Games are supposed to played for fun, and it''s a good thing that devs are willing to provide resources to players who want to get better, whether they don't know where to start, or don't have the time to grind a fighting game for 8 hours a day. If you think any game is being dumbed down due to the skill level of the player base, you're probably the casual, because a ton of games are easy to pick up and still have extremely high skill ceilings for competitive players.

I honestly really hope the customization Day1 is way better fleshed out than T7 was. I probably put more hours into TT2 on making silly outfit-pair teams than I did actually fighting, and 7's options Day1 were EXTREMELY limited by comparison. Tekken Ball being back too just puts such a massive smile on my face.

I might actually get this at some point, I tried learning T7 but felt so overwhelmed cuz of how Tekken is compared to other fighting games, but it seems like they really doubled down on the learning elements in this one

I am absolutely loving Tekken 8, first Tekken game I’ve ever played but I have played Soul Calibur so I get the gist. But I wouldn’t have even picked it up if MK1 wasn’t disappointing me like it currently is. I simply don’t enjoy the grind the NRS is forcing and the excessive monetization of things that should already be a part of the game. So far with T8 I’m not feeling that grind (Probably because it’s new), it’s just pick up and play what you want. I’m also not feeling like the developers want to gouge me for skins because you can make your own palette swaps free of charge.

I would say I have a hard time envisioning an MK character in a game where they can't rip someone's arm off, shove it down their throat, and pull it out of their torso, but Negan managed to work in Tekken, and he comes from a rated M franchise. I'm almost positive Tekken 8 will get at one guest character, I'm pulling for Tifa, but there's telling who it could be.
My guide recommendation is actually playing the game and trying to discover something for yourself. A wild concept in today's world where everyone is an ambitious E-athlete looking for prize money instead of entertainment.
Bamco should be the to take notes about single player, the content in Tekken 8 is still far behind MK1 even with the quantity, also the netcode in MK1 is far better than T8 and T8 also doesn't have a tutorial mode unlike MK1.

After spending dozens and dozens of hours in MK1 to master a few >40% combos with two characters just to find out that the obscenely difficult input timing makes it impossible to consistently land them online due to micro lag stuttering randomly, I'm just not going to buy this game if it has the same problem. That killed the game for me. If micro lag stuttering that eats inputs is simply unavoidable, then it's the devs job to balance the required input timings *around* that amount of lag, and therefore not require 1 or 2 max frame window inputs through multiple parts of the combos.

I feel that. What I would recommend (if your willing) is to not look at the all moves tab in the move list. Instead learn the main techniques. It's a much shortened list that tells you the main moves your mostly going to be using with that character anyway. A majority of players are probably only going to use a good 10% of what the character can do. The fun part is finding out what your 10% of that character will belong to you. There can legit be two versions of a high skill King because both Lil Majin and Tasty Steve will do different things with the character.
You don’t use half of them, it’s not that big a deal you just learn what’s needed, your punishers and lunchers is all u need. And they made the heat engagers universal so nothing to learn there.

I played the demo as a newbie, and the turorials in that really helped me improve my skills although not to a pro players level but good enough to train improve your skill in this. Plus, this is a console type of fighting game not a mobile based fighting game where you have to spend currency to upgrade your character to get easy wins.

@@cartoonvideos5hello a fellow casual over here. And your argument is completely baseless. This game is doing a lot for the casual audience. The story is much much better than prior entries. I played the demo as a newbie, and the turorials in that really helped me improve my skills although not to a pro players level but good enough to train improve your skill in this.
Plus, this is a console type of fighting game not a mobile based fighting game where you have to spend currency to upgrade your character to get easy wins.
