Well, this is because in the normal game, there is no possible way to hurt yourself, and the character gets triggered is damage is taken, no matter if it was themselves or something else.
Wow this wad sure tells a sad story of a suicidal man in a mental ward trying to free himself from his personal hell by well, taking his own life. Since you’re playing as the man, you see the world and doctors and security through his eyes, which in his eyes, he sees them as terrible demons when in actuality they are just humans who are trying to keep him from ending his life. Am I looking too deeply into this? Yes. Yes I am.
I was going to say "The King has returned." But it turns out UA-cam just hasn't shown me any of your videos for like a year and a half and you never stopped uploading...
I was hoping this would be a WAD based on Tommy Wiseau's "The Room". Although maybe the reason this guy wants to shoot himself so badly is because he watched it too many times.

This is why why it is imperative that we must invent the time machine. Just to see their reactions.
I feel like this WAD is about that one soldier in every horror movie/ game to have killed themselves in some random place and all the hoops and puzzles the token "easy way out" guy had to take to make sure he was in the proper cinematic position for you to find him.
1:25 has to be probably the funniest thing I've seen in a doom wad. Either he is turning his head after being punched or he is looking to see who else is trying to kill himself before him. He got killed by the BFG alright: 'Brutal face gouging'
I like how the zombieman deals 3-15 damage on you with their pistol (their sprite shows an assault rifle) while you take 100 damage from the pistol when using it on yourself.
I thought this was about a man remaking a map that his dead friend had made going slowly through insanity as he realizes he is in hell where the life is fake and is eternally stuck there or where he goes to a true beach of beauty

This is honestly a neat idea that I would like to see expanded upon. However, this seems kind of familiar, haven't you covered something like this in a previous Doom WAD video? Either that or I'm having some serious deja vu. I could have sworn I remember seeing something similar in a video you did a long time ago.
I like how the doomguy is only allowed to shoot himself if he's been through some shit. Basically, you're not allowed to commit suicide too early - at least try first, get beat up, and then when life has proven that it's shit, take your lead pill out. Not only that, but to reach new heights the protagonist has to punch himself to the face - again, quite realistic, and to do anything valuable in life and reach new heights you often have to punch and kick yourself into doing stuff you didn't want doing. Overall I'd say this is one of the most realistic male real life simulators I've seen. 5/7 would kill myself.
