorized -Kuzan reveals why he went with Blackbeard -Zoro achieves making at least one of his swords a permanently black blade -what's in Smoker's box -Shirahoshi uses her command of the sea kings for a story event -Doflamingo either escapes Impel Down or influences events from within it -We find out what the ancient treasure in Mariejois Doflamingo knew about is -Dragon does literally fucking anything -the eternal youth surgery is performed -The prince of Elbaf Loki is seen or does something pivotal -the will of D and the void century history is revealed These feel like all of the things which *will* happen before the series' end based on the fact they've been set up and established. But there are also things that haven't been set up narratively as lingering threads which will pay off, which may still happen because they just make sense from a thematic/story perspective: -the seraphim go rogue -Fujitora and Ryogyuku clash again over the future of the marines -Garp dies -Luffy and Vivi have a reunion -Scopper Gaban makes a present day appearance in some capacity -Rayleigh dies -Luffy and Akainu meet again, bringing full circle Akainu's hatred of and attempted murder of Luffy and Luffy's hatred of Akainu for killing Ace -Akainu and or Kuzan come face to face with/interact with Robin -Zoro fights Garling -the ten titanic captains all get fights, potentially each against a straw hat since there's ten and ten Most other stuff however, is too far away to meaningfully predict. Stuff like "is there going to be a schism in the marines caused by Kobe" or "will Akainu rebel against the world government if he learns the truth of the world" etc.
While we're left waiting an extra week for the next One Piece chapter, please do a theory video on why the treasure stolen from Fullalead by the World Nobles that instigated the God Valley Incident wasn't the Azure Dragon Fruit or the Paw-Paw Fruit as many suspect, but was instead the Glug-Glug Fruit, as well as all the reasons why and the implications it raises. Preferably in the most Oda manner possible.
I dk why every op youtuber doesn't think of it, nobody said it but, at least for me Kuzan on the last panel is 90% confirmed to be the leader of sword + exept for koby the last panel is devided by who is a conqueror (right side) vs strong contenders for the op (left side). But maybe koby will bloom at the end of the story or even a timeskip
Funny how tekking was surprised the most by Aokiji being on the end panel, when, for me, that level of surprise was aimed at Koby and Sabo. Like i get their famous in the world for their actions (sabo is the flame emperor and Koby being famous for 1 battle) But when i read the last panel, i actively went "theyre trying to find the one piece as well? Since when?" Most of them made sense, Dragon has a vast info network and, if it really can change the world/help his revolution. Of course, he'd be going after it or have a cuance at finding it. I feel like its more a problem with the fact we only follow Luffy and his crew, and while we see snipits of events outside of the main story, we always go back to them by tue end of it. So, to me, only pirates were trying to find it Also on a side note. Probably because of how he runs away alot, and how past him wanted to be a small time east blue pirate. I could see his wish being that everyone forgets about him so he can stop the charade.

In fact what happens if you remove dragon from the story You don't really lose any important story beats and who's been extremely unactive in the story to the point where people Make fun of his character being out for so long that his characters basically worthless he saved the main character early on but it was such a unimportant event that that just you could have just removed it all together

Generally the revolutionary army is a major force/part of the story and will be important for and after the fall of the world governent. It is annyoing, but Dragon especially is saved for the endgame imo. Koby is the future of the "good" marines. It shows the growth of a characted from the first arc, paraleling Luffy.

And if you cut out all of their scenes nothing really changes in the story. And the problem does remain that dragon Has spent way too long in the story just kind of standing there He had his one moment really early on and then we're supposed to be hyped for him to do something else but he hasn't in blood 900 chapters or more. The characters more of a joke now than an actual hype machine
i think the double page spread is also a mirror to show us the pairings in the future and getting the one piece. everyone lines up and has a history together with the odd ball pairing being dragon and kuzan.

I'm still holding out that Hanafuda is the man marked by flames because of the fact that he was the one that ace defeated and when the fan asked to see his design they just asked to see what he looked like they didn't ask what his condition was currently they didn't ask where he's at in the story currently how he looked after the fight with Ace like that's his design before the fight at like full health so who's to say now that he's recovered he's not got 70% of his body looking like Ryan Reynolds Deadpool

@@darkmond8680 My belief is that he got thrown into impel down for that short stint while he got defeated, when Luffy and Blackbeard went in and did their jailbreaks and essentially just busted the can wide open releasing all the prisoners, that was still pre-time skip so that would have given him enough time to build up some infamy as a "man marked by flames" and still have him be a "new enough" antagonistic Force or the like that it gives us an excuse to have not seen him beforehand

