- Tekken 8 has arrived, part of the next generation of fighting games, and some would say part of the new fighting game golden age! This video is here to help you understand how the characters and cast of Tekken 8 work and to help you find your main character! Tekken 8 is full of many unique characters with tons of varied and interesting gameplay so hopefully this video helps you understand how they work. Here we are with the Choose a Main video for Tekken 8! We have lots of characters to look at in this newest installment of the franchise and this video is here to give you an understanding of what every character is about so you can figure out which character you want to main! Timestamps are provided for everyone so feel free to skip ahead wherever you want in the video(although be a pal and leave a like!) and other than that, enjoy! Also, apologies in a few sections where game audio is slightly delayed, thats cause my capture card was melting from so many hours of use straight lol

hey, HELLO AND WELCOME, its the thing! I basically didn't sleep since launch other than 1 little nap but we got the video live now so hope you enjoy it! This is the single longest video I have ever made, and im known for long videos lol. Really wish I coulda brought it to you on launch day but Namco basically stonewalled and ignored me on my countless attempts to reach out to them for an early copy like any reviewer/influencer would get, so the process got delayed. Thankfully for future major fighting game releases every other company is already my friend so that shouldn't be an issue. Anyways enjoy, and friggin hit that like button ok!!!!!!

Bots and vertify tag users meeting I see. chanels having 1.3 M subscribers but their videos get 30k views u know something is broken on youtube. every comment chanel with vertify tag makes gets automaticlly pushed to the top. so they go around popular videos posting pretentious caring comments just to get subs. some of these channels are often sold on black market too i assume

I am in awe of the dedication required to put this kind of guide together. Seriously impressive work and that’s coming from someone jumping into the genre with this game so like, I *barely* understand how you event went about learning all the characters this quickly.
Tekken characters barely change from game to game. Legacy skill exists in tekken.
I would recommend still looking up specific char guides from other ppl after watching this vid as there are some things he did not know/got slightly wrong. E.g. at the start he mentioned Jin f4 on counter hit does not give a 'long stun', whereas in fact its even easier to get a full combo off that move than before

@@prosaic4195I always notice when people use the correct one. I also identify as one of the 3 people on the planet who use ee. g. when it applies.
Personally, I lay claim to noticing when people say "bereft" when they actually mean "devoid" and when they use "catch-22" improperly when they likely mean something like "between a rock and a hard place" or "dammed if you do, dammed if you don't".

This really is shaping up to be the best of the heavy hitting modern fighting games. That roster size and character customization is the best I have ever seen.
Honestly, I’m actually very disappointed with the character customization. Me and my girlfriend were playing soul calibur lately, and had fun just creating characters, so Tekken’s was a little underwhelming. Especially since you can’t put patterns or stickers on clothes
@@phabiorulesi guess, but this game is leagues above soul calibur in every other facet so i can tolerate the lackluster character customization. in the end, the customization is still better than every AAA fighter besides soul calibur, so coming from street fighter it’s a blessing.
@@phabiorulesits still amazing, i could create morpheus and neo from the matrix with leroy and jin respectively, also did gojo on lee and john wick on victor and they all look kinda close, leroy and victor look really similar and lee looks like live action gojo they're also very simple costumizations

I am liking Jun's style. My first Tekken was T7, so this is my first time playing her and she has quite a few moves that are similar to Aoi from VF, which used to be my main 3D fighting game. I guess I just like Aikijujutsu stuff. It looks elegant and feels nice to play.
Like others have said, the effort to put this together so quickly is unreal and very appreciated! This will be my first fighting game besides super smash bros that I plan to dive into and just having a general idea of what each character can do goes a long way for someone like me. Really loving the game so far and can’t wait to learn my first combo or two haha
Already playing Law but maybe this will change my mind. Been having such a blast with the game. Every day im learning so much

I got into 7 late and I'm so excited to play 8, but I look at these games and I just don't even know where to start. Thank you so much for this!! I feel like Alisa is so much more than just chainsaws. She's become my accidental main due to how unpredictable her attacks can be. Between the long pokes, range attacks, head moves (which are amazing), and her ability to activate her chainsaws in a move set (also as a heat engager), I've been able to keep people guessing. And when the chainsaws are out, the pressure can really build.
But I'm also just a casual player, so I'm sure there are better characters. Thanks for this informative video!

That was awesome. I did x1.25 it up but rewatched some characters. As an absolute beginner (if we forget everything since tekken4), the time investment was worth it!
Still, I couldn't decide yet but I was able to cut down 26 Characters.

Props for actually showing some stuff in practice despite making the video longer. Very helpful. Other creators just lazily scroll through them on char select while spouting moves without showing anything in practice.

I need to leave a comment just to thank you for these great resource videos on Tekken 8. I'm relatively new to the series and these are really friendly to a newcomer like myself. Thanks for putting in the work to make these.
This is my first big jump into Tekken, and the characters in this game can feel pretty overwhelmingly deep, so I really appreciate the video to help make them easier to grasp! I'm enjoying law right now, but there's a handful I'd like to try before I settle with a main!
I was finally able to narrow down who I want to use in this game. At first I was just gonna go with Hwaorang because he was my main in my first and only tekken game (tekken tag tournament) but when I first booted up Tekken 8 I was greeted with many characters I like. Including Hwaorang, I love Reina, Claudio, Lili, Leo, Victor and Leroy. That’s 7 whole characters and I had no clue who I wanted to use. But after playing for a bit I think I’m gonna go with Lili and Hwaorang cause I realized I just like them both more then the others and I can’t learn all those characters together or it’ll just stunt my growth. The game is fun but super frustrating to learn, especially since I’ve never been good at fighting games. But I’m gonna put a genuine effort into this! Wish me luck!

Nice overview of Zafina!! I main her. I appreciate your attention in breaking her down. I have to adust to alot of her new gameplay mechanics coming from T7. I just hate they didnt allow her to showcase her Azazel powers a bit in the main story.

Feng has been my main for years. I used to be a a Mishima main but Feng took me a long time to get good with and he’s soooo badass.
