Small correction: 2:37 is Naoki Miyajima not Gosso (he did the cut before) and 6:53 is Hakuyu Go. And its was the 1st not 2nd opening Bahi worked on at 5:43

@@thedestroyer5794 me too. its consistent. the fight scenes are great and they have lots of details where they need to be. some scenes are 3d i think, if you look closely at the newer episodes on season 2 you can spot it on some of the buildings. i dont think they do 3d on the characters though.

I don't remember the last time a blu-ray release added so many cut scenes back in.
Goated work from the animators, you can once again tell that they truly and deeply care for JJK.
If the producers really cared this would've been in from the beginning.

@@workemail8723 Good thing that the animators cared, who actually had to do the work and were subjected to an awful schedule by the production committee and their superiors at basically every single step.
Just imagine sitting at your desk, working, until you fall asleep from exhaustion, and then waking up two hours later to continue working.

I appreciated it so much also. Shows that we really fall in love with the individual skill expression rather than the show itself.
seeing how excellent this turned out in the blu-ray release, im seriously hoping they take their time with making season 3 because if we can expcet this level of artistry if we're patient. I'll wait as long as necesary 😭

The part where sukuna turned to the abstract smudge of paint and strokes, legit gave me shills. And with the close up you gave literally made me feel scared. Props to the animators for such SUCH a perfect job man... They need to have better treatment so more of this majestic animation gets produced
I think Mappa just needs to perfect Domain Expansion: Infinite Slave Labor for us to really get the best out of them
They needed a lot more time to make what they really wanted, the blu ray version is probably not even the desired version, just what they could put out

Finally someone who's not yapping about impact frames and can actually see all the other awesome aspects of a cut.
The fight already was my favorite, but the addition of what I’ll call “Demonframes” made this fight way more supernatural then anything I’ve seen before.

Underrated as always ForgottenRelics. Thank you so much for putting in the time and effort to identify the animators BY NAME and not just refer to the collective changes as done by "MAPPA".
Seen way too many UA-camrs that cover the animation changes this episode brings by saying things like "nice job MAPPA" and its infuriating.

@@mixxwixx Correct, but that doesn’t excuse the horrific work conditions that they subject their animators to. The same conditions the animators (that make astounding animations like these) speak out against.
We can respect the phenomenal work put out by the animators and acknowledge the harsh conditions they work under at the same time. As well as celebrate and give them respect by name rather than solely referring to them as “MAPPA” or as “MAPPA’s animators”.

This new animation style perfectly fits jjk it switches from messy, loose chaotic scene with sukuna and mahorhaga to detailed and flowly to fast and destructive which really does fit in jjk fights.

Honestly the original wasn't even that bad but people shit on it so much without knowing how much work it takes. It's nice to see they do improve it though and that they put even more care into it

I personally hate this style, it looks more like a fan creation rather than something with lots of intricate details and attention.

I liked it. But great creators are often perfectionists so they producers and probably the animators themselves weren't satisfied with the product so they retconned with the Blu ray. I definitely wasn't shitting on it. I love the show all the way around
@sairentokir5060 remember how much the animation broke down during the Naruto vs Pain fight. The one after pain stabbed hinata and the tailed beast came out. Still one of my favorite fights in naruto

yeah my error there, Vincents cut comes directly after Go's and I got them mixed up
@@FTF65 All of his cuts were finished in time for the TV version, but the one that comes right after Onsen's part was only partially used back then.

The Animators at MAAPA deserve some major credit for going back and not only improving the animations on JJK but also creatinf new scenes for the anime.
I know Mahoraga is the monster or curse/shikigami in this fight but 1:23 Sukuna looks terrifing as heck in that scene
4:51 Sukuna is actually spinning around Mahoraga rapid firing cleaves drifting away while Maho is deflecting.

As someone who can animate, this is absolutely insane, the amount of effort they put into this blows my mind, this is probably the best animation i have ever seen, and one day i hope to be even a fraction as good as these guys are
bahi jd was one of those animators i got to know relatively early his work is just a perfect example to follow.
That shot for the thumbnail just emphasized on Sukuna being a literal living demon. God praise these animators and love the shout-outs to them as well.
0:35 this particular scene watching it the first time stood out to me it felt like Mahoraga literally got punched out 4 dimensions

God you can just see the raw talent in Vincent Chansards sequences, it's beyond insane how much of his work was cut, he's beyond talented.

Wow. Kudos to you for going through each animator, what they've done before, and what they did in this JJK episode. I really appreciate being able to feel appreciation for specific people. ;) Now I have to get the Blu-rays dammit. That freeze frame of the scribble faced Sukuna was chilling. And you can faintly see his four eyes looking perhaps more like his original form and not his Yuji-adapted one.

these animators deserve a spot in the hall of fame, absolutely stunning
The episode is is still incomplete and it doesn't fulfill the ambition of what this episode was supposed to be. This episode was supposed to pass episode 16 in every fashion. Much of the storyboard is still incoherent, and some animators that worked on the initial airing of this episode weren't able to come back for the blue ray, but I'm glad it was done some justice so people can witness the absolute raw talent of many of the animators that contributed.

By the way, the "captain's wheel" is a Dharmachakra, possibly the most important icon in Indian religious culture, which takes the form of an eight-spoked wheel representing Buddha's law! I can't give a concise explanation here, nor do I trust myself to give an ACCURATE explanation, and I doubt anyone would want to read it either way, but it's a neat thing to read up on!

I've been a fan of Hakuyu Go, it's always hype when he comes back to do another episode every new season of Mob Psycho 100 and now the guy gets to work on such passion and big project like JJK. I love how the explosion scenes, both from MP100 II and JJK, they have the same exact energy

The trailer for season 3 of opm has been out for a while and it's the same studio as season 2 lol. But things seems much better because it looks like they had Better schedule this time around let's hope for the best

In terms of story, this fight adds a plot hole for the anime. What's the plot hole?
Since Makora take this long to get adjusted to Sukuna's techniques, it will take a lot longer time and hits to get adapted to Gojo's technique.
So, in the manga, Makora vs Sukuna ends with Sukuna's 3 Dismantle (2 hits and 1 deflected), 1 Domain Expansion and 1 Fire of Extinction technique.
It's time to watch that episode again! I already watched it at least 10 times. Thanks for the video!