@@darkmond8680 That could be cool, It would give Blackbeard a chance to flesh out his power holders a little bit better, I wonder if the whole having two devil fruits thing is something he was able to let his crew in on and it has to be like a specific pairing of devil fruits or if that is still just reliant on his dark dark fruit; and yeah but part of that is because Ace was never a protagonist, I think he served as a good reflection point to show that while he has the power and charisma that Luffy has maybe even more so, he's not fit to be a leader the same way that Luffy was because Luffy was taught by these different figures that he's met throughout his journey to learn when to back down when to go full force etc and Ace was probably moreso planned to have been, while a bit of a simplified term, a necessary sacrifice in order to cause Luffy's character to grow because ever since then he has taken every threat seriously, no matter what it has been as long as there has been a threat he has taken it seriously he kind of shirked down that a little bit three time skip but now there's literally nothing that he doesn't snap to if he needs to

Great video. My thoughts on the final chapter? I like it its cool to see a flashback of Gol D. Roger and the 12 characters. And the 12 characters Oda drew? Interesting picks I was not expecting Koby to be in there. I think these characters have the potential to find the one piece and have a major part to play in the final saga. I would love to see Koby fight I know he has bravery but I would love to see if Luffy's speech at the beginning of the story he told to Koby lit a fire in him. Knowing Luffy having the power to change people if probably did.

Something weird I noticed with the paneling, is that you see Kusan and Kobe both highlighted in light and the people that are on the same page are highlighted in dark. That could be foreshadowing that that’s who Juan and Kobe will fight.
Just like how dragon and highlighted an emu and the mysterious holy night is dark.
It could be that I knew will face the holy nights and dragons will face emu. I think Oda intentionally lightened their faces and darkened the others for more than just mysterious reasons. It might even reflect that they might be the light side versus the dark side of the same organization. Just a thought that occurred @23:57

The shaddowy person is aviously Higuma making his big return, as a representation of the mountain bandits, one of the faction not represented elsewhere (with bounty hunters I guess).

Ironically, koby was created by the world government. His version of the marines is the version in their propaganda, the actually moral and good heroes of justice like in the comics.
Sakazuki controlling the world with spiked helmets made me think of that alternate timeline where the Warden from Superjail! took over the world by turning into one giant jail.

What if the mysterious character is rocks tekking the bottom of the face kinda looks like him and he never officially said rocks was killed
So this may be a weird wrong interpretation, but the way I read the chapters dialogue, Sakazuki was the one telling the others to think about the people that'd be put in danger if the marines went after the one piece (Since all the other shots of locations focused on the figurehead of the groups opinions).
Which to me says he doesnt care about the One Piece as much as he does the protection of the public from the chaos it would cause if found. Which feels like an interesting direction to go.
Marines are supposed to protect civilians, not look for treasures. Pirates are most likely to find it. Vegapunk said "people who refuse to buckle under suppression are the ones likely to discover the truth." Then the transmission is lost for a few moments before the message continues. This time, Vegapunk says that Roger sent them there. This suggests that people who are striving for freedom and truth are most likely to reach the One Piece, including Nikas (Luffy and Bonney with the straw hat crew) and those who have faced discrimination and refused to let it defeat them. Vegapunk probably meant to say that Roger sent pirates to the seas in search of the truth/One Piece but he could have also meant the members of the D clan like Teach and Luffy. I am been thinking One Piece is a remnant of the Void Century which can be used for some unknown purpose. Roger pirates were not able to use it so to them, it was just a tale. Either way, finding it will reveal history in its entirety. It may have something to do with voice of all things. Sea kings said they were waiting for someone who would show up 20 years in the future. This was more than 25 years ago. Oden also wanted to open Wano's borders but Momonosuke decided it was not the time yet.
In a series that is all about finding the One Piece, it would be interesting to see people and groups we never suspected to be interested in the One Piece (like the revs) to actually go and try to find it. I don’t know if I’m fully convinced myself about this idea, but it would certainly make for a great twist of expectations.

Hello Tekking, I always appreciate your videos, they are good chapter recaps that make me think about the story. :D
Heres my take:
What strikes me odd is that there are many overlaps between all these contestants for One Piece and weird choises like Kuzan, Sabo and Koby, who don't really feel like interested in finding it, but are still maybe 2nd strongest characters in their "crews", it feels to me like Oda had drawn a picture of Zoro there in the panels. This in mind these 12 could also simply represent tag teams of the ruling forces of the seas. Think: World government (Imu & Figarland), Marines (Sakazuki & Coby), Black Beard Pirates ( BB & Kuzan), Revolutionaries (Dragon & Sabo), Shanks & his simbling or another secret ally, and FINALLY Pirate bros for life Buggy and Luffy! I know the last one is kinda two big ruling forces joining together, but wasn't World Goverment afraid of two Yonkos joining together recently? It hasn't yet happened succesfully.. they would also represent good pirates oposing Black Beard's way of piracy
Heres something to consider (im at the 10 min mark) shanks will NOT go to laughtale without buggy. They made a promise they would see it together so if buggy cant make it i dont think shanks will go deep down they are still friends.
I think the One Piece is "desire," like a crystallized chunk of the metaphysical wants of the world. Using the One Piece will change what people long for. If someone like Blackbeard found it, he will make everyone desire chaos. If Luffy found it, he would destroy it because he'd think it would control them inadvertently. But it's a treasure that makes me people want it, rather than something people want, if that makes sense

