Patti LaBelle should have gotten into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.. TWENTY FIVE years ago..
And she still not there yet...a shame.
@TAKEOUT CENTRAL ehhh I’d say I’d agree but in my heart, it’d be criminal to bypass Aretha Franklin in this regard because hers was 35 years ago.
@@chancebrown106 Aretha was the first woman inducted, how’d she make this argument 😂 it’s been 40 years since her debut album and 50 for Labelle. She should’ve been in by now, either as solo or as a member of Labelle, with Sarah and Nona.
Patti LaBelle, And Her LaBelle Group!! Was The First To Appear On The Cover Of The Rolling Stones Magazine Cover In 1975 ⭐ 🔥.
I agree...and my reasoning is very simple. History with the HoF has shown that being inducted isnt about record sales. There are a ton of folks in there, who didnt sell a ton of records. The REAL reason they got inducted starts with THEIR MUSICAL IMPACT on the industry..and how that impact ties into the fabric of 'American Popular Music". And just like Gil Scott Heron and Laura Nyro and Prince and Bill Withers and Stevie Wonder, Patti and LaBelle, sang songs that spoke to a narrative that was political and socially conscious...she and Nona and Sarah, were the first women, black or white, to do that, in EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEIR ALBUMS...every one of them. There is no Grace Jones or Joan Armatrading or Tracy Chapman or Rihanna or Madonna, if there was no LaBelle.
And the cherry on top, is that most of the material on their albums, was pure, wham-bam, rock and roll. Im talking about stuff that borders on HEAVY ROCK. Listen to "Who's Watchin' The Watcher", if you dont believe me. Shit, they rocked harder than Tina Turner!.. So, they changed music in that regard, because there were no black women doing that, ANYWHERE in music...in any genre. And if thats not enough proof, does anybody in their right mind, think that PURE rock and roll bands like the Stones and The Who, would have wasted time letting LaBelle tour with them, if they just jumped out there singing "Oh, Danny Boy" and "Down the Aisle"?...HELL NAW!..they let LaBelle tour with them, because they knew these chicks could rock harder than they could. Patti, Nona and Sarah, belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!...BOOK IT!

How is this so HD?!?!
They uploaded this from their archives. This is the digital version. The crap quality videos from the 90s look like that because they were recorded using VHS on live tv. This is the original HD recording
Ms. Patti deserves this award. She should have received it decades ago. Patti LaBelle's PEACH COBBLER is 🙆🏾 AWESOME!!! 😋
Anybody can list the songs they were singing please!!??
Yes let me listen.
Stir It Up” Shanice
Lady Marmalade Sheryl Lee Ralph

It would have been awesome if Fantasia was around during time! She would have been phenomenal 😄
Facts!!
Wow I didn't know that Sheryl Lee Ralph sings too I ever known her as an actress.
She was in the original musical Dreamsgrils on Broadway she had a disco hit record call "In the evening" it also on utube
What year was this? 1991?
The 24th Annual NAACP Image Awards on January 11, 1992 at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, California
Peobo !!
Shanice should have been bigger
Someone back then should have told Peobo to just let that hair go what is that
Arnetia Walker gave it to you on "New Attitude". Peabo Bryson was his usual fine, suave self, but YOU ARE MY FRIEND is not the song for him.
