    I had an electric bike/scooter in China (PRC). The top speed was 42mph, but it was comfy at 30. I could ride well over 2 hrs through Shanghai traffic and still had juice. I opted for an LI battery, but it could have had lead acid ones, too. Total price was 250 USD or less. Dunno about the weight restriction, but this is the one that local delivery guys use for all their packages. Sadly, this bike will never be imported into the US.

    Curious on how people got their hands on this bike already? I pre-ordered one, and the website says the shipping time is april 9th. Order the rose gold for my mom. Will be my second Engwe bike. I was able to get my hands on the Engine Pro limited edition aqua green color. Customer service through Engwe has taken care of any issues I've had with no problems. They even gave me a $100 discount code that made the L20 2.0 bike $699. I like the fact that there is no tax & free shipping. 👍

    I ride this bike everyday for about 6 hours. mostly manual pedalling to do courier work. Its not lacking AT ALL in terms of power. The battery life however feels like the reason the bike is modestly priced. If you want to throttle only for any meaningful length of time, you are going to NEED a second battery. The seat also sucks. worst bike seat i have ever sat on and i used to ride huffys to work.

    Best Electric bike I ever had was called Nio and I bought it in Beijing China. It would take me 55kms or about 30 miles at about 28 miles per hr. These are all outlawed now but it was fun.

    Funny how several different brands have a lot of similarities. I assume there are a few actual manufacturers, and the change a few little things for different brands. I bought the EUYbike, and most of that frame looks the same, but the suspension seat and fork adjustment are different. The rest seems very similar. I haven't had the weather to let me do serious testing, but so far, I am impressed for the money.

    Folding E-bikes are a compromise, but if folding in paramount then this bike hits all the important stuff especially for the price. "Get on the snake with a swarm of motor fly's Get on the snake..." Thanks.

    You put the handlebars on wrong. The cables should be coming up from the left side of the bike so that they can be secured on the small prong on the back left of the front rack. Just remove the bars and pass them under the frame and back up from the left.

    Would you ever consider cycling the Erie canal? Looks like a great flat route with some stunning scenery, there's some great apps for cycling airBnB for charging stuff , the people along the canal seem super friendly too 👍

    I wonder if the battery has a learning curve to regulate the gauge as to how much battery life remains? And, does it show 1 bar left to preserve the life of the battery by not allowing complete discharge? Overall, a nice little unit and manageable for people lacking the strength to lift the heavier ones around/in/out of the car.

    • @MotoCheez
      @MotoCheez  5 місяців тому

      Typically that is the case it takes one full discharge to regulate the battery monitor, but it is also adjustable in the settings most times to set the voltage for what level battery you want it to display

    Another interesting video, thanks for posting it. I had watched the widening of Route 19 past Love Motorsports, but didn't realize that the bike lane was being added and that it would be so useful. I am hoping you keep the Engwe so that if the e-bike I ordered from China arrives we can go for an e-bike ride. I have no idea what range I will have, so for starters, after seeing your video, I think I will put it in the van and take it to a nice starting point in Crystal River, and then ride it to Love Motorsports and back to show it off on the same path you took home. The problem is that right now, I don't know where it is, and even if I will be able to make it work if it arrives. By deduction, I think it might have arrived at the Port of Miami two days ago. I would think that if it was coming into a west coast port, the arrival status would be more well defined. This is all I know: "The ship will arrive at the port from March 3rd to 10th. About 5 days for container clearance. Truck delivery takes about 3 days" That makes me think it is coming to Miami instead of the west coast, as the range of arrival dates implies to me that it is coming through the Panama Canal. I do not know for sure, what port, what ship, or even if it will arrive.. all the ordering process was done in Chinese, so I may have order a sea container of tires for all I know.. LOL..

      It seems that a lot of states are implementing this, Florida is not yet one of them that I know of. Plus as far as I know if you keep your bike at a class 2 on the road you can still use class 3 off-road or if you don't get caught of course

    I don't know what you call camping, but THAT'S not camping. It's more of a mobile home park. I go boondocking far out into the boonies... nice and quite with no one around. Keep your bear spray or stun gun, air horn and firearm with you when you go boondocking. Most black bears are not much of a threat but once in a while you meet one with cubs and then you'd better be prepared to protect yourself. You may not have bears where you are but I'm in Minnesota and they are plentiful, along with moose (a dangerous animal), elk, mountain lions, wolves and a host of other critters.

    i was really liking this bike it says 80 mile range and then all at once its dead. and i heard mini would be legal to drive in Florida. i do have a question to people send you them bikes or do you buy them all.

    • @MotoCheez
      @MotoCheez  5 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, was crazy how fast it dropped, but it did well. In the settings you can typically change when the battery voltage shows on the meter or something must have been set wrong from factory. I am usually sent the e-bikes for review

      @MotoCheez yeah I saw those, almost ordered one but then I made a spreadsheet mapping out all of the max speeds / weight ratios for a dozen bikes and saw eRide Pro 2 60mph /139 lbs, eCells 5 Star was 38mph / 92.6 lbs, and the Portola at 28mph / 59 lbs. So thats the reference line and your video is useful for finding where new bikes compare to that line.

      They actually do really good in the sand believe it or not, I typically take the power lines to prove it with these bikes. This bike has a decent amount of torque and my road to my house has a lot of sand it does well