Tekking dude, I saw the chapter, the man marked by flames, has rogers sword. Rogers sword is called Ace which could be related to flames. My theory is that if it is not unknown this could be rayleigh or King. Sorry if Im annoying, i just geek out on this stuff

All the meaningful narrative threads that eventually need to be tied up in One Piece, in no particular order:
-The One Piece is found
-Luffy becomes pirate king
-Shanks and Luffy have their reunion
-Zoro has his duel with Mihawk
-Enel returns from the moon
-Urouge is involved in an upcoming arc
-Blackbeard reveals the secrets of how he ate 2 devil fruit
-Catarina Devon impersonates Saturn
-Pudding either reads the poneglyphs with her awakened third eye tribe powers or uses her memory fruit to gain knowledge of laugh tale another way
-the three ancient weapons are seen and used
-the giant straw hat's significance is revealed
-Imu's connection to Nefertari Lily is revealed
-Luffy uses the voice of all things to do something instrumental in the story
-The man marked by flames is found
-Franky either builds or repairs Pluton, he is the only person in the world with its now destroyed blue prints memorized
-Kuzan reveals why he went with Blackbeard
-Zoro achieves making at least one of his swords a permanently black blade
-what's in Smoker's box
-Shirahoshi uses her command of the sea kings for a story event
-Doflamingo either escapes Impel Down or influences events from within it
-We find out what the ancient treasure in Mariejois Doflamingo knew about is
-Dragon does literally fucking anything
-the eternal youth surgery is performed
-The prince of Elbaf Loki is seen or does something pivotal
-the will of D and the void century history is revealed
These feel like all of the things which *will* happen before the series' end based on the fact they've been set up and established. But there are also things that haven't been set up narratively as lingering threads which will pay off, which may still happen because they just make sense from a thematic/story perspective:
-the seraphim go rogue
-Fujitora and Ryogyuku clash again over the future of the marines
-Garp dies
-Luffy and Vivi have a reunion
-Scopper Gaban makes a present day appearance in some capacity
-Rayleigh dies
-Luffy and Akainu meet again, bringing full circle Akainu's hatred of and attempted murder of Luffy and Luffy's hatred of Akainu for killing Ace
-Akainu and or Kuzan come face to face with/interact with Robin
-Zoro fights Garling
-the ten titanic captains all get fights, potentially each against a straw hat since there's ten and ten
Most other stuff however, is too far away to meaningfully predict. Stuff like "is there going to be a schism in the marines caused by Kobe" or "will Akainu rebel against the world government if he learns the truth of the world" etc.
Shanks definitely couldn't be too upset if Luffy gets it before him

While we're left waiting an extra week for the next One Piece chapter, please do a theory video on why the treasure stolen from Fullalead by the World Nobles that instigated the God Valley Incident wasn't the Azure Dragon Fruit or the Paw-Paw Fruit as many suspect, but was instead the Glug-Glug Fruit, as well as all the reasons why and the implications it raises. Preferably in the most Oda manner possible.
I dk why every op youtuber doesn't think of it, nobody said it but, at least for me Kuzan on the last panel is 90% confirmed to be the leader of sword + exept for koby the last panel is devided by who is a conqueror (right side) vs strong contenders for the op (left side). But maybe koby will bloom at the end of the story or even a timeskip

Funny how tekking was surprised the most by Aokiji being on the end panel, when, for me, that level of surprise was aimed at Koby and Sabo.
Like i get their famous in the world for their actions (sabo is the flame emperor and Koby being famous for 1 battle)

Most of them made sense, Dragon has a vast info network and, if it really can change the world/help his revolution. Of course, he'd be going after it or have a cuance at finding it.
I feel like its more a problem with the fact we only follow Luffy and his crew, and while we see snipits of events outside of the main story, we always go back to them by tue end of it. So, to me, only pirates were trying to find it
Also on a side note. Probably because of how he runs away alot, and how past him wanted to be a small time east blue pirate. I could see his wish being that everyone forgets about him so he can stop the charade.
The top four engage for the one piece and the bottom 8 start the final war. Raftel and the final war start at the same time and end in the same place, the winner of the top (luffy) will fight the winner of the bottom (imu)
