Every boss shows up in the Mushroom Kingdom, so you could arguably defeat Mecha-Wiggler and say you didn't kill it. Plus, its a robot. If the Broodals' Mech can be destroyed, the Mecha-Wiggler can, too.
Furthermore, it is only in Darker Side that the Broodals only apparat for the last time. If you never go to Dark Side, you never really kill the Broodals
Gambling doesn't really stimulate the economy when you win every time with a perfect strategy. You're basically just stealing from the slots operators.
But you pay coins and win a moon. The moon isn’t a normal currency and is only valuable to someone like Mario who uses it as fuel. But Coins are universal.

Super Mario Galaxy stars are indeed living creatures (transformed Lumas), but Power Moons are established to be SM64 Power Stars, which are entirely separate. There's no indication that Power Moons are anything more than sources of power. (Bonus note: Lumas are in an eternal cycle of rebirth. The Luma that transformed into the Comet Observatory was reborn, as were all the Lumas that gave their lives to stop the black hole, so using Galaxy Power Stars and turning hungry Lumas into galaxies and so forth is perfectly ethical.)
With the Mechawiggler problem, *technically*, Cappy tortures Mario into unwillingly possessing a tank and shooting at a giant robot, so it's all Cappy's fault.

You can't unless you're in a version before 1.2 because in 1.2 and 1.3, you can't fight Madame Broode without collecting the moon, and only 5 moons spawn that are outside of the bossfight
